You're gonna bake a cake whilst in transit or something, mate? :/
-
I think KFC is an obvious one as Thais are well into fried chicken anyway
If I grew up in Thailand I am not sure I could justify the ridiculous price of fast food like McDonalds or Burger King (140, 150?) to eating Thai street food

The plastic thing seems popular all over Asia and here in Middle East too.Does seemed to be ingrained that plastic covering thing.
Had to go to a Hospital last year (in Thailand) and they still had the plastic covering on the waiting room seats.
At the Farmhouse, most of the photo framed photos are wrapped in plastic ... but that is apparently to stop the sparrows sh*it*ing on them.
.
An Indian friend of mine explained to me that with car seats, perhaps some sofas and things like that they keep it wrapped to 'protect' it. i.e. it won't get ruined (during the warranty period, for instance) so when you finally take the plastic off 6, 9, 12 months later you have a brand new item even though it's been used for a fair while

I have used OK Cupid to get laid when I have been back in the UK, it's very 'American' though. Some of the questions on there, <deleted>
Can't imagine too many Thai chicks being bothered to trawl through those questions, which supposedly assist the matching (keeps matching me with bi-sexual women :/

Need something to pass the time working in fast food industry
I think I'd be the same "what's that guy doing over there ... look at him ... just standing there. Do you reckon he's mad"
-
I think some people maybe just want to remain in Thailand and perhaps can envisage doing that without a Thai Lady to assist them with the place to live, etc rather than find alternate ways to stay
-
I am not a super regular poster but I don't live in Thailand
I live in Dubai but spend a fair bit of time in Thailand and have done for near 18 years
and have some friends spending a lot of time there and other people I know
I would never claim to be living in Thailand if I wasn't, what would the point of that?
I didn't think for one second that everyone on here is living in Thailand nor do I care if they are/aren't.
I guess if I asked for travel info then it's better to listen to the person that lives in Thailand
that I can gauge from their posts they live there or some info about pubs or happy hours then of course
someone on the ground would be better to listen to .. I am not sure anyone would lie in that situation though tbh

Haha, well said, sir!
-
Nice story but they saw you standing there and no one said 'you have to take a ticket'. Sign or not
-
I don't like the idea of of holding these pretties lives in my hands .. you have the power to end their 'career' of being quite fit .. that's a lot of responsibility, buddy!
Good shout on the fitter they are the worse the beer is too
Totally agree

How much is the usual water and electricity 'units'?
I see some places on sites quoting 8 baht per unit or something, is that reasonable? 8 baht seems to come up quite a lot. I understand landlords can make money out you in this way, i.e. real price is x but you pay X+Y for each unit
Seems a bit sneaky, why not as cost? What is typical per unit rates?

I think we all went through this before, there is no connection with farang meaning 'guava' and it being some description of us actual farang. People have come up with 'oh cause it's soft and easy to squeeze' or stupid stuff like that but there are no links that they are refering to us as guavas in any way
Guava is called Farrang in Thai. It's a thread obviously created by someone with a chip on their shoulder.Hmm, I'm not sure this concept is appealing to me.
I understand 'Farang' and I understand 'Thai' within the OP context.
Maybe I'm missing some meaning not familiar to me, but what do you mean by 'Farang fruit' or 'Thai fruit'???
Unless it is akin to 'fruit cake' or 'nut cake'? Not trying to be a smart-alec here, just genuinely stupid...

I am not sure this notion that all Thais online are hookers or scamsters. The world is changing, internet dating is huge now and I am sure there are a fair amount of hookers and scamsters but I am sure regular women use it too, as is evidenced by the success stories
I think internet dating suits Thailand actually, I can see it being popular for the run-of-the-mill Thai as much as it is for Brits and Yanks

What's the typical price in that part of town then, not necessarily your house?
-
I assume that's done when they scan the passport?
Any monkey can get a visa to enter Thailand and any other country - when was the last time you were checked for a criminal record? How did he get the visa to enter Thailand and a job in the first place????

There was someone around my estate back in London that had a daughter that had kids of her own about the same time as the mum herself had another kid
Sounds really chavy but they were actually quite nice so this kid of 4 years old is the uncle of his playmate of 3 or 4 also

Not depending on tone, depending on entirely different spelling and word.
I assume you mean ควย (khuay) as a term for penis, which is a totally different word and spelling, including the opening letter to banana (กล้วย)

How much do you pay down there?there are virtually no tourists my end of 11. I suspect you have an opinion of the soi having ventured no further than 50% up it.
as regards your question:
-central location
-proximity to sky train
-variety of pubs/clubs/bars within a short walk
-2 grocery stores within walking distance
-ability to get anything i want day or night
-ability to get a taxi in under 5 mins day or night
-atmosphere
-large garden
-2 bedroom house
-ability to meet attractive foreign women
-variety of restaurants
-excellent pizza
-excellent thai food
-excellent fish and chips (snappers)
- decent tapas
-decent german
-good pool tables
-proximity to schools
-excellent community of vendors and motorcycle people
-NO stray dogs
-low crime rate (not heard of a burglary in the area in 15 years)
-vast choice of hotels for visiting friends to stay in
-proximity to excellent middle eastern food
-choice of three hotel swimming pools i can use with my gym membership (not telling where)
-free grocery delivery
thats just a few of my reasons

Where do you prefer 10 minutes away? Genuine question, may be spending a few months in BKKI don't get why would someone live in a tourist area (of bkk), unless he's a tourist ofc.
There are much nicer places to live, 10 minutes away from soi 11/nana by bts.
There is no:
- Rip off tuk tuk drivers
- Rip off taxi drivers
- Working girls (though, I wouldn't mind !)
- Beggars
Flats are cheap(compared to anything in nana), Food is cheap and the same or better. Drinks are a lot cheaper. It's not dirty as much. Not crawling with packs of young just-arrived for the first time tourists getting drunk, packs of people trying to sell drugs to you/scam you.. and all those other things that make tourist areas what they are. Tourist area. Get in get out.
I would go mad if I stayed there for more then couple of hours at night time.

I guessing this is a troll (super troll even
)
The writing is awful for a 'teacher' for starters
You're tried to hit as many of the 'hot topics' for the forum as possible though so I will give you 4/10

I think there is a difference between being 'allowed' to stay out for that extra beer or two and just staying out and not informing her indoors
If I was staying out later than I said by a reasonable time I'd let someone who was waiting for me know, especially if dinner is getting done, stuff like that
I don't consider it being a 'man' to go out and not tell someone when I am coming back but no one tells me how many beers to have for the sake of it ... last one, we have to wake up early. last one, we'll never get a cab ... put a reason on it and then I will reply in agreement or 'don't worry about it'
-
Yeah, the boat will collect you in Samui on the way through, as normal
I have done Koh Pha-Ngan to BKK via Nakorn Sri Thammarat myself. Have also done via Surat itself and with plane timings, etc Nakorn seemed better than just going to Surat anyway so no complaints
The ticket people are at the pier, show the ticket and they'll give you a coloured sticker so you know which bus to get on when you get to Donsak then mini bus to Nakorn ... it's all pretty smooth except for some shouting and organising buses but everyone knows which people are supposed to go on which bus

Got her knocking back the Bacardi Breezers, throwing up in the street and shouting 'hit 'im Kevin, hit 'in, that's the one that looked at me'?
* only joking, I realise not all farang girls are like those ones you get up North
** only joking, I realise Northern girls aren't all like that

Boy Mauled By Stray Dogs At Rayong Beach

I LOVE dogs but some of them in Thailand make me very wary
I remember on Koh Chang, before they did all the big developing in the middle bit there was a bit of 'no mans land' of near half kilometre with little in the way of light where you'd run the gauntlet of ropey dogs
They'd start off with a mild growl and do that thing where they're getting closer and you're not sure if they will go for you or not
I used to pick up a couple of rocks 'just in case'
