Very interesting thing about the Australian Pub & Grill Sukhumvit Soi 11 is not one Aussie owner in the company.
Aussie manager I think.
Oh Well.
And history teaches us how much the English love the Australians ...

DELL Thailand recently distributed a catalog with several desktops that appear to be the same as the ones sold in the U.S.
Here's the contact info from the catalog:
www.dell.co.th/dm
Toll free phone:
1-800-060-091 and 001-800-601-5621
Confirmed we got the same catalog from them. Dell is based in Malaysia (not Thailand) and ship everything within 3 days. Good people to deal with and their local support is great.

So how do we lay-people remove it ?
-
or simply press the F1 key when you are on the desktop and read the Microsoft help already in your box with real examples.

I know that it's possible to have short-term call forwarding from a TT&T landline to your mobile. Does anyone know the number or code that you must call in order to have your calls forwarded and/or cancel call forwarding?
Thanks,
If it is like other telephone operators here in Thailand you have to register for the service first, then they will give you a code like *21*phone_number_to_forward_to#

I renewed my 5 year license today in Bangkok, at the Land Transport Office in Sukhumvit;
1. Copy and original drivers license (5year one about to expire)
2. Medical Cert. from the local doctor (80 Baht)
3. Embassy letter for proof of address
4. Translation of embassy letter in Thai
5. Copy of Passport and signed as true copy - Need to show the original in the first stages
6. Normal eyesight, preceptive, and brake test, alone with the dreaded 45minute movie subtitled in English
7. 5 Year renewal fee 605 Baht
All done for another 5 years. My new license even shows when I first got a Thai license back in 1999.

PLi® releases OpenPli to the worlds developers
AUGUST 13th 2009: PLi® announced today that it has made its world renowned PLi® software for the DreamBox set top boxes available under a GPL License. Another first from the Dutch development team and for us the end users.
PLi® headed by Peter Lindeman and a team of developers based in Holland, Belguim and the USA, started to develop the PLi® software in 2004 when he took over the development reigns from Ronaldd who retired from development scene the same year. Peter has now build a team spanning the globe with alpha and beta testers in Canada, Europe, Mexico, New Zealand, South Pacific Islands, Thailand, and the USA and now you too can join in with OpenPli.
The team did also pointed out that all development is done on a "love for the hobby" model and all have full time jobs.
One of the senior PLi® developers said "When I started with dreambox development, one of the main hurdles was the big difference between tuxbox-cvs and the more advanced closed images. Opening the PLi repository will certainly be a big incentive for individual developers to start with dreambox development and contribute to better dreambox software."
OpenPli is the public source repository for the PLi® software that runs on the DM500, DM56x0, DM600, DM7000, DM7020, DM7025, DM800, DM8000 and shortly the DM500 HD series of set top boxes for Cable, Terrestrial and Satellite TV and radio.
You can see the main OpenPli repository here OpenPLi, PLi's Public Repository
You can see the sourceforge page here https://sourceforge.net/projects/openpli/

You could have something there Jack. I've installed VirtualBox and will put XP on it tomorrow. I wonder just how well it runs. Could I run games in it for example? It was quite easy to set up. If it proves not to up to the task I will do a real XP install.
I use vmware on mine and it works fine running win7 and OSX 10.4 with games and other application like SlingPlayer & HavaPlayer that wine will not run.

Used it bot already 8am today
People who can read would see Georges post was referring to yesterday
Hold your horses! Ever heard of time zones?
Yes and assuming you are in the furtherest time zone before us (i.e. NZST = TST + 5hrs) it was working by then.

There are many botnets out there, and you do not need any computer skills to rent one to do a DDOS attack.
I wonder how many computers were used for this BotNet from Thailand? As the net was unusually slow during this period (slower than normal).
-
Mail is included in Tiger, OSX 10.4 already and as said above Safari will do their hotmail as normal.
-
The TG Daily blog are saying it has been released to production already ..
-
The government law enforcement of the world has been impotent, so it is good to see some of the heavies on the Internet finally teaming up against hackers. Maybe spammers could be next. We can always hope...
One would assume it is one in the same BotNet doing both .. BBC Click did a great TV programme on this back in March of this year.

anybody know about dynasat? http://www.dynasat.com/spec_sheet/C-Digital%2002FEB2005.pdf
The data in the link above is from UP DATE FEBUARY 2, 2005 so a few years out of date (most of the channels have either changed or gone) , and that might also tell you something about the company who posted them.

I never could get it to work properly on my Asus laptop. It does work on my Toshiba, albeit with sound only from one channel.
Mine is an asus notebook and the image above is from the very same.. A shame you never got it working as it does work.

The message I receive is "not enough free disk space". My ext. HD has over 100GB free space so I'm not sure why I would get that message.
Is it because the current media apps you use, cache the files on your local drives temp directory and you do not have enough space there to do this? If so use VLC ( http://www.videolan.org ) and these issues will go away.

This is the limitation of the internet and international connection. And it exists everywhere in the world. People really need to educate themselves more about this.
If TV ever had an award for the post of the year, with this post, you would have won that award. Well said.

this data shows clearly they can't! At least not provide international bandwidth of 8mb. So, all these super high-speed promotions/announcements are clearly meant to be "local bandwidth" only...
And that is IMHO misleading a lot of people!
It is only ever local bandwidth (always been this way) and it is the user who wrongly assumes it also means international bandwidth with a home package.
For what is worth the images above are from my 4mb line so I am pretty chuffed with True.

Try one to NYC, or London... Give it a real test.. Not a jog around the back yard.
CS
Why do you need these as it is all a bit off topic?
-
an international server test would be interesting
Like this one to Sydney Australia ?

I prefer to use the Linksys RV042 which is by far the most reliable in my experience.
Linksys RV042: At a Glance
Linksys RV042, formerly Linksys Business Series, now part of the Cisco Small Business Routers product line, is an advanced network router for small businesses. The Linksys RV042 helps your company stay connected to the Internet, even if your primary Internet provider's service goes down. The router also securely extends your full network to up to 50 offsite users.
The following is a brief overview of the Linksys RV042.
Linksys RV042 Features & Benefits
- Cuts networking costs by letting you share an Internet connection among multiple computers.
- Ensures your Internet service never goes down. Dual Internet ports on the Linksys RV042 enable you to connect to a second Internet source as a backup to your primary Internet provider's service.
- Boosts network performance. You can connect the Linksys RV042 dual Internet ports to the same Internet source. The router will balance traffic between the two ports for maximum network performance and efficiency.
- Securely connects up to 50 remote office/mobile users simultaneously to your network. The Linksys RV042's Virtual Private Network (VPN) capability supports up to 50 IPSec tunnels for branch office connectivity and up to 50 QuickVPN connections for mobile access to your network.
- Connects up to four computers via Ethernet cable (using the router's built-in, 4-port, full-duplex 10/100 Ethernet switch). Direct connections give computers maximum network security and up to 200 Mbps throughput per port. Alternatively, you can connect additional network hubs and switches to the Linksys RV042's ports, expanding your network as needed.
- Protects computers against intruders and most known Internet attacks via a powerful Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall.
- Easily configurable security settings. Using a web browser-based interface, you can configure the router to filter internal users' access to the Internet; specify exactly who may have access to your network; and more.
Cisco Small Business Routers
As part of the Cisco Small Business Routers product line, the Linksys RV042 is now known as the Cisco RV042 VPN Router.
Small businesses interested in advanced routers might also consider the Linksys RV082, now called the Cisco RV082 VPN Router. The Cisco RV082 offers the same core functionality as the Cisco RV042, with additional features that support more demanding network environments. For example, the RV082 supports up to eight wired and 100 VPN connections compared to the RV042's four wired and 50 VPN connections.
- Cuts networking costs by letting you share an Internet connection among multiple computers.
Where To Buy Quality Power Generator
in IT and Computers
Posted
and when the UPS goes flat (due to extended power outage) buy a Tiger gen set. The are a 2 stroke small sized gen set like the Honda ones we used to use years ago. They cost about 5,000 Baht and last about 4 hours per tank of gas more than enough for most power outages ...
