A re entry permit would cease to be valid once the extension it relates to ends.
Thanks - I had a feeling that would be the case
-
I may be in a similar situation later in the year - would my only way of controlling the date that my BOI extension ends be to resign from the job rather than waiting for them to end it?
Also would my multi-entry re-entry permission still be valid or would I have to pay for a new one?

It's funny - my wife can get a Schengen Visa for next to nothing, a sheet of A4 and a copy of my passport because she's married to an EU citizen. Same for an Irish visa. But to get a UK visa (my home country) the amount of paperwork and the cost is ridiculous
Last time we got a 5 year tourist visa to stop the incessant trips down to Bangkok

I have to get my 1 year marriage visa, am I going to Promenada, or the old location near the airport? Sorry if this has been answered already in the thread, but it's 20+ pages long. Thanks.
Marriage extension is at the old location.
Is it worth creating a pinned topic that summarises the services at each of the two locations?
E.g.
Promenada - 90 day report (in person), extension based on pension, etc
Old location - 90 day report (mail in), extension based on marriage, etc

When I saw the title of this post I feared the worst in terms of responses but I have been pleasantly surprised and my faith in CMTV has been restored

I probably should have mentioned the gay element wears them a lot.
Man - these trousers have a lot to answer for - they've changed my sexuality as well as making me poor and stateless - next I'll be having to look for the cheapest place in town to buy a beer
-
It appears that they are preferred by Stateless expats, who lack the funds to make a trip to where they came from occasionally, and pick up some decent clothes. Also, a number of trashpackers, on the accelerated road to poverty wear them. Guess who is going to be the first to piss in the bottle, when the BiB show up?
I'd never considered myself as a Stateless expat who lacks the funds to make a trip where I came from - my passport and bank balance must be lying to me
-
I'm happy to wear them around the house - nice and comfy and as previously stated once you tie the correct knot they're secure
I'll occasionally wear them if I'm popping round the corner to the 7-11 and I can't be bothered to change into shorts - seeing that some locals wear their pyjamas to 7-11 I don't feel too underdressed

Could this by chance be another post by a Brit, now letting us know the "proper" amount of doctors offices for a city street? Get a life, dude. Having a good selection of doctors is a good thing. Unless you have some serious illness, having a couple of different physicians to see, when needed, makes a lot of sense. They do take vacations, have babies, retire, or even die, let alone they don't work 24/7. I've got 6 hair stylist withing 500 m, hardly worth complaining about.
I am very pleased to find out that SLAPOUT is now a BRIT! I wonder if it was a painful experience to change nationality? Maybe the OP has even become a Scottish Brit
Why do people jump to totally unfounded conclusions about TV posters without making any attempt to check the facts. I am also not quite sure what the connection is with 'Brits' in this context!
A certain poster may have a chip on their shoulders about Brits - maybe one stole his girlfriend

If you arrive in the country on your new passport (I.e. You already have an arrival stamp in it) then you do not need the letter from your embassy / consulateDon't forget the letter from your consulate/embassy requesting that Immigration perform this service.
You only need the letter if your passport was issued to you in Thailand by your embassy / consulate
The stamp transfer is done at the BOI extension desk - I initially tried to get it done at 11:00 am on a Friday and they couldn't do it for me. Went at 7:30 am the following Monday and was number three in the queue
Sorry, thats not correct. I just arrived back from UK with my new passport a couple of weeks ago, arrival stamp in new passport but I was still required to get the letter asking Thai Immigration to transfer the Visa stamp into the new passport.
Perhaps another case of differential info based on who you speak to at Immigration?
Possibly - I picked up a form from immigration that asked for the stamps to be transferred and initially they asked for a letter from immigration but when I showed the arrival stamp they apologised and did the swap for me

Not legal in the land of the Thai.have you chaps ever thought about home brewing? still in OZ atm but looking to move in the next few years and I would like to bring my keg fridge, nuthing like your own beer on tap.
I think it's legal if you get a licence - not sure of the cost or availability though

The authority's want Chiang Mai to be the cultural center of Thailand.
Clean and respectful is the dream.
That is why the bars are being hammered.
Yep - I've also heard from Thai friends that it's tied into the application for the UNESCO(?) world heritage site application
No idea if this is true or kii maa;)

You can do visa transfers at the old office - I did mine there two weeks ago, they also do extensions for marriage, teachers, volunteers and BOI - not sure if there is anything else they do - they definitely do not do 90 day reports in person (by mail is ok) or extensions based on pensions
-
Old office - I posted a couple of weeks ago about my experience doing the transfer

You can sync iPhone data to iTunes on computer .One, you need to enable iPhone connect your computer. Two, download iTunes and install iTunes on your computer . Three, open the File menu and select Devices in the menu. Four, you can easy to transfer iPhone data .
Thanks for the reply
The iPhone is already synced this way to iTunes one computer
If you try and sync to iTunes on a second computer the second computer wants to wipe your iPhone first as you can only be synced to one computer at a time - this is the issue I am trying to overcome
-
Thanks for the reply BV but that's not quite the scenario I'm looking at unfortunately
I'm keeping the same device (iPhone) - I need to sync it with iTunes on a new computer
iTunes will only allow an iPhone to be synced with one computer - if you try to sync it with a different computer the new computer will force you to clear everything off the iPhone first

UNIrishpub?
BitTorrents for me. Watch at my choice of time, next day
You'll need to have better will power than me to avoid finding out the scores

I need to synch my wife's iPhone to iTunes on a new computer
When I try and do this I'm getting a message something like "this device is already synced to another version of iTunes, syncing to this iTunes will wipe the device"
Can I do an iCloud backup of the phone, sync it to the new computer (which will wipe it) and then restore the iCloud back up and continue syncing using the new computer? Or will doing the restore cause the phone to "forget" it has been synced with the new computer and bring up the wipe it message again?
All her photos are backed up so I think the only thing I really need to keep on there is all her line contacts, groups and chat histories so if there is a way to restore these after the wipe other than the iCloud back up I'm open to suggestions
Cheers

I understand one of the potential reasons why the office space isn't used for the people making their extensions is because when people start nattering the acoustics of the place amplify the noise causing distractions to the staff and slowing everything down
If that is the case does the layout of the new office allow for say a glass floor to ceiling partition with doors to be installed to act to reduce the sound?
Trouble is probably out of the budget

Okay - Classic Burger has had its time in the spotlight - some people like it, some people dislike it (surprise!) and some people are upset that others disagree with them (bigger surprise!)
Can we have a new contender for discussion / dissection ?
