  1. Have they got a new favorite song yet or is it still the immortal :
  2. I am curious. Do these miscreants go to bars and take women too or are they just in Pattaya to hang together out of their parents eyesight ? Not read about any of them getting drunk ?
  3. Back in the day , if you lived in London they were one of the top picks of despatch riders. The other two were the bullet proof Kawasaki GT500 and the Honda RS 250 single. When the CX500 first came out I also thought they were ugly but in the end I saw so many of them I came to actually like their chunky looks and longevity.
  4. Yup MPH. Designed to compete with the dominant RD250LC two stroke. To achieve this the engine was very complex. DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder. , Liquid cooled 6 speed gearbox. Later models came with a nice fairing. I don't care for fairings much but this looked good. Specifications[edit] Engine Two-cylinder 90° V Twin, Four-stroke Displacement 248 cc Bore & Stroke 60 mm x 44 mm Valvetrain DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder Compression ratio 11:1 Maximum power 26.1 kW (35 hp) @ 11,000 rpm Maximum torque 21.5 N⋅m (15.9 lb⋅ft) @ 10,000 rpm Starter Electric Cooling system Liquid-cooled Transmission Six speed Drivetrain Chain Seat Height 780 mm (30.7 inch) Fuel capacity 12 litres Brakes Front: single inboard disc Rear: drum Dry weight 149 kg (328.5 lb)
  5. What an as*hole. If he were my dad I would just smother him in his sleep and feed him to the pigs.
  6. I believe you and would like to read a link if you have one.
  7. ' No no, I'm telling you, its my turn to go first '
  8. Sounds like the Thai braking distance.
  9. Nice bike. My friend had one in red and let me take it for a long ride. Very sweet indeed.
  10. Talking of V twins. Best bike I ever owned buit to compete with the Yamaha RD 250 2 stroke. A Honda VT250F Ton up possible, best handling bike I have ever ridden plus the previous owner had fitted upswept chrome silences . Looked great , sounded better than a Ducati whether opening or closing the throttle and capable of longer rides. Only serious flaw was it was an absolute pig to work on .
  11. Prefered what was on my T90
  12. I can just see Ronnie Pickering saying something like that.
  13. Thaksins on the blower right now. " Hello Santa , it's me , Tony again. I won't be needing that free ride into Bangkok after all. Sorry for the muddle and accept this small cheque to get some nice feed for Rudolf and the others "
  14. Chickens coming home to roost pretty quickly. Will only get worse for PT .
  15. And you are happy now at 6 and a half inches ?
  16. They call them retro because they are unfaired and not at all ' angular ' in their appearence. Agree with you about Hondas. A friend had a very nice 400/4. Sweet looking bike. Someone lent me a 400 twin for a few months. Not exciting but very functional.
  17. Yup, that Daytona I had twice suffered a complete wiring loom meltdow.....literally. The first , about 10 minutes after I had bought it and had to push it home half a mile up hill. Got a new loom fitted. Then , after I sold it on it had another meltdown on the new owner and he bounced his cheque and left it in a pub carpark . Had to borrow a friends van to go collect it then get another loom fitted. Not happy days. After that I switched to Hondas. What a joy to experience trouble free motorcycling.
  18. It just shows how out of touch I am with bike prices since I thought 108,000 was more than I would spend on a 400. That's what happens when the only prices you follow are of those of ' Stallions ' and other local stuff.
  19. Ha ha. Yes....quite a bit better than that. Got pictures but they are back in the UK
  20. I had two of these. An ex police bike single carb version plus one of the last 50 to leave the meriden factory. The serial number on the casing of this later bike was not the usual T100R but T100D since these last 50 bikes had a disc front brake plus ugly long silencers taken from the bonneville to comply with strict emmision controls in the USA. My last Triumph was a T90 350 cc rat bike. Here is one of the later T100Rs before the disc brake and ugly exhaust. How nice if they would have kept it like this but added electronic ignition and a Mikuni carb so that no more ' tickling ' would be needed.
  21. Indeed. Their plan was to make any invasion so bloody and costly to the Americans that they would hesitate to continue thus increasing Japans bargaining power over any surrender. As for the poster who thinks Japan had no fighting force : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrender_of_Japan Japan's last source of natural resources—the War Journal of the Imperial Headquarters concluded in 1944: As a final attempt to stop the Allied advances, the Japanese Imperial High Command planned an all-out defense of Kyūshū codenamed Operation Ketsugō.[10] This was to be a radical departure from the defense in depth plans used in the invasions of Peleliu, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. Instead, everything was staked on the beachhead; more than 3,000 kamikazes would be sent to attack the amphibious transports before troops and cargo were disembarked on the beach.[8] If this did not drive the Allies away, they planned to send another 3,500 kamikazes along with 5,000 Shin'yō suicide motorboats and the remaining destroyers and submarines—"the last of the Navy's operating fleet"—to the beach. If the Allies had fought through this and successfully landed on Kyūshū, 3,000 planes would have been left to defend the remaining islands, although Kyūshū would be "defended to the last" regardless.[8] The strategy of making a last stand at Kyūshū was based on the assumption of continued Soviet neutrality
  22. Most Thais will be condemning them for a stitch up of Mpve Forward. The electorate will not forget. If there is ever another election , and if there is another reincarnation of MF then PT will take a beating.
