  1. Yeah the CBR is kinda windy, especially after 120kph.

Although the ninja seat doesnt accomodate much shifting as you said, is it uncomfortable riding position?

It kinda seems like with a few modifications of the CBR -suspension, pipe, sprockets, repadded seat..almost on par with the ninja? (except absolute topend)

    or

resprocket the ninja and it should be abe to keep up with the cbr per stoplight as mentioned.

know what the sprocket ratios are for the ninja? and your current sprockets for the cbr?

and imagine the ninja is much more suitable for highway travel, the cbr screams at high rpm...ninja just purrs? or does it scream like the cbr?

  2. Top speed of the Kawa 250 is supposedly 150kph, same as the CBR 150.

But getting there, is the acceleration of the 250 much faster or only marginal?...Ride ad handling wise is it a major step up from the CBR? eg; ...long trips on the CBR punishes your nutsack, is the 250 more comfortable and quicker?

If the differences is only 25% i'll stick with the CBR

no, i dont want a tiger.

    thanx!

  3. Sadly OldMadRiver is one of the hardcore Yellows who will never change their mind or allow free thought.

I posted "Thaksin took from the rich Elite and gave to the lower levels to spread it".

OMR says "gave to the poor".

No, I did not say that. He spread it about to the levels below the Elite, which in turn spread it out amongst more people by the chain reaction, as opposed to it being taken all by just a very few uber rich elite.

OMR says Thaksin did not crack down on corruption, he did, in a big way, but he cracked down the Elite and allowed a lot more lower level fingers in the pie. (1)You cannot take a society that is used to total corruption and make it clean in one foul swoop. What you can do is spread it out more and more until so many fingers are in the pie that its so diluted that finally it becomes of no real importance, and from that stage, you clean it up.

(2)The drugs trade is run by the Elite,(3) how on earth do you think all the drugs get into Thailand and transported so easily around the place. Are the Army so useless they cannot patrol the borders or are they turning a blind eye on purpose? You choose! This was the first big run in between Thaksin and the Elite......by clamping down on drugs it stopped their income from this illicit trade and this was the first stage of upsetting them. Its well (4) documented how the drugs factories in Burma run at very low production levels once the crackdown was in place.

OMR might have Democrat connections, or their business may be suited to have Dems in power, but do not let these people with their lies and unproven allegations cloud peoples minds.

(5)Thaksin has never been proven to have taken any money for himself. And until such time as he is, he is innocent of any charges of taking money for himself.

One must be very careful not to allow the "anti-Thaksin" hype and propoganda to cloud the real issue and problem, and that is of course the 2006 coup and all events that followed.

Thailand needs its 1997 Peoples constitution back really.

    (1) Aphisit destroyed any credibility Thaksin may have had in one clean sweep by not taking forceful action against the reds in Pattaya...checkmate

(2a) Bullshit...the methamphetamine drug trade is not run by any single entity, its a conglomeration of many different importers of methamphetamine (yabaa) burmese goods, mainly the Wah State army, which then redistributes to regional wholesalers which make individual runs to bangkok or other provinces.

The defect KMT troops in Mae Salong use to charge a fee to let them through the area until Khun Sa challenged them with a 500 strong mule train.

(2b) Crystal methamphetamine (ice) IS mainly imported from China this is the major source for Pseudoephedrine the other source is India- the main component needed to create this drug as well as regular methamphetamine(yabaa).

(2c) Marijuana is imported from Laos and Cambodia...Weed is a big load that smells, that couldnt possibly make it from the north/burma to the central region. It has to come by boat eg: Mekong river.

(2d) Opium is imported from Burma as well as grown within Thai borders.

(2d) Cocaine - Africans are the importers, their trade mark is wrapping coca in end tips of plastic bags, like the ones from 7-11.

    (3) My statements above can easily illustrate how hard it is to entrap drug dealers, the government does not know which direction they are coming from, most seasoned dealers use old trade routes not on the maps. I can go to the Tachilek border and scoop up 100 tabs, and no one would know. Long time residents in these border areas do not need paperwork to travel between borders, because they are well known to the officials.

    (4) Of course drug factories run at lower levels during a crackdown. Why would they boost production to get caught?

    (5) I have a relative that paid millions of baht under the table to get the contract to construct part of the new airport. Not directly to Thaksin, but to his relatives.

why are drugs easily distributed you ask? its not because of the elitist...it's the fires that are lit every year to supposedly clear old brush....the smoke blocks satellite imagery of the mule trains. Dogs become useless, binoculars become useless, heat sensing radar becomes useless, soldiers become useless because they are not native to the territory, and lookouts see them coming from a mile away.

You really want to end the meth drug trade you have to monitor the Indian border, since thailand does not have a border with India, its up to burma and everyone knows thats not going to happen.

So they set the brush fires in the north. If you look at drug seizures for any given year, the incidence of brush fires will be corresponding in relation.

  4. Not really. He was born in the UK, went to Eton, a top school and gained a 1st in PPE from Oxford which makes him exceptionally well educated and undoubtedly infelligent but that does not infer common sense, morals or foresight. And he is Thai after all so no amount of time in the UK changes the genes....

This is about as ignorant as it gets, thank you for exhibiting your extreme sense of intellect.

Why is it ignorant? I am merely pointing out to those here that think that a foreign birth and education change the man, it does not imho...

No, you are implying that genes are the sole criteria in dictating a persons character.

  6. I see Abhisit was the first to run off from Pattaya according to the news very unlike a captain and leaving all his invited guests to comment why they ever accepted an invitation to Thailand under his stewardship. What a supreme coward and failure... Maybe skipping that military service left him with no backbone...

In any civilized government any head of state would be the first to be shipped out and away from harms way.

Alot of people here say Aphisit has lost face, >>> 'FACE'<<< is this not what many TV members deplore? Is this not a contributing factor to the current turmoil?

And now Thailand has a PM that has no regard for his own "face" and some people are judging him on this basis.

He knew from the beginning the problems he would be facing as PM. But he was man enough to accept it, and definately knew from the beginning it would be a 'face' losing propostion.

    He is not a coward.

  7. leaving chiang rai for bangkok 2 weeks ago from the new bus station, a cop came on board while at the station, checked my baggage and asked what I was doing in chiang rai and where i was from.

tickets are still sold at the old station, but longer journes must be boarded at the new station.

a tuk tuk should be no more than 50 baht to the new station.

  8. as bad as this is for thailand and the government, it is even worse for Thaksin.

Did I miss something here? Or did you accidentally say "even worse" instead of "a light at the end of the tunnel"?

Thaksin is showing his true colors to the delegates of the ASEAN summit, wasting their time and actually putting them in harms way.

ASEAN is for the good of the region, Thaksin is showing he has no disregard for the good of the region by disrupting the summit.

No disregard for anyone but himself.

There are times for everything, disrupting the ASEAN summit for the development of the region is not one of them. Policies are made at the summit and now the policies are put on hold because of Thaksin, I can't think of any delegate that would see any good in his actions, especialy during a looming world economic slowdown where policies are needed more than ever.

Aphisit's lack of action is correct, let the delegates feel the full flavor of Thaksin's wrath, the taste may just end up being too bitter to swallow.

If you were one of the delegates and felt at danger...who would you blame? the instigater or the protector?

you do not need a protector if there is no instigator.

    Total rubbish imho...

The only person looking very stupid indeed is Abhisit. He is in disgrace after inviting all the others to a summit in the wrong place at the wrong time and hosted by the wrong person and his team. They promised all would go ahead and all would be secure and they showed they have neither competence or the support of their people. Abhisit and his fellow muppets showed themselves to be totally out of their depth and all the other delegates have gone away laughing at him and Thailand.

Time to apologise and give up as it ain't for him. He ain't no Obama now is he!

No support of their people? have you not seen the youtube video where office workers at the Sathorn and Narathiwat intersection took it upon themselves to disband the redshirts?...regular working people....no colored shirts.

Why did the resdhirts flee the scene? because they were scared...plain and simple...what were they scared of? They had the misconceived notion that they had the majority support of the people.

This clearly shows the redshirts are in the minority, atleast in Bangkok.

The people are tired of all this and just want to be able to feed their families.

All Aphisit has to do is give the word, and its on...but he shows restraint and is not falling for Thaksin's tricks.

    Unlike yourself.

It is a sad sad sad world you must live in, not to be able to see the damage caused by Thaksin to the ASEAN summit...even a blind man can see this.

Thaksin has shot himself in the foot and his actions can only get crazier. Possibly to the point of insanity...

  10. come during sonkran have fun, and have your meetings afterwards, you will have a different perspective of Thailand and have a lighter heart at the meetings>>> better sales for you.

  11. Its a chicken, pork or vegetable base, in powder form or broth cubes available at every grocery store as well as 7-11.

It can be considered a seasoning, but not really, its used in a similar way as salt, sugar, fishsauce, or black pepper when cooking.

Basicly its a dry broth in powder form.

  12. Dont know where to post this, since this is a dinner party type thing thought Id try here.

I need about 50 tables and 200 chairs to rent for 3-5 days, any got a lead where to rent them?

Nothing fancy just the usual street vendor type tables, but would probably need chairs with a backrest, color matching with the tables if possible.

  13. theres plenty of places to get good tools. homepro is the easiest id imagine, ive been using the 'Meta' brand tool set for about 5 years now, without failure...a whole set is about 2000 baht.

For extra hard work 'Kokan' sockets are good.

let us know wha prt of town you will be in, so we can direct you to a store...unless you want to travel across town.
