  1. Technically not, but in actuality yes. Spending 2000 baht on the tiger, well what would you buy? it already has the pipe, go to lower gearing on a low reving bike, i really don't know what would happen.

Speedo, do any of us really know the true speed of our bikes? Are you telling me that you actually in some way paced yourself to a true speed? how?..because there are many of us that would like to know how to do it. Do you now where or have the equipment?

I pass cars riding parrallel on the access road of the outer ring road expressway all the time. If they travel at an average of 120, I must be going faster.

btw, keep the CBR's idle low.

Are you ok? just turn the GPS on ! :)

something tells me a GPS isn't 100% accurate....but I don't have one, so if someone with a cbr and gps would be so kind....clock it! (The Tiger also)

  3. The tiger has a stainless aftermarket type downpipe, the cbr doesn't BUT a stainless argon welded downpipe for the cbr is only 1000 baht, no need for DBS , Endurance or NMF, unless you want a mandrel bent pipe without welded sections...25% increase in midend power, with no real noticeable loss in low or hi end power.

Go to somchai and get the muffler derestricted for 500 baht, and you get another 15%, but keep the same size perforated tubing inside...remove the restriction flange.

Change the sprockets on the cbr to 15/44 for another 500 baht - and the combined performance with pipe and silencer will equal a 50% increase in useable torque, which will run 700 rpm faster than 16/42 gearing, hitting the same speeds but quicker...change to 14/48 or 15/48 sprockets and hang on for a buttload of bottom end.

If you just do the sprockets it will run 500rpm higher at 15/44 gearing, the new pipe flows more so the rpms will climb faster easier. For those who think you will lose top end speed with 15/44 gearing, you won't it will just run at a higher rpm, since the cbr likes high rev's, its in its intended environment.

Add a needle platinum plug for 200 baht (model NGK - CR8)and the throttle response will become sharper, gap the plug properly to 1.1mm and another 5-10% in throttle response comes up...not power , but throttle response.

All of these I have done one by one and I can verify...and this is without tuning the carburetor yet.

I can do ATLEAST 120 with two people all day (approx 130kilos) every day, by myself 140 on a daily basis and 150 with 10 more seconds to get there from 140.

To summarize, the tiger basicly has an aftermarket pipe as OEM. Add higher gearing and we will see if the torque is still there.

IMO the tiger has been tuned from the factory.

Spend 2200 baht on the cbr and the performance is increased dramatically, it's a totally different bike...possibly surpassing the tiger.

For some reason ive seen stock cbr's with a varierty of different gearings anything from 16/38, 15/32, 16/42, 15/44, 16/32...for some reason honda put them out the factory with different gearing for different year models apparently. So the performance is really all over the board.

  4. Anyone ever done a long trip on a 150cc 2 stroke?

the farthest ive been was 60 kilometers on a 2 stroke, and when i got off i was still vibrating...but this isn't the question, my question is, how do they handle long hauls at a constant throttle for long runs? they get hot and over heat?

thinking of picking up a kawa ZX150, but want to make the Bangkok - Chiang Rai route soon.

  5. i don't know how you would like to clasify the person i talked too - i call someone who answers my question about a product a salesperson or representative...but believe me it wasn't a figment of my imagination.

that link only states a product description, no mention of a re-release, the suzuki main page has had the raider listed as a 'on the market' product for a long time.

i'll give the people in your link a call tomorrow to see what the real deal is, is it ok if i refer to them as a salesman?

edit: I see it now, at the very top it says "New models "

  6. Just about every car in Cambodia has been stolen from Thailand. There's even a special street in PP for selling them.

how you figure? cambodian market for cars have the sterring wheel on the leftside...cambodians stay away from rhd cars like the plague...most hi-end cars in cambodia, you can't even find in thailand, they are mainly american imports....escalades etc...

  7. im pretty sure you have it backwards on the passports...leave on a thai passport and make sure the name on the ticket is spelled the same as on the passport....when they look and see you don't have a visa for england, then show them the british passport....when entering the UK show the uk passport.

basicly you use the thai passport when dealing with thai immigration both coming and going.

as long as his thai id card has the same thai spelling as on the passprt there shouldn't be any problems.

  8. yes, a real ny pizza must be dripping with oil, either olive oil or oil from the cheese and pepperoni, but it must be a bit oily....ok it doesnt have to be that oily.

im looking at a bread cookbook right now, and it seems there are a number of different processes in fermenting the dough(rise)..this may be a factor.

i remember a pizza place in flushing ny, that had people lined up waiting for a slice fresh from the oven, i will never forget the taste...pizza doesnt need a wood fired oven to taste good.

oh god man, i want a slice!..im hurtin here...

  9. Bought a 2008 Honda Click for soi hopping to the market for beer and cigarettes...I filled the tires with propr pressure, and to my surprise the acceleration was almost 50% better than at first....i think there is potential in this little thing and the ride is much more relaxed than the CBR. It hits 100kph no problem.

With a little engine modification , i think it would become a little mad dog on wheels....so are there any mods to do to the engine? pipe, plug, air filter that anyone knows of? my goal is to freak people out at stoplight drags...lol

  10. neopolitan pizzas please....anywhere?...not thin cracker like italian pizza, chewy neopolitan dough/crust not too thin and not too thick...almost like a new york style pizza.

Neapolitan pizza (pizza napoletana): Authentic Neapolitan pizzas are made with local ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes, which grow on the volcanic plains to the south of Mount Vesuvius, and Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, made with the milk from water buffalo raised in the marshlands of Campania and Lazio in a semi-wild state (this mozzarella is protected with its own European protected designation of origin).[1] According to the rules proposed by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, the genuine Neapolitan pizza dough consists of Italian wheat flour (type 0 or 00, or a mixture of both), natural Neapolitan yeast or brewer's yeast, salt and water. For proper results, strong flour with high protein content (as used for bread-making rather than cakes) must be used. The dough must be kneaded by hand or with a low-speed mixer. After the rising process, the dough must be formed by hand without the help of a rolling pin or other mechanical device, and may be no more than 3 mm (¹⁄₈ in) thick.

So not like New York Style pizza but just like the local version of Italian style pizza. While NY pizza might be thin it has an edge crust. Neopolitan pizza might be more like Chicago style thin pizza although Chicago style thin pizza usually has a chewy crust rather than a cracker crispy style crust.

i dont know, bella says its neopolitan so thats what i called it...oh well...but yes anything like ny style pizza in chiang mai?

i dont like italian thin cracker crust pizza...im seriously about to go buy some flour and give it a try myself, why cant anyone in bangkok or chiang ma get it right? ehhh...its just dough...even the ny pizza place in bangkok isnt close to real.
