Non-immigrant "O" Multiple entry visa 90 days
ubonjoe replied to North's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The e visa site main page may not show the multiple entry option. It will require starting a application to find the multiple entry option since not all embassies and official consulates will issue a multiple entry visa. -
They can get a non-o visa and then one year extension of stay at immigration. Requirements for the non-o visa is here. https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/8.A-PERSON-WHO-HAVING-RESIDENCY-IN-THAILAND-NON-O.pdf Embassies and official consulates will issue them but the wording can be a bit vague.

Not all offices ask for the Kor Ror 2. Since you have only been married for a short time the Kor Ror 2 will not need to be updated by getting a print out of it done. The Kor Ror 3 marriage certificate will never need to be updated. You will need at least 15 days remaining on the 60 day extension to apply for the non-o visa. Requirement for the non-o visa is here. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022C1_06.pdf

You will mail your current passport to the embassy with the application form. When the new one arrives they will mail both to you. You can pay for the new passport online or with a bank draft. Info is here on the embassy website. https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/adult-passport-renew/

If you enter the country using your new passport a letter from the embassy is not required to have you stamps transferred. When entering the country you would show both passports to your re-entry permit in the old one. If you apply at the US embassy it is done by mail and takes 2 to 3 weeks to get new one. They will send the letter for immigration with the new and old passport.

Covid Visa extension question
ubonjoe replied to MangoRice90's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The 60 day covid 19 extensions of stay have ended for everybody. There are no exceptions. -
When you apply for a non-o visa at immigration it will take about 2 weeks for the application to be approved. That is why you need at least 15 days remaining on your stay to apply. Requirements are here: https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022C1_09.pdf You could also apply for the non-o visa in Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos instead of just doing a border hop to get a visa exempt entry. requirements for Savannakhet is here. https://savannakhet.thaiembassy.org/th/publicservice/non-immigrant-visa-o-visa-retirement-in-thailand?page=5d84a44c15e39c26b400453e&menu=5d84a44c15e39c26b400453f For just a border hop doing it in Cambodia would be the nearest location if in Bangkok.

Just out of date info written before covid 19 and the coup in Myanmar. They are closed to foreigners due to the coup government does not want them to enter. -

Visa run required to change to ED visa?
ubonjoe replied to sadmoneysnow's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I am not aware of such a rule. I think it might be easier to apply for a non-ed visa at a nearby embassy or consulate. -
Visa run required to change to ED visa?
ubonjoe replied to sadmoneysnow's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You cannot normally apply for non-ed visa if attending a language school. See: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/3.FOR-EDUCATION-NON-ED.pdf You will not have a problem entering the country with a non-ed visa. They only make problems for those entering visa exempt. -
No insurance it is required to apply for a extension of a non-o visa entry.

You will apply at Chaeng Wattana immigration. Same entry as before. You can walk in to do the application or make a appointment. Appointment is done here: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/ImmigrationOfficeGovernmentComplexChaengWattanaRd@imm1division.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/ I assume you mean a TM6 arrival card that are not being done now. You can apply without one. You will use a TM7 form with one 4 X 6 cm photo attached to do the application.
