  1. So far I agree with the answers I have received. So I have not missed anything. FUBAR is what I had concluded also.
  2. I thought I was familiar with the history of this conflict but having read many posts on AN concerning recent events , I am now not so sure. So , if there are any AN posters who feel passionately about this , and can recap the viewpoints of both sides impartiality, I would be interested to read them in order to see if there are any indisputable facts that everyone can agree on. Thanks in advance.
  3. Well Dan. Firstly...good first post. Very attention grabbing. As for the rest....Facebook?
  4. These are so easy to put up I just do it myself making sure not to use any dud tiles or dark ones. One of the experiences I had while our house was being built concerned the bathroom window. I usually oversaw work myself but one day had to go out for several hours and left the ' foreman ' in charge. When I got back the exterior bathroom wall was finished, without the window. The ' foreman ' was reading a newspaper. ' Everything OK ? ' ' Yes ,everything is OK ' I see. So what's the plan ? Render and paint the wall first then knock out a hole for the window ? ' Only then did he notice what his idiot minion had done before balling him out and getting half the bricks removed down to window level.
  5. Same here. My dentist ( Dr. Hemawan ) at the Paolo Kasetsart hospital is the best dentist I have ever had. My wife also will only use her. Took my mother there for a crown and she was also well satisfied. Does not do deep root canal work though. It is unfortunate the OP had a bad experience, but as he himself admits , he was not thinking. If in doubt about anything here , always get a second or even third opinion before making a decision. To extrapolate , from a single experience with a single Thai dentist , that all Thai dentists are the same and to be avoided is a bit of a stretch.
  6. Yup. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. I tried very hard but it made no difference. Tried lots of other common recommendations but none worked so I temporarily gave up. Then, a little while later , I was washing the car with my favorite shampoo/polish combination and when I had a lot of suds on the sponge I gave the headlights a vigorous washing. Bingo ! Totally unexpected result. Not perfect but better than everything else by a mile so that except for a close examination they look normal again. Apart from this I can really recommend waxy wash and polish as it really works well .
  7. I've seen worse. There might have been a nail or screw on the road that caused the puncture. Even a pothole. Has happened to me a few times over the years.
  8. Still others will easily recognise the dreaded ' Hand of Dan ' at work yet again. I wish someone would hurry up and buy the site so it can get back to normal.
  9. Dans been on the bottle tonight. Arguing with himself by the look of things.
  10. Depends where you start from. Took me 2 days to get home here from the Isle of Wight. Exhausting. But if you are traveling from somewhere really remote like the Darian Gap then it could well take seven days to travel to Thailand. The good new is that once you get here you will appreciate the effort.
  11. Finally can I agree with you. Older members remember a much different world. But to younger members everything happening is as normal and predictable as QR codes. Why would they think any different ? Yes. Up yours sobriety. Might as well continue with dissipation while I can. If I've got it wrong the virtue seekers will save my ass.
  12. Wish you would ban the sick member who left a laughing imoji on the OP. What is wrong with people like this ? They really need a psychiatrist.
  13. I thought he was Dan ????
  14. A reasonable price for the Speed. Can't see the scrambler doing much scrambling though , especially at an extra 22,000 baht.
  15. That ones definately not on my bucket list.
  16. No good places for malcontents. Plenty for everyone else.
  17. Gardening Angle grinders Getting off an airplane after a 12 hour flight in economy Lao khao with schwepps bitter lemon,
  18. Naturally. No matter how long the wall those wishing to cross will try to go around the sides. And if the wall runs from ocean to ocean , they will go over or under it. You will never stop peoples aspirations of a better future for themselves and their children by physical barriers. They have been sold a false dream and it will take a few generations to sink in that the USA of today is not the same USA of 50 years ago. This applies to Europe also. Just too many people trying to get on the gravy train that pulled out quite some time ago.
  19. There have been several recent accounts that this is now the case. The only place that still requires no financial proofs is the consulate at Suvannakhet.
  20. Or not two P's , that is the question.
  21. You mean it doesn't appear on your marriage certificate or she can't read it ?
  22. How about a transparent democratically elected government that would take the issues of corruption and injustice out of the equation so that tourists would feel they were not just cash cows for Thai economics.
  23. Yes, but then sex might raise its ugly head. Slippery slope thereafter. ( pun unintended )
  24. I guess one advantage of having manual windows instead of electric is that they still work under water.
