  1. They can and do ask for the source of income when showing transfers from abroad. I have had to show proof of the source of my income when using transfers from abroad for 3 extensions since the rules were changed. The cost of transfers into Thailand can be lowered using Wise and others. There are not many choices for transferring out of Thailand and Wise is certainly not one of them and the are not all that cheap.
  2. You can get a Thailand Pass at this time with only 30 days of covid 19 insurance.
  3. 1. That rule went away in 2008 when the issued a new order that limited visa exempt entries at land borders to 15 days and that order was replaced by new rule limiting land border entries to 2 per calendar years. Just another case of Thai embassies and consulates have outdated info about visa exempt entries since they have nothing to do with them. 2. There is no written rule limiting the amount of time you can stay in the country with any type of visa over any period of time. The only limit is the permit to stay you get when you enter the country and what the allowed extensions of that entry allow.
  4. Some offices have issued them to those that entered visa exempt or with tourist visas that changed to a non immigrant visa. All a person can to do in that case is to try and apply for one.
  5. People that did not really have any money in the bank are to blame for that. Immigration put the new rules in place to try and prevent that from happening. The is big difference between the 2 types of extension is that extensions based upon marriage are for humanitarian reasons not just a way to live here like retirement. You might be surprised by number of wives that are helping to support their family.
  6. If you entered the country with any non immigrant visa the new order states you cannot apply for 60 day covid 19 extension.
  7. The way immigration offices prevent that is by asking for proof of the source of your income. I don't think many people are doing it that anyway since it would be costly way to try skirt the requirements due to the cost of sending money in and out if the country. Why should they? It is meant to be money to live on for a year.
  8. I don't think it can access any records other than those stored on the site. There is no check of your records when doing a report on the new site. There is only one page when doing one. The submitted reports are then approved or disapproved at the the office you are reporting to.
  9. Interesting the new system is sending out reminders for the next report date. You must of been one of the first ones to do one on the new site.
  10. A off topic baiting post and a reply to it have been removed.
  11. I have just cleaned up this topic after removing several off topic and baiting posts meant to deflect the topic and the expected replies to them.
  12. You can get a single entry non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai at the embassy or consulate. They may not be not issuing multiple entry non-o visa at this time.
  13. I assume you are on a extension of stay based upon retirement and will be entering a re-entry permit. You will only need 30 days of insurance to get a Thailand pass if you select returning to Thailand when you register for a Thailand Pass. You can get a 30 days of insurance on the site for 3700 baht on this site up to the age of 99. https://www.tipinsure.com/CovidRegional/product_detail
  14. I have merged two of you topics and removed another one as a duplicate topic.
  15. The covid 19 insurance is mandatory to get a Thailand pass. Just checked this site that will issue the insurance up to a maximum of 99 years and it show 3700 baht for 30 days of insurance. https://www.tipinsure.com/CovidRegional/product_detail How long do you plan on staying when you travel to Thailand? Since your a married to a Thai you can apply for non-o visa that will allow a 90 day stay that can be extended for 60 days to visit your wife. You can click a button to find more insurance options on the homepage of the Thailand Pass site. See: https://tp.consular.go.th/
  16. You should be able to apply for 60 day covid 19 extension at immigration. A letter from you embassy is not required. You will complete and sign a affidavit stating the reason for your extension.
  17. In your case you will only need 30 days since you will be using a re-entry permit.
  18. Not sure they even do that and it would be a criminal background check for here in Thailand.
  19. You will only need $50,000 of covid19 insurance. They apparently have not updated the site yet. Thirty days should be enough but since the visa allows a 90 day entry they may want to be that long. Just an error when it states statements.
  20. 1. You will need a copy you new passport photo page. Copied of you old passport pages as well that are needed to the extension. You will need this form completed: Transfer Stamps To A New Passport 2. They give you one when you pick up your new passport at VFS. 3. You could apply for your new extension now.
  21. You need your current extension of stay based upon working has to be canceled by the office that issued it. To cancel it you will need a letter from your employer stating the day your job will end. If you go immigration before that day they will post date it do the date on the letter. On the day it is canceled you will need to apply for a new extension of stay.. No need to leave and re-enter the country with a new visa.
  22. They issued a order in January extending the order for the covid 19 extension to March 25th. But in the new order it states only those that entered visa exempt or on a tourist visa can apply for them.
  23. 1. The were issued a single entry non-o visa based upon marriage. 2. It should be possible if you have all the supporting documents.
