TM-30
in Chiang Mai
He has asked about using the online service but they told him it wasn’t worth it for him as he only has 9 rooms - I’ll get him to ask again when he goes out there next

TM-30
in Chiang Mai
My brother in law owns a guesthouse
When he does the reporting for his guests about half the time Immigration try and sting him for guests who haven’t had a TM30 since they’ve been in the country
So if they’ve stayed a few days in BKK and not had a TM30 there when my brother in law does the reporting they try and hold him responsible and attempt to fine him - so far he has argued his way out of it but it makes him think why he bothers to do the correct thing

No apologies from posters 2 & 3 now this has been substantiated?

I would recommend getting there as early as you can, I don’t know what time the car park opens but I have been able to park there at 7:00 am
Bear in mind that Monday is likely to be busy as it is the day before a public holiday so I doubt that 11:00 would be early enough to get a ticket
Unless things have changed very recently if you don’t get a ticket for service for the day you are there you have to come back and try to get a ticket the following day, there is no roll over

Now that is a lot of numbers

Yes, there was something about a weekend gin discount, 20% off I think.
I didn't know about I'm Happy. I'll check it out. Is the steak as good as it looks in the FB page? https://www.facebook.com/imhappycnx/
I’ve not been too impressed with the food there so far but that’s not an issue as nearby (5 min walk) is RibTalk which does the best ribs I’ve had in a long time and they also serve craft beer
-
I believe it’s called My Beer Friend
The music is pretty good there and they have a large variety of gin as well, which if I recall correctly gets a discount at the weekends
Also on Saturdays the Solar burger van should be serving there as well
There is also a good craft beer bar called I’m Happy near the North-East corner of the moat - they have a good selection of beers on t

The only thing that surprises me is that they are not called T4G

I have a funny feeling that, as in most of these cases, greed has clouded judgement
The deal was probably agreed at a ROI that most sensible people would have thought was too good to be true

Can you get a scan of it sent by email to you? I am sure that would be accepted.
I am trying to get hold of a scanned version at the moment, along with a letter stating that it is still current and what the current rental income is (as the monthly rent has gone up over the last 11 years)

It appears that was requested by division 5 headquarters when your application was sent to them for approval.
What is your report back date on the under consideration stamp?
10th November - but my local IO wants the UK contract by tomorrow lunchtime
I have a feeling that HQ didn’t understand the rental income statement and asked the local IO to clarify things with me
When I spoke to the IO on the phone he was able to understand it but then he phoned back two minutes later having spoken to his boss to ask for the contract
-
Hi UJ,
The letter from my brother in law had signed copies of his house book and his ID card attached to it and we explained to the IO at the time and it was accepted
I should explain that we originally submitted this documentation in September and I got a stamp in my passport saying to return in November
Assuming that everything gets resolved this year I’ll make sure to remove the supporting documentation from the Embassy letter next year!
-
The immigration officer definitely wants a copy of the UK contract (although I don’t see that many people in Thai Immigration will be able to understand a British Legal Contract)
When I said the original was 11 years old he suggested that I just draw up a new contract (Thai style I guess)
-
I sent the statement to the British Embassy to get my income letter and it was still attached to the letter when I submitted it to immigration along with my other documentation
We live rent free at an apartment owned by my brother in law so we provided immigration with a letter from my brother in law stating this in lieu of a rental agreement in Thailand

Hi,
I own a property in the UK that I have rented out for the last 11 years and I this year I have used this to show I have the income to support my wife
I have provided immigration with copies of the statements I receive from the letting agency along with the letter from the British embassy
but they are now asking for a copy of my rental agreement!
Has anyone else come across this? I will be asking my letter to provide a copy of the original agreement (fortunately the same family are still renting it) along with a supporting letter from the agency stating that that the agreement is still in place 11 years later
Has anyone else come across this situation? Is there anything else that I can ask my letting agency for?
Thanks in advance

If Walk Land still exists I think it will be in the Santhitam Plaza area
From the roundabout in Santhitam go past the 7-11, then go past the Tesco Lotus and turn left at the first junction after Tesco Lotus
If Walk Land has shut I’d recommend Oxide
Turn right at the junction past Tesco Lotus and follow the road to the end and turn left, then follow the road to the end and turn right

My wife says there is a stall on the Hang Dong Road, on the lefthand side, past the Samoeng junction that sells really good Khanom Krok
mighr be a bit of a drive depending on where you live

Unfortunately I don’t think Hue lights are available in Thailand (or not easily at least)
Mine were sent from the UK

By the strict letter of the law the landlord should file a TM30 for you within 24 hours of your arrival at said residence after returning to the country
