  1. It's clear that there is a lot more traffic the past days during the Loy Krathong festival.

But that where in my opinion only Thai from Bangkok and they are about to leave now.

I saw a lot of Chinese tourists the last couple of days, but they are almost always here...and they are a different kind of tourists,

that do not visit places Farang would, they have a trail of their own.

Is it me, or is Thailand (Chiang Mai) less visited then other years by foreigners?

Or will it al be good for December?

  2. I imagine that the term 'organic' has no legal basis (or translation) in Thailand. I'm pretty sure that there is no authority that certifies produce as being organic. I witnessed the whole organic tendency in Switzerland over many years and know and saw that farmers were going out at night to spray, at least during their transformation phase. It is very difficult to cultivate crops in Thailand without resort to chemicals, I have cultivated melons for instance and the only way that I could produce stuff like you see in the markets would be to spray (I guess) twice a week. I did get some organic melons but it was hardly worthwhile. I don't eat melons any more.

WHat I don't understand is why people prefer to use their imagination rather than do a search on something called the internet. It took me all of 30 seconds to find this. http://www.organic.moc.go.th/en/standard/mkt

All nice, but do you trust it?

    I dont!

  3. The new Thai Drivers license is now a laminated with your photo. Beware of the Photo taker processing clerks they like to sell you plastic covers to coat it again for 10 baht each. I guess if they get enough 10 bahts in a week & month they get another salary very unprofessional in my opinion. Lucky my Thai friend was walking by when she was trying to sell me she told him to go away so he went to the front desk to file a complaint against her. Great country Thailand it keeps you on your toes every minute.

Are you trying to say you almost got scammed for 10 Baht?

Maybe you should call in the air force next time... nuke them....!!

  4. For all the people who don't like drunk people in traffic at night.

Stay home, go back to your nanny state but don't complain.

It is what it is here and it will never change.

People drink, drive and most of them are Thai.

Even when not drunk horrible drivers.

It's a Thai thing, like covering up high profile murder cases.

Rich people do not go to jail.

Corrupt system in whole Thai society.

Nothing we can do about it but accept it, it is here to stay.

  5. Thai questions and answers to "where are you going" or "where are you coming" from are just polite conversation and there are three standard answers, tura, tio and talat (business, pleasure and market), no details required or expected.

I find those questions disturbing, if they want to be polite the could ask "how are you doing", or say "good evening sir"...

Again, where I go and where I come from is none of their business.
