One thing great about Apple products is everything is backed up in the cloud.
So when you get a new item to replace to old item it is all automatic.
Yes, apple is more expensive but I am not buying new computers as often.
Windows also utilises "Cloud" And backs up etc, alternatively Dropbox, Google etc.

Dont forget to charge import taxes and VAT, Farang duties and whatever else you can invent on your "free" donation!

Many thanks for that useful info. You suggest then that I transfer all my existing Xcell and Word files to Data D and maybe photos too. Do I ensure that all new ones I create go to Data D as well by moving the documents file.
Always best to save anything on "Data D" Yes also save new ones to "Data D" as well.
As an extra back up I suggest you copy to an external memory stick / drive or save on "Cloud or dropbox"

I have asked my insurance company about testing positive on arrival and am i covered if i have to quarantine in hospital even though i have no symptoms. After being on hold for 10 minutes i was informed i would be as long as i purchased gold or gold plus cover which is the most expensive.
I have underlying health issues so that level is probably what i need anyway but it's best to get things confirmed too many grey areas leading to the brown stuff hitting the fan.
Very doubtfull that you will be covered.
Existing pre insurance health conditions will have weakened your immune system and contribute to illness, hence insurance will definetly not cover you.
Sorry, be specific when you speak ty them and ask for a written reply.

That was a good shop! He has already partitioned your hard drive. (ie split into two parts)
Acer are quite good and in my opinion, reliable.
Remember to transfer files to "Data D" partition.
(You always lose some GB's for memory system etc, thats why the differences)
If not, copy over. that way if your laptop ever needs re-booting etc, then only Acer C will be wiped clean in normal cicumstances.
Remember to buy a laptop fan, ie the type that sit under the laptop, it will keep the laptop cooler and stop dust getting inside etc.

How easy will it be to transfer all my Word / Xcell / Favs etc from my old computer to my new one if I stick with Windows software.
As long as your have Microsoft Office loaded on new laptop it is very easy, I suggest you have the hard drive partitioned from outset and place your files on separate part to operating system.

What a real mess! Far worse than earlier!
Dark red, red, orange, yellow, blue, strict zones, very strict zones, can go here, but not there etc! Can drink in restaurants, but Bars closed, early bed times, masks on or off?
Quarantine yes or no? Expensive arrival Taxis, crappy expensive ASQ Hotels.
High price testing before and on arrival and again later and maybe again on leaving. A mess even to just get to Thailand.
Insurances required, (I bet they will refuse UK Equity & Law Insurance, but will accept Thai issued same company Insurances! etc!!)
Tourist tax just to leave.
App tracking.
I dont want to live in my hotel room in Bangkok etc, I want to visit Koh Chang, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Hua Hin, Pattaya, stay at friends homes sometimes! Buy some Thai etc friends a beer at a local dive etc, Fat chance of that!
Wait, wait! Am I in a red, dark red, blue. orange, yellow zone, whats the time, is this a bar or a restaurant, have I had my tests, is my app tracking me, uh oh I see a guy in white hospital clothes staring at me, ambulance arriving, on the spot temperature testing, road cordoned off, sprayed down with bleach! Get my wallet out!
And this is for a holiday? No chance!

Still seems a lot of issues....pre-flight test £50-£150 costs, possibly expensive Airport pickup to quarantine hotel, quarantine for 1 night at high cost which might end up as 10+ nights if you have a a temperature etc, arrival tests at what cost, extra insurances (which I have strong doubts whether they would pay for 10 day quarantine).
I hope they eventually see the light and turn it on!

Is there not an ENT and audiology section at one of the hospitals where they can test what hearing problems you have and then decide if you need a hearing aid? Hearing loss is not always down to simply getting old.
Cholesteotoma and fluid behind the eardums are two reasons I can think of and there are other reasons.
BPH, Pattaya International etc do have Hearing Departments, the equipment they use however for testing is rather old.
You must insist before any testing you want a full print out and not pay until provided. (I should warn you the print outs are very amateur!)
The shop on the Sukhumvit have little to no testing equipment and I quote "She uses her experience to set them up?"
Once it is agreed you want / need a hearing aid then certain manufacturers come down from Bangkok, Phonak etc. (Even for BPH etc)
However I can with certainty inform you that they sell from stock available and do not have the latest type hearing aids, in fact they are "discontinued" old stock when checking on manufacturers sites.
Also the prices are highly overpriced. I would say the latest hearig aids in the UK are 1/3 of the Thailand price for example. In addition buying hearing aids designed say four years ago have no comparison to the latest technology.
So to sum it up, try and purchase when you visit the EU / UK. etc.

Whilst I feel that most likely the guy is guilty etc, why are we all suddenly believing everything in the news about this?
Its not as if Thai news is honest and the cops are exemplary in there information gathering?
We have seen in the past a multitude of wrong facts for and against foreigners when breaking the law etc.
I'm not in any way condoning this atrocious person, but wish sometimes it could seem a little more believable.

Photos and files, save to an SD card in old phone the put SD card in new phone.
Apps etc, backup old phone to google/playstore account, fire up the new phone with the same playstore email/login as the old phone, go to playstore and all your apps etc will be there
Yes, thats the best way, especially if old phone crashes. (N.B Also back up SD card to Google...in case you have lost the old phone and SD Card!)

Perhaps to do with sqeezing extra doses out of a phial bottle, not injecting in the same way ie given as a subcutaneous injection, use of Sinovac, mixing vacinnes not approved, lack of testing, believing the facts, Thailand insisting on quarantine...and so on?

Recently watched a few "You tube" videos of Pattaya.
I was rreally shocked at all the homeless and beggars etc and the terrible state of the builfings etc.
The last time I saw places like this was in Brazil and parts of Cambodia, what concerns me is will it be safe to walk down the Soi's at night bar hopping? I ask this as in some countries it is very easy to be mugged etc when places get badly run down. What do you think?
I'm hoping to get to Thailand as soon as rules are relaxed and this is a genuine concern.
Thanks for any replies.

"Always transfer in foreign currency, the exchange rate for baht is slightly better in Thailand than abroad, which might matters when transferring a larger sum."
More than slightly better...
eg. at today's rates for sending GBP10k
Lloyds Bank plc GBP/THB 43.22 = 432,200THB
Bangkok Bank GBP/THB 45.19 = 451,900THB
Wise GBP/THB 45.63 = 456,300THB
Just comparing the banks the difference is 19,700BHT = circa GBP430.00!
Your opinion but....I received a charge free (ie UK Bank aborbed there costs) and after Kung Thai costs I received 45.22 last Monday.
Most UK residents in Thailand know that transferring in Sterling is the best rate including costs.

I dont really know the issue.....with bars and restaurants closed etc and only recommended Hotels still, I hardly think there will a rush of millions of tourists, if they opened in October and say New Years eve opened bars etc, then maybe life could start,.

Accident a) Not you fault call the Insurance.
b) You fault call the Insurance.
a) Have a Thai DL no problem.
b) Not have a Thai DL you will be fined.
Some voluntary insurance companies will not process your claim not having a Thai DL.
You will still be covered by CTPL without a Thai DL.
If the police come to scene wait for your insurance rep.
In an Accident dash cam more or less reveals all.
Fair advice....but do not sign anything.....do not go to Police station without Car Insurance Rep, do not give up (keep a firm hold of) driving licence, do not give up Passport, admit nothing....offer no money, take photographs. Very useful if you have a Lawyer tel number or business card.
