Hi,
Does anyone know the "official" cost of a taxi from swampy to the sukhumvit road area?
I have a friend arriving next week and they want to ensure they have enough cash on them for the fare
Thanks in advance

Without guidance the children will wander off....Subject, Page 1: "Promenada - The beginning of the end?"
Page 13 - talking about the toilets in the ladies lingerie department at Kad San Kueaw!
Thai Visa posters, ya gotta love 'em!
Must be time for the the topic to morph into a burger or pizza thread

Thanks for the feedback - sounds like a laser jet version of the MG3570 would be good
The dead printer is an ink jet and I don't like the issue with ink jets where if you're not regularly printing (or running the test page through) the ink can clog up in the jets

Hi,
My wife's printer has just died and I'm hoping to replace it with an AirPrint compatible one in order to be able to print directly from various i devices
Ideally I'd be looking for a colour laser jet print with an integrated scanner - it doesn't have to be a turbo fast printer
Does anyone know or have experience of any products that meet this criteria?
Thanks in advance

If it were not for The Dukes and Ragu, Promenda might have no customers at all. I only go there for Ragu.
Also Fuji and Tsukemen 55 is an interesting ramen shop. (Involves a little pot that you heat at your table). The Southern Thai food in front of Rim Ping is also good.
Another vote for Tsukemen 55 here

I asked the manager at Ragu's about it a week or so ago.
He said it was on hole as Dukes at Maya was now taking precedence.
So I guess it may be a while yet
Speaking of Maya it is the one mall I have never been to.
I just pretty much avoid Huay Kaew Road at all costs...except for when I need to get to Grace Clinic
LOL. Yes, I visit Nimmanhaemin twice a year. When the kids have their dental checkup. (Dentaland).
I have actually been at Maya once. One of my best U-turn moves ever, coming down the Superhighway pretty much in the grass ALL the way on the left, then just meters for the traffic light forced all the way right for a U-turn and JUST made it through on the orange light. It was beautiful, but sadly before I had a dash cam to share it with the world.
You had me there for a minute.
I thought you meant you went in to Maya and came right out when
you said one of your best U turns ever.
Got to thinking it over and one little fact that might help them (very little)
but a bit is if the Theater would play other shows than the ones
all the other ones are playing. Play the block buster but not in every theater.
They already do play different movies - Maya is the only cinema showing Citizen Four as far as I am aware

Probably your best bet would be to look at the local reservoirs and dams

I like the burgers at Rock Me Burger, 3 Little Pigs and The Brotherhood in no particular order

As Tywais says they're closed tomorrow so I reckon you can go anytime and be first in the queue for Tuesday

Suppose I want to transfer 25,000 USD. Using your method that would be 10 transfers at 500 Baht each or a total of 5,000 Baht. If I use a normal bank wire transfer via SWIFT, the cost is $25 to $35 depending on which US bank I use.I believe the fee is something along the lines of 500 baht when I do this. The max my credit union will let me transfer is $2500 at one time, which is what I do every few months or so.
If you're a long-term resident, it makes no sense at all to be paying fees like $25 or more to be transferring money into Thailand.
So your method is only cost effective for small amounts and not a universal cure all. Therefore in many cases paying $25 to transfer money to Thailand does make sense in many cases contrary to what you say.
If you need more than $5,000 your method costs more than $25.
It sounds like the limit is set by the Credit Union and not BKB therefore if you have an American bank with a higher transfer limit it then using BKB for 500 THB is still good

It's been interesting watching some of the indicators recently (to my very untrained eye!)
Thai interest rate lowered - Baht strengthens
Thai GDP forecast lowered - Baht strengthens
UK GDP forecast raised - Baht strengthens
Martial law replaced with Section 44 - Baht strengthens

Just read that the injunction against the film has been cleared and it'll roll out on the 1st as plannedI thought there was an injunction against that movie over a contract dispute with one of the Thais in it?

The recent rain seems to have reduced both the smog and the number of new comments to this thread

these days i am partial to winniethekwai and uptheos.
Why would you want a poster of winniethekwai or uptheos up on your wall?
You haven't seen me in all my glory!
Where to purchase a winniethekwai / uptheos poster? I think it would raise a lot of money for charity on second thoughts I'd pay not to see it

I'm happy to do an extra 90 day report every 2.25 years (if that's the going rate) if I can continue to use the mail option and not have to visit immigration an additional 4 times a year - once a year for my extension is enough

Maybe the smog can be considered as having cultural value

Maybe time to consider contacting these guys www.stannah-Thailand.com

Might be better to move this to the visa forum as a lot of experts hang out there

It probably means that the route is shared by all three airlines so you can book via Thai airways and it'll have a Thai airways flight number but the actual flight will be in an All Nippon aircraft with All Nippon staff

Thanks - Funnily enough that was my initial guess
