Labour to Permit 100,000 Migrants to Apply for Asylum
Denim replied to Social Media's topic in World News
All good news for Dubliners. The ferries will be full crossing the Irish Sea to the UK and Dublin will once again be empty of tent cities. -

Could this work in Thailand if the MFP or a like party took over

You could never pay a Thai politician enough. They are in competition with each other and would always want more. Nature of the beast. -

Could say the same about many human states. Humans are all different . Happiness to one person might be abject boredom to another. A man sits at a bar stool with a cold beer watching a beautiful pole dancer. He is happy. Another man got so bored he left before finishing his beer. You can't nail emotions down. Either you have them or you you don't. My case was about the same as Folk Guitars. Married and divorced , said I would never do it again. Had scores of relationships with beautiful women who were degrees of nice or not nice. But when I met my now wife we instantly clicked and never wanted another woman since.

I think the local pigeons are too dumb to be scared by lazer light. I tried it many times but unless you can hit them right in the eye they are unfazed. It's cruel but I used sticky rat traps to bump off half a dozen that were trying to roost here. The dogs ate them when they fell to the ground stuck to the trap. Next I put netting up in several places. Problem 95% fixed. Our house had been vermin free for 9 years until I had to go to the UK for 6 weeks and everything went to <deleted>ee in my absence. Mice in the car air con ( 2500 baht to have it all ripped out and cleaned ) , nesting pigeons in several places and rats in the roof above the ceiling. It has taken me 2 months to get rid of all the rats , 12 in total spread between the 3 houses in our compound. So finally peace has been restored.

Well, there is this thing called love. Some people can live their entire lives without experiencing it , either from family or chosen mate. Naturally, for them there is no such thing. It is just a sham emotion fulfilling a need. There are others who , recognizing it exists, feel it is missing in their lives who then meet someone and immediately convince themselves they are in love and throw all caution to the wind. If things subsequently go bad they often become bitter and feel duped. Love just does not work for some people and so they might as well forget it and concentrate on their own pleasure. However, if two people genuinely love each other they know it. The only reason I can think of for getting married is that both parties love each other. Even so , it sometimes doesn't work out. You can fall in love and out of love. I lived with my wife for 8 years and we felt no need to get married. What finally pushed us was visa issues. It was easier to get permission to stay with her in Thailand being married. Now married for 14 years and no regrets.

I would think lions trump pit bulls as a burgler deterant.Eaten not bitten. But allowing people to keep these animals as pets on a private property ? No, you have to draw the line somewhere. -

Labour Set to Win General Election Landslide, Exit Poll Indicates
Denim replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Oh well. Rishi wanted to be the captain of his ship so bad that he forgot to look out of the window and see it was heading full speed onto the rocks. This left him in the ignominious position of being Captain when the crunch came. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Oh well. At least his exit comes just before the school hols so he can get away with the family after all. -
I don't really like beer much except maybe when eating out. But I have to say I tried Tawandeng Rose and up until now it is the only beer I have ever drunk that I felt compelled to pour down the sink after a mouthful. Horrible. How they can even call it beer beats me when it's nearest relative is SPY wine cooler ....equally grim IMO.

When you off to the Philippines Bob or has that been shelved. How you getting on without beer ? As for the topic, everything changes , nothing stays the same and the change is usually for the worse. Just too many people A long time ago I accidently got stuck in Cairo for a few nights. So....I went to the Pyramids. Went inside the Great Pyramid and had the whole place to myself except for two kids going the other way. Saw a youtube tour of the place last night. Scores of people going in and out yacking their heads off. My outstanding memory of the kings chamber is the smell of stale piss. Too many people traveling. Now I feel a Gamma Globin fit coming on :

Just the once. I was visiting friends in Pattaya and we went to eat at Lengis. I had a bad cold and sore throat and did not want any ice in my beer. The waiter came and was about to put ice in my glass. I held up my hand to stop him. ' My ow nam keng , my ow nam keng , MY OW NAM F>>>>>G KENG. He just smiled and filled the glass with ice , smiling all the time . He started to pour, I covered the glass with my hand. He just kept smiling and poured beer on my hand. Talk about thick. He quickly stopped and looked non plussed. I grabbed a fresh glass and the beer from his hand and poured my own. He must have been Burmese and only had one Thai word in his vocabulary. Nam keng. -
Thailand factory closures surge as cheap imports hit local industries

There is a bit in the BP about how China is surging ahead in the production of life like sex dolls with AI build in. Gonna be hard for the locals to compete about 5 years from now. -

Well, maybe the pile of brown envelopes is now so high they can't see over the top of it. -
I don't send Birthday Cards from Thaland now. No need. I use Moonpig : https://www.moonpig.com/uk/ Log into their site, select a card from their wide selection or design your own. You can write any message you like inside. They then print it off and send it from the UK to be delivered on the date you choose. Used many times and always works flawlessly. Very cheap . My mum always likes the personalized cards I send , usually with a picture of her on the front on one of her holidays to Thailand.
