"He said the military junta decided to seize power with strong determination to resolve the political impasse and end conflicts in the country."
And I believe him and trust him.
He can deliver and will deliver to the contrast of the previous muppets being in charge of this country.
In other news, Greece just had an election. Unfortunately, Costas, the facist Golden Dawn party only garnered 6.3% of the vote. They could have used your help...
Costas does not like elections at all...Dictatorship, like the good old times in Greece..

Airlines are very competitive, a thing that is hard for a Thai company to deal with, other then that when fuel prices drop it drops for all airlines, so it does not matter, all airlines adjust prices..

Don't know what the big deal is about, in many counties the farmers are subsidized, that costs the government money.
I would not call that fraud..what individuals do after that is an other story, but you can not blame a government for trying to help farmers...

I wonder how many people on a Euro based pension or income can afford to stay here, Spain is calling, cheap, good weather and in the Eurozone.

For somebody who can not even set the lottery ticket prices I serious doubt this problem is going to be solved.

They actually have an "Index" for this? Amazing......Thailand......
And if they have an index how do they measure things? Ask a civil servant how much tea money did you make this month?

Street protests stopped months ago, so.... What happened from then until now?
Chiang Mai very busy, thats all I know, today wanted to rent a car, not possible!
All tourist related people I talk with tell me it's the best high season in years..

I should have thought most people of the world would know about Thailand even if it is for all the wrong reasons , I see some adverts promoting the Thainess experience , methinks that Thai tourism numbers are falling quicker than an AirAsia flight, that bottom line looks grim gungadin, panic stations everyone.
Everybody in Chiang Mai I talk with and are in the tourist business, say they have the best high season in years...maybe Phuket and Pattaya a bit down because of the Russians but I think it was a very good high season in general.

it might be a misinterpretation by the journalist who wrote the article.
If this was true, the Thai export would not be an issue, because it's very cheap for Swiss to buy Thai products..I think the financial dude does not know what he is talking about...

Should it not be that the one who makes the remark should withdraw it?

For what it is worth, the expat businesses in Pattaya do not seem to be doing well either - at least according to the TV Pattaya forum. There seems to be a tourist slowdown all over Thailand, rather than just in Chiang Mai.
Chinese and local (THAI) tourists are in big numbers in Chiang Mai at the moment, if you only count Farang as tourists you are right.

If the gross domestic product (GDP) grows from 4-5 per cent annually, tax collections would also rise.
Wishful thinking or based on anything?>

“Thainess”, or the distinct character of the Thai people and our unique culture.”
