  1. I use ground flax seed on my oatmeal / oatbran in the morning, fantastic Omega 3 source.. I highly recommend it

if you like "things healthy" try boiling up some Quinoa which Villa does not always have but Foodland does, it's a complete protein source

with complex carbs and great fiber. You can add it to your oatmeal or make just about any meal out of it since it has

a neutral flavor, my favorite is adding it to a dish with baked Tempeh. I think it's the perfect super food combo meal.

Tempeh is only available mail order if you live in Pattaya right now, from here http://www.orgathai.com/ (I got mine in 2 days shipping time)

  2. Villa Market did have "Flax Seed Meal" when I was in there a couple days ago. The problem with Villa is they carry stuff, and then don't

for several weeks. I was looking for Oak Bran in there, and they had it. I bought all 3 bags, and then they proceeded to be out for

weeks again. I have no idea who does the ordering there, but they need help.

I did find more Oat Bran at Foodland, Foodland is great and they do understand stock. They just don't have everything I need that sometimes

Villa does. I'll be really bummed if Villa goes out of business, I worry about that whole area, it seems to be hurting.

  3. I know on Sukhumvit there are a few auto shops that do commercial jobs too. I had them do my bar/restaurant windows, and the job came out very good. PM me and I can try to get the name of the shop, but from memory its on Sukhumvit (across from the dark side) and right down the street from Soi Khao Noi.

  4. True is it, Works great all over the darkside!dry.gif

What do you call the darkside? 500 meters east of sukhumvith?

I'm at the top of Soi Khatalow.. would really love to know if True is able to do 3G to here, pretty sure it does not.

Also I saw an interesting flyer at UBC office the other day, 50Mbit down, 3Mbit up for 5600 Baht a month. I was ready to purchase

it on the spot, but the girl informed me it was full. I'd love to hear if someone has this product, and how the delay in Satellite

effects it. I've heard they have made some progress with Satellite Internet lately.

  5. finally ordered it from here http://www.orgathai.com/ and got it within 2 days, amazing and tastes good

    finally tempeh in Thailand

this drove me crazy for months, almost as much as the Nike shorts I like to buy that they don't have here in Thailand, but the label says "Made in Thailand"

thank you angiud and Travelish for the suggestions

  6. I recently was contracted with Hepatitis B, and I live in Pattaya. I just wanted to remind everyone that it's very easy to get the immunization shots and

prevent this disease. 95% of people who contract it are able to generate a life long immune antibody for it. 5% others don't do as well, especially if

you are a drinker or smoker. It can be fatal, or if you are lucky a liver transplant.

I'm lucky and 100% cured, can't give it to anyone and no one can give it to me now. I was pretty shocked to find out how many people I knew had it as well.

Including my wife and my maid, who both had the antibody and had no risk of getting it from me when I was sick. I was sick for about 3 weeks, and then had

to wait a total of 10 weeks to determine if I was 100% cured. Not fun!

So if you live in Pattaya (really anywhere in Asia), get the shots! Keep in mind it's about 100 times easier to catch than HIV and can even be transferred by sweat.

Regarding those who have had immunization shots-

If you have had shots in the past, you should go in and check and see if booster shots are required.

Question - One thing I'm not sure about the immunization shots:

Do some people develop the antibody and no longer need booster shots, and some don't? Maybe someone in the forum knows this question as its asked to me often now.

I hope this helps prevent a few cases

  7. I took that for a while, then switched to Celebrex and now I take Colcitex. With Colcitex I take maybe one tablet and its gone.

With those other two, it wrecked my liver or stomach, much happier with Colcitex.

You should go to Bangkok Hospital and have them advise you on it. I know Celbrex is very hard on the liver, and Indocin on the

    digestive track.

  9. If I was an activist, I'd leave that place spotless. That way you can potentially gain support. People would think, "I like these guys.. they are really organized and trying to clean up everything." Instead what I see there is a real lack or care of organization, not sure what Thai's think though.

Hmm maybe the Yellow shirts should go clean it up? That would be an interesting story in the newspaper.

    coming soon, "true grit"

http://www.sfcinemacity.com/index.php/en/movie-detail/True-Grit Does location or anything work for anyone else?

Release Date 24 February 2011 - never saw it... nice graphics but they don't have this movie

Try the "Today Showtimes" for the movies (btw it's not the movies they have).. results are nothing after search.

It's obviously a case of a poor webmaster and management that has no clue on how to check his work. And they problem

don't think it's that important. They hired the guy since he could throw up sexy graphics.

    sad

  11. This site drives me nuts! their flash, and overall plan to keep everyone stuck on their site for hours is frustrating. None of their functions work right.

Really don't like it! If anyone has a replacement in simple html, that's updated I can bookmark I'd appreciate it. Whoever the

webmaster is for sfcinemacity.com, they need to learn more about how simplicity sells more than confusion.

btw their Iphone app sucks worse

  12. I like Thai-Flashcards.com, they send me a email daily with new sentences. No dialogs per se, but thought I'd give them a referral here. Here is an example email:

  13. I have had the same experience with USPS priority international service. I'd say very reliable after 9 years of shipping stuff from USA, knock on wood, I've never had a package lost yet. That's about 6 a year I send too!

When the Ipad came out, I made the mistake of shipping it over by DHL or FedEx, forget who it was. Customs caught it, held it for 4 weeks, then asked for 10,000 baht tax or something like that. By that time, the Ipad was in every store. I'll never do that again.

  14. "5. Basic reservation page just using .asp ( active server pages )" - you might want to consider going to LAMP based site, asp developers are notorious for creating sites that don't work and don't scale well. Of course there are good asp developers, but they are hard to come by.

Another suggestion, whoever you get to work on it, when they are 10% into the job ask to see the code. Take that code and get a second opinion on it somewhere. Make sure you can take it to someone else if the company flakes or disappears. Many developers play dirty tricks and make it so you can't go to anyone else, then you are left with a stagnant site with no ability to fix or modify.

Elance.com would be a site I'd recommend since you can read the reviews of many other customers. There is absolutely no need to go with someone locally.
