  1. Ooh. My bad. Sucked off topic by irrelevence.
  2. Codswallop on steroids. Hilarious!
  3. Your opinion. Fine. But the topic conerns the UK, not Thailand.
  4. There is no comparison, therfore no inconsistency nor hypocracy.
  5. Good point. This contest used to be great for the kids to watch. I thought the whole thing was chit.
  6. Most UK expats here are not immigrants (it says so on the visa tin) and have not applied to become so. If they were invited to immigrate and then wanted to do so, then it would be fair to require them to integrate much further (which is required in several ways anway, for the few who have been though all the hoops and managed to attatn cizenship, usually after many years). No semantics just how it is.
  7. Great Britain is an island separated from the European mainland by the English Channel and North Sea and comprises the nations of England, Scotland and Wales. I wonder if that makes Eire Little Britain?
  8. Anyone ever see that movie? Wild Geese I think it was.
  9. Could be. But it would probably be even worse. A pity that your school forgot to mention that colonization was practised by several peoples (empires), over thousands of years, with many of these far more guilty of exploitation. But I suppose you just can't resist a dig at the Poms!
  10. Well there are big differences. You could start with a passport and visa, perhaps? Try that here without the documents!
  11. how did this nonsens ever make 7 pages?
  12. You are. But now you're a wriggly one.
  13. Who is they? Several British governments have failed but this goes back to post WW2 - you can start with the Germans for causing that.
  14. It's about the 11 months up to and including April. Not May. Yes, who knows?
  15. Damn. You're more confused than me. The OP mentions "the ramifications of this warming trend are being felt across continents, with Europe bracing for a surge in temperatures in the coming weeks. The U.K.'s Met Office predicts highs of 26°C in parts of England". Do behave.
  16. Record breaking every day. Found these May maximums for the UK at: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/research/climate/maps-and-data/uk-climate-extremes May* 32.8 22 May 1922^ Camden Square (London) May* 32.8 29 May 1944 Horsham (West Sussex) May* 32.8 29 May 1944 Tunbridge Wells (Kent) May* 32.8 29 May 1944 Regent's Park (London) Most confusing!
  17. Thanks, thought so. Some local records broken but not generally, this year. La Nina and high AQI up north have contributed. Hope for more rain soon.
