  1. only 8.5 billion a day...give or take a few hundred million.... The latest data shows that Google processes over 99,000 searches every single second (Internet Live Stats, 2022). This makes more than 8.5 billion searches a day (Internet Live Stats, 2022
  2. why not ..or just have an election and shoot any winners that you don't like or do a coup in the middle of the night and tell the voters that you and you alone know what is best for them....take "dear leader" as your nickname.
  3. There are a lot of folks who come across as having the iq of a bucket of mud or a box of rocks but think they are Einstein. 98 Most people (about 68 percent) have an IQ between 85 and 115. Only a small fraction of people have a very low IQ (below 70) or a very high IQ (above 130). The average IQ in the United States is 98.
  4. Sometimes you will see dumpy little bars that have way too many girls sitting out front. There is no way the bar can be paying them all a salary. Some of these bars get lots of girls who are looking for easy money on a straight commission basis ....if she can get you to buy her a 150-180 baht drink she may well get 100 baht a drink....get 5 guys a day to buy you a drink and you have made 500 baht a day which for many thai gals is not all that bad a payday....some of these gals would not be interested in being barfined or going with you unless she either really likes you or you throw silly money her way. Some may be looking for a full time boyfriend to go live with IF you meet her standards re age/looks/$$ etc. The bar is able to attract a lot of drinking guys without having to pay salaries to the gals if they do the straight commission gig...the girls that sell a lot of drinks will do well and the ones that don't will drift away. There are more than one type of bar and many more kinds of "bar girls".
  5. If as was reported the video was reviewed and nothing to see then why in the world would the RTP not have had a big press conference, release the unedited video , make a big deal out of it and prove the RTP did nothing wrong? Any PR company in the world would advise them to get that video out there asap and kill the negative story quickly. Me thinks there is something on that video that is "troubling". Prove me and all the other suspicious people around the world wrong and release it now and have the gal shown to be the liar/conwoman/click bait pile that she is being accused of being. I am sure the taiwanese media would be all over it.
  6. yes Pattaya is pretty busy right now...but....has there been a year in recent history when the snowbirds don't start to return to their home countries in the springtime? And regular tourists prefer to avoid the off season weather of Thailand when it is hotter, rainier, smokier? It is simply a more pleasant time to visit most areas of Thailand between Nov and March,,,add to that those are often freezing cold weather months in a good chunk of the world and no big surprise. Also the summer months in Thailand are often the very best months to be in North America/Europe etc due to good weather there. Maybe the Russians and Chinese and Indians will pour in even more during normal soft season but I don't see that happening with tourists from North America/ Europe. The condo where I live is pretty full right now...but the property managers say check back in late March or April as lot of people leaving then.
  7. it is already a public spectacle so if the tape shows no wrong doing who in their right mind would not release it to kill the story and demand an apology to the RTP... ..we all know how much they like to have photos with a gang of cops all pointing to the perpetrators of various crimes....never seems a problem getting those pics out quickly...
  8. yep but how many border bounces are allowed per year? and sooner or later the air asia bounces will likely not please immigration if overdone....i am betting a year from now there will be a lot of overstays to be dealt with...or maybe a lot will ultimately go to cambodia and settle in there for a while....but i guess if they do have the $$ it's not that big a deal as that will get you one year visas with a proper reward to agent/immigration without too much trouble...i doubt many would want to get deported back to russia if they are not part of the putin gang....
  9. So what about the video at the police station? Surely there are cameras there that record everyone entering and leaving? And where is the police report of such a horrible incident that surely the police would write down the basics? There is a reason that most countries require police to wear video cameras....and does anyone really believe that at least one of these gals would not have recorded it all on their phone video...hell they record what they had for lunch on their phone....did the girls just decide to delete it or were they as stated forced to do so? If video showed nothing happened then gals might delete....otherwise cops would want it deleted. So lets see the official police videos from every camera as well as police station and the police logs if there were koreans also there as she says....if the cops say oh sorry don't have that then i think that would be damning evidence cops are hiding something. In other words look at the evidence. Isn't that sort of police investigation rule number one in any investigation? If police have videos that clearly show she never entered police station and no koreans there that would certainly make her less credible and the police should get it out there asap to aid their side of story. What's the delay? They either have it or they don't.
  10. So when all the 30 day extensions are used up and if the Russian war continues to draft and send the Russian people off to fight the war how many of the current Russian tourists will become overstays? I for one would prefer to stay in nice warm cheap Thailand than go back to brutal winters and a brutal dictator. There are tons of condos all around Pattaya owned by Russians who likely would be happy to get a bit of rent from some fellow ruskies. I could be wrong but I predict massive numbers of overstays coming soon. Will Thailand look the other way or actually round them up and deport? Are immigration and other government officials all licking their chops at the thought of big envelopes headed their way for dodgy visas?
  11. These cops sure do have a lot of different versions of what happened....it's not rocket science...just tell the truth...why did you stop her, why was she detained, how much was her "fine" and what was it for, where is the receipt for said payment, is it on camera, etc etc...basic police report 101 that barney fife could handle...
  12. yeah oh boy if only trump had been able to overthrow the election then he could have been more of a tyrant dictator like his buddies putin and dear leader then trump would have told putin what to do and putin would have laughed in his face like every other world leader did for past four years.....trumpers don't seem to understand that trump is finished because he was a horrible president that would not take advice from any of his own hand picked "best and brightest" cabinet and advisers....all of whom he praised to high heaven when appointing them only to fire them and call them incompetent idiots when they dared to tell him what he did not want to hear....and of course mr bone spur knows more than all of the US generals who actually experienced war, studied war, lived war first hand while trump was playing golf and grabbing em by the pxxxxy
  13. Go spend a day at immigration in Jomtiem and see how tourists who are in thailand already and would like to stay a bit longer are treated like irritating herds. Part of any promotion should also include trying to make it simple and easy for those who might want to stay and spend money for another month or two without suspecting they all have nefarious intentions when most simply want to extend a vacation a bit longer. As for the expats...promote a snow bird visa for six months avail once a year that is online and simple to get as long as clean record etc....there are a LOT of snowbirds worldwide that go to mexico or spain or wherever to spend cold winter months in warm climates....not exactly tourists but not exactly residents. Promote the off season to snow birds from countries down under etc whose seasons are reversed and would very nicely be added biz during Thailand's low season. Promote that Thailand has warm weather year round and welcomes snow birds....lots and lots of retired couples come here rent condos or hotels spend a pile of $$ and get treated like <deleted> ( and yes often yelled at ) by immigration with visa extensions involving tons of worthless forms to be filled out, copies of this and that, 1900 baht fee or pay an agent even more....even with a tourist visa after 60 days have to do extensions and/or a visa run to cambodia (3500 thb min and wasted full l day) or fly away to vietnam or ??. Are these snow birds really some kind of threat to Thailand? I see a lot of trade show junkets in list of targeted countries which will be very nice expensive paid trips for a lot of TAT staff and especially big bosses to go visit these countries stay in top hotels, wine and dine, etc. I know this as I used to actually do a ton of these "junkets" (not in Thailand) all over the USA, Canada, Europe etc and can say that it was a very nice life indeed....Spend a few days at a trade show, stay in top notch hotels, go to a lot of fancy dinners/receptions, get treated like royalty....all on the Tourism authority's or hotels or attractions $$.....sweet.
  14. I guess but I personally think both the taste and aroma of brown rice is superior to white rice not to mention it is healthier and requires less processing. I do not claim to be an expert on Thai food tastes...maybe white rices mix better with all the chilie peppers and variety of sauces they use?
  15. Yes it is cheaper but is it because the supply of white rice is much more than brown. I lived in the rice paddies for several years and watched the planting and harvesting. I used to think that white rice and brown rice are two different plants but learned it is the same plant. The difference is white rice requires milling to remove the bran which is actually healthier while brown rice does not...so why over the decades did Thais decide to go for the rice that requires more not less work to produce? Why did they not just stick with the brown rice and skip the extra expense of milling? Somebody must have somehow somewhere convinced Thais to go the white rice route.....that is what i do not understand. In short, brown and white rice are the same grain, just milled differently. Brown rice still has the bran. They're both harvested at the same time, but if you remove the bran, you have white rice.
  16. Does the thai police station where she was taken not have cameras that record people coming and going and interrogations? It would seem unusual these days if she or her friends did NOT at least try and record a video of the initial stop/demands.....so seems believable to me that cops did not want that video to remain in her possession. Why would they be concerned with being videoed if did nothing wrong? In fact they should WANT a video to prove their innocence or whatever it is they claim they found that involved going to police station and paying $$. If all the gal wanted was social media fame a video is almost a requirement to go viral so of course she or her friends would be filming away. And if korean tourists were also there check the police station cameras to ask what that was all about. If Thai police honchos cannot get to bottom of such a simple charge good luck ever doing any real police work.
  17. food court so thai couple had already paid.....
  18. along the same line why is it that Thais all seem to eat white rice but little if any brown rice? it seems that brown rice would be cheaper as not as much milling required...plus it is said to be healthier and to me it sure tastes better....so why so much white in Thailand? Never understood that.
  19. yes it is a pain in the butt for sure...this year i got 60 day tourist visa online..then two trips to immigration to get a 30 day extension as landlord did not file tm3 properly....then a full day van ride to cambodia for 45 days more....3500 thb and waste of day....then back to immigration for 3 hours to get another 30 days...when all said and done i got 165 days still 15 days short of six months so leaving two weeks earlier as don;t want more hassles to stay two more weeks.... cost me original 60 day online fee +3500 to cambodia van run plus 1900 x 2 at jomtiem plus hassles of standing in long lines and being treated like crxxap at immigration...was there yesterday and lot of people were getting yelled at by immigration guys for wrong line wrong form wrong whatever...copies of this then more copies of that...what a joke......i would have gladly paid more for a one time snowbird visa for six months....also as getting older it is not so easy to do all that travel and stand in lines etc etc...but....
  20. speaking of six months....if you get the 60 day tourist visa online then get a 30 day extension can you then go to vietnam or laos and stay a few days then get another 60 day tourist visa and then another extension to give you six months? i would not mind leaving for a vietnam visit for a week or so if that is possible...would it be done online from vietnam or go to thai embassy or?....anyone know ?
  21. well you were not there i don't think so you did not see what i did now did you?
  22. no idea but sure are a lot of "agents" there that appeared to my eyes to be getting special treatment and i suspect that might result in a few thank you envelopes to some immigration bosses who enable it....
  23. was at jomtiem immigration today...i think a ten minute investigation would uncover a lot of nefarious visas being procured in preferential ways for a brown envelope properly distributed..
