  1. Unfortunately no good (or even bad) English channels being added to the line up even though there are several new ones available to this part of Asia.

That chart does show a few channels reserved for HD with a 9.328 Bit Rate.

Their HDTV has been there live since April of this year (a test pattern at the moment) - see Satcodx List 3 - Thaicom Ku which shows a list of all the channels on the Ku band, as well as HDTV.

  2. My source confirms that Samak will announce his resignation in the morning.

If he doesn't, I will run naked through the PAD crowd.

Get your gear off!! :o He's now been talking for over half an hour interrupted only by a short break for the National Anthem and has reiterated several time "I will NOT resign"!!

Photographic evidence posted in this thread please to prove you are a man of your word :D

  3. According to many reports and members, things will remain fine at the Int'l Airport. Suvarnabhumi is pretty much like a main artery to a heart. If that gets shut down... Chaos and economic disaster will ensue....

A massive international hub of an airport.

Shutting down the airport would trickle to many parts of Asia and other parts of the world for business and travel plans.

I am curious as to the amount of traffic that arrives/departs from Suva every day.

There are more port movement than air in Suva :o

  4. Thanks guys, I am going to contact the Singapore branch now. I have to go to immigration in Bangkok in about an hours time, so I may just pop into the Bangkok branch to see what they have to say.

    Thanks again,

    Norrad

I have been banking with them here for over 10 years now. If you get yourself a Premier Account there are little or no fees, but a minimum deposit does apply.

  5. I have read it's possible but I can't seem to find a user friendly way to do this. Has anyone done this before? If so, is it easy to do?

Yes this can be done and lots more besides.

We have recently updated the wiki-pedia on the Pli (the people who write the firmware for your boxes) website where it explains step by step how to do this.

Movieplayer streaming (most video formats) here Pli Wiki - Movieplayer

Generic streaming here (most video formats including HDTV & IPTV) here Pli Wiki - Generic streaming

  6. ok pattaya parent, have taken what you have said on board, but now trying to find out about the bus service from pattaya etc.

    chris

If you contact one of the casinos they will do a few things for you. If you are a VIP they will arrange a mini van for you and others, escort you across the border, arrange the Cambodian visa once you get there etc .. You simply need to ensure you have multi-entry visa in your passport.

  7. Probably the same one's that do those quality subtitles in English.

Different people and companies. My father-in-law does many of the Chinese to Thai and Thai to Chinese TV series and movies. But when you are only paying a few thousand baht per movie, for the translation you do not always get the best :o

  8. Help setting up

I used to have a two-dish "Dynasat" moving system.

Was crap, I bought a 7020Si Dreambox , now I am trying it to set it up with only marginal success.

Flashed the Pli Jade image, set it up on my Lan updated & set up the viewable satellites.

Where I get stuck, is trying to lock & store signals with the positioner.

I must have some wrong settings somewhere.

If I connect the box with the fixed dish , set it up with a single LNB , I can acquire the satellite immediately , so the box is good .

If you are familiar with the setup, please point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

So ask you dealer for help mate, the quickest and easiest way to do it and no fuss.

  9. It seems True is routing its traffic through CAT's international lines today, which are bringing much of the international traffic into a huge traffic jam. Here's a tracert to a server in Australia. As you can see, true's gateways are fine until they hit CAT's IP addresses:

  10. Hi,

My samsung Dwhatever is fast approaching the end of its duty cycle, and I need a new phone.

Wandering through MBK last week, I noticed many of these PDA type devices. For some reason I would like one.

Now I know nothing about these at all, and would welcome some buying advice and general information.

One I was looking at was a Dopod and it had GPS for 11,900 baht. Will this GPS work just like a Garmin system in a car ?

Also, can I have full access to the internet on these phones, not rubbish WAP sites ?

What else can I do ? What is a Blackberry etc..............?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

My favorate is the Asus P535 PDA/Phone... has GPS, Wifi, Windows 6 mobile, Internet, Mobile Office, MP3 and Video players with a 2gb card, and so much more. Like have a PC in a phone.

  11. Dunno we just deployed few 1000 Workstations with Vista - no complaints and they are humming along. VISTA blows XP away!!

Agreed 100% ... blows XP totally away and dam near as good as a semi decent linux box ...

Now all they have to do is pay $19.95 -to- $65.95 for everything they want to use it for or use the spyware, keylogger version. Then they can vista 15 differant sites just to get up dates. I ll stay with two clicks and a repos that does it all. Free See not even a commandline. I have been to the commandline as much in windows as Linux, differance is, the linux was still working when I was done. :o

Maybe I should have said we use both operating systems here, and the comment was aimed at how Vista lagged behind many of the later linux distro's.

  12. Simplest thing to do (although probably not the cheapest!) is to get a PDA phone running Windows Mobile. You can install Skype on it, surf the web, et al.

Agreed and if you use the Asus P535 PDA/GPS/Phone it will also do Skype over GPRS/Edge as well when you have no wifi ...
