  1. Too many to mention!

Love some Khao Gairng ... I can eat at these kind of stalls and shops all day, every day

Num Dtok and sticky rice ... love it!

Like some simple Khao Pat Moo Grop (crispy pork fried rice) from the food to order street stalls

Can't forget Som Tum Poo. Moo Dairt Daew (sun dried pork) ... how long we got, I could go on all day!! :D

  2. They marry 'em (Farang teachers) at OUR university!

Sent from my tin can via string

Is there not any comeback from the university on this sort of thing?

There are plenty of University and College students in their twenties, so what would be wrong with a teacher marrying them if they went to teach at another school? or if the student herself went to another Uni?

Well, the key would be changing schools, wouldn't it. Hence the question

Without changing schools I would imagine it would be frowned upon. How would Thai teachers react, is it common for them to have relationships too?

  3. I have travelled extensively and probably watched TV in most of the countries that have it and without any question of doubt whatsoever, Thais are the worst actors in the world !!!

Toe curling ham acting where every programme seems to follow the same plot - boy meets girl, boy goes off with another girl, first girl bawls her eyes out for hours (without tears), before boy realises he wants the first girl back every single sodding day, day and night!

Might be why they don't get anywhere outside Thailand

I have to say a couple of 'serious' Thai films that I have seen the acting is perfectly fine

  4. I echo what others have said, it's too much time on actual trips and not enough relaxing. The thread title says chilling, dude!

I'd knock Phuket on the head, for starters and Krabi.

You'll be arriving afternoon, showering and getting out but morning on the road again. Personally, I'd go for 3 day stops in a few places. Ko Lipe on that side even and extra day on Lanta or Ao Nang or you won't be chilling, you'll be knackered, mate!!

There is a nice street of 5 or 6 bars in Haad Yai but it's not worth 2 nights

  5. I don't have a problem with Thai beer, I love Singha

Not such a fan of Chang due to strength, 6.4% and you can feel that after a few big bottles.

I always remember the old stories about Thai beer, formaldehyde in Singha, was it? Also, NO ONE knows how strong Chang is ... could be 6% ... could be 12%!!! It's not regulated, you see!!

People used to say this and I met a young-ish lad on one of the islands last year and he was telling me these stories about 'oh, I think this one is 12%' ... I laughed. They have got worse with the stories but they have been passed down

  6. Baffled people say don't admit anything and then next sentence say it was an accident :/ I would have also said to park somewhere else for a bit, not cause of CSI rushing it to bust you just in case someone decided to key your car or break a window for being a git

I think there's no point offering any advice until the OP comes back and updates the story

Woman still asking for money. Granpda with dead cat been spoken to? I assume we'll hear nothing

  7. You can add me to the list of guys that liked older women when he was younger. I even banged some Thai chicks when I was about this guys age. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere near the hooker-type market though, no interest

If this girl is giving out free sex cause of some perceived 'long game' she is playing then that is on her. He doesn't have to concern himself with her future, <deleted>, she can walk away anytime it's not working out for her

What is a no-no is you have deliberately (yes, deliberately!) tagged her and ruined her shit with her other guy. That's out of order, if you're happy for her to 'work' then why ruin her deal? I wouldn't cry too much, she'll have been annoyed but no doubt back to that guy giving him all sorts of excuses. I highly suspect he's not the only one

I wouldn't go thinking you're gonna have some deep relationship and stop throwing the word 'love' about though. Enjoy it for what it is and see where you are in 12 months

  8. 7/11 is always open ,why doe they have locks?

I know the answer to all of the questions,TIT!

Why is it called 7/11 if its always open?

I believe it wasn't common to even be open as late as 11pm so whatever the store was called changed it's name to 7/11 to highlight the 7 days a week and 11pm closing, which was pretty good

Since then they have taken up a notch to 24 but not changed their name to 7/24 though
