Can probate be carried out -without the need of a lawyer?
Denim replied to Delight's topic in General Topics
As I have never tried to withdraw a large amount on my ATM card I am not sure. With my UK Atm card the limit when using it in Thailand has usually been 20,000 , and in the provinces not even that. But a Thai ATM card I don't know for sure. -

The only problem with the ATM withdrawal methos is that ( as far as I know ) there is a daily limit of 20,000 baht. I could be wrong so if someone wants to correct me on this I will appreciate it. The other slight problem is if the ATM machine is faulty and does not return the card. This has happened to me but luckily it was at a banks ATM machine so I was able to go straight inside and inform the staff who after a bit of mucking around returned my card. -

I get bored looking at vast expanses of painted wall so as a contrast I sometimes put up a wall papered section , panelled in to give contrast and be a backdrop for pictures etc. Our first small 2 up and 2 down in Bangkok. 15 years ago but the buyers of that house say the paper is still sticking.

As a reference this is what I used. Cheap as chips. Just regular paste but you can dilute with water.

You can buy wallpaper paste in plastic bottles quite easily. For best results I paste both the wall and the paper ! This way it stays up for years. At an absolute minimum you should wash the wall down with a damp sponge before you put up a strip of paper. This cleans the wall of any dust and the pasted paper sticks easier to a the damp surface. Just wash or paste a strip of wall 60 cm wide before each strip , not the whole wall at once. The problem paper hanging in Thailand is that sometimes it is so hot that the water evaporates from the paste and wall quickly so you need to work quite fast. If things dry out the paper won't stick. Make sure you work to a plumb line to start off. Cut each strip of paper a couple of inches too long. You can cut off the excess with a razor cutter when the paste has dried. ( don't cut when still wet ) If you have never hung paper before plenty of tutorial YouTube videos. Thai ones best as they are used to local conditions. Use a proper , wide pasting brush so you can work up to speed.

Had many late night meals at both Tip Tops , the one on Pat Pong and the one on Sukhumvit. But girls from Cowboy preferred to meet up at Thermaes.

Tell it like it is. -
In the old days 40 years ago used to discretely slip the girls 20 baht instead of wasting money on lady drinks. Everybody happy. Then the sex tourists turned up in swarms and the fun went out of it. Not been in a bar for at least 25 years. No need. Better watering holes well away from the tourist traps.

Are YOU, now, Too Old to BLAST the BLASTED Music?

Stratocaster of course. But sounds OK on my telecaster too....with a little reverb. -
I have an American acquaintance who built something similar but with only 5 bedrooms. Used local builders. Predictable disaster. Finished it with many problems , leaking roof , cracks etc. Gave it to his in laws in the end and moved to the outskirts of Bangkok where he again purchased something similar on an exclusive development for twice the price and very few issues. For something that big with that many rooms a few live in servants will be needed to keep it clean . Good servants hard to find unless you really pay top dollar.

Exactly. Well spotted. After all, you would not expect a die hard Democrat to volte face and vote for Trump ! -

Tend to agree, If he gets back in office it will be the haters and mud throwers that put hime there. Don't like the bloke much but I have observed how fickle the American voters can be. There are a lot of them who get star struck at voting time. The best way to stop his second term would be to field a better candidate than Bidden at the next election. Is that even possible ? Reminds me of how Boris Johnson got into office. Won by default. Even staunch Lavor voters didn't fancy having Corbyn in the countries driving seat. -
A song for the journey. Nice rip off of ELO song

I think Trump needs to pull a Jimmy Swaggart. Might help him bounce back. The punters love a reformed sinner. -
I had this issue when returning from the UK. Couldn't book for free until a day or so before the flight. When they were open for free booking there was a mad rush and nearly all the seats were rapidly prebooked. To ensure I got a seat on the flight I had to pay 150 pounds for a seat by the emergency exit which had lots of legroom as no seats in front of me. In the end I was glad I paid because the flight was completely full and the ordinary seats looked very cramped. I have always flown EVA in the past but after this I might consider another airline next time.

Swore blind to the wife they were on a golfing trip and that the nearest bars to the golf course were over 200 kilometers away. Now a vlogger shows them at the 19th looking to tee up on the 20th which has a very small ' green ' indeed. -
But he subsequently disappeared into thin air leaving only a few whisps of smoke.
