And one more time: the shots do not guarantee that you won't get covid...but they do greatly increase your odds of having a mild case rather than a hose stuck down your throat that requires a hospital and docs and nurses have to deal with you.

So back to original questions if anyone knows? What kind of visa for most of the charter flight folks..hard to believe they all are elite visa? Are Russian credit cards accepted in Thailand? Are Russians able to transfer funds from Russian banks to thai banks? If not how do they get sufficient $$ to live on? If Thailand begins to round up overstays will they be deported or could they just flee to cambodia or maybe Burma?

I think that most of them arrive on charter flights which would usually be a package of some sort including return fights,,,,so if they skip the return flight then what? Is Thai immigration going to attempt to round them all up? Could be a very big job. Once i recall the Russians credit cards were not accepted in Thailand...did that change? I suppose a lot of them arrived with a big stash of cash as maybe not so easy to transfer $$ from russian banks but i really do not know....overall seems that immigration would have a lot of questions for arriving Russians but so far what i see is Thai poitiicans doing special welcomes to LOS photo ops with flower garlands for Russian charter flights. Who knows but it sure seems that there could be a massive number of overstays or flat out don't leave til caught or war ends one of these years

Sure seems to me that there could well be a lot of Russians not anxious to go back to Putin land when their visa options all expire? Will Thailand round them up and deport them? There has been no clarity on what happens if we stop paying the bills (obviously a hospital isn't going to tell you that it's "ok" to do that) or what happens if we try to transfer him elsewhere, or even how that would be logistically possible. Seems to me that the most viable option is to just tell hospital in no uncertain terms them there is no more $$ to pay the bill and then the hospital will do whatever it is they do in such a circumstance....i doubt it is the first time that they have had a critically ill farang in the hospital that had no $$....I think the hospital would likely contact his embassy and in meantime keep providing care. Hard to imagine any hospital would just dump him on the street to die. As long as the hospital thinks there is a chance that OP or someone will come up with the $$ they are not likely to offer any suggestions so need to be firm that there is NO $$. Do you care that people who buy or do long term leases in condos don't want to live in a building with tourists from all over the world checking in and out, clogging elevators, pools, lobby areas.....often coming home late at night drunk and loud? Is it ok if a one week rental has 8 people staying in a unit designed for 2 or 3? If you want to go into the hotel business than build or buy a hotel and follow the law.
