  1. I guess what i was trying to say was Breeders don't need contracts to sell their stock. To sell beef you need a contract.
  2. So i can go to my local cattle market and i will get 850 baht/kilo for my cow. Regardless of breed and age.
  3. Where does one look for a weekly beef KG price in Thailand. Is there a website.
  4. I found working with Thai's a breath of fresh air. Just remember if you tell them something and they smile and nod their head, they didn't understand you so back out with the picture that is worth a thousand words. I used to find giving the odd donation at work here easier than being hounded on a friday in my home country with a dozen raffles doing the rounds. But it is ok to say no,your choice how you spend your money.
  5. Did most of the hom mali today, about a hour to finish tomorrow. Have decided to put the hom mali straight through the cleaning machine then spread out to dry. Mrs went to town today so gave her a sample of the hom mali to take to the millers to see how accurate the chinese copy of a Kett moisture meter i bought is. Was happy the calibration was within .1% of each other. Not sure why the price is less for this years crop compared to last and the millers aren't paying what the government quoted in a paper a few days a go. A couple of pics, mrs earning her keep spreading out the Cowneo to dry. Moisture meter at the millers and price board.
  6. Did half the Cowneo rice harvest today, the rest is still a couple of weeks away. Think i will continue on with the hom mali tomorrow as a bit of rain forecast later next week. 1668160786060.mp4
  7. Once again it comes back to the engineering or trial and error in the OP's case. I would like a dollar for every household in our closest village that runs off one of those towers and had instant hot water systems installed that don't work. To be followed by a tank stand and tank installed that doesn't work then finally a pressure pump to make it work. We pump from a bore to a tank with a pressure pump, doesn't take long for a bit of sediment to alter the performance of the the instant hot water and it will be the same with gravity. I guess you could take the filter screen out of the hot water system and have bigger holes in the shower head..
  8. I see where your coming from. I have two houses next to each other but rather than mess with the pressure settings on the pump if showering we all know to turn on another tap so the pump runs continuasly rather than cut in and out. A lot more difficult to explain when visitors stay.
  9. I would be looking at the pump specs. If you have instant hot water it won't work well with gravity.
  10. Can i ask why you would want to do that.
  11. I sent a 2nd email this morning through the appointment email i got. Swift reply to few questions i had. 12. Got the harvester out today and took a sample of hom mali rice that was planted on 6th of May. The sample read 48%. with other weeds and chaff in it. One run through the cleaner and it came down to 32%,so not far off getting started.(they say 28% is ok) I have Cowneo planted on the 21st April which i will give a crack tomorrow.
  13. So should i expect a reply tomorrow. Was asking about using excisting passport while waiting for new one.
  14. Might pay to call the embassy as you will need an appointment. I just sent them an email 10 minutes a go with questions and got a no help reply. Will call them tomorrow.
  15. I have a little electric saw Eurox eu740. Works well with my 1 kva generator. I kinda of like the blade that fits on an angle grinder, may try one of them next. From the other thread about oil. Back in July i bought three extra chains. Same brand as the saw and 11.5 inch on the packet and assured to fit by the salesman. Fil just told me yesterday they don't fit,to short.???? The fun will begin on Monday when i head back to the shop in search of the right ones. Went back to the shop yesterday and had no refund or luck. Down the road called into another store and managed to find the right ones. Marketing at its best, the original chain i got had for 11.5 inch bar on the packet. That chain had 43 links.(to short) The new chain which actually had my saw model on the packet has 45 links.(still 11.5 inch bar) The next dilemma in the future now i know what i need is if they don't replace the packets with my saw model number on,i will have to buy chains just to open the packets to see how many links they have as they won't let you open to check. Anyway something to keep in mind if your buying a cheaper chainsaw.
  16. 50K/month is our starting point. By the years end the mrs always runs out so in reality it is more like 60K. .
  17. We recharge our 15 kg cooking gas bottle at a local service station. They will only put 500 baht worth into the bottle.(not full) Not sure whether that is because they should not be filling it(different price for cooking gas v car gas)or it is more convenient for the attendant in busy times. Up country.
  18. One of the national parks at the back of our place gets 70,000 bangkokians a year.

  22. Thai visa used to have Moderators with knowledge in all the sub forums. It's sad to see a lot of newbies posting questions that never go answered.
  23. The oil is the least of my problem. Back in July i bought three extra chains. Same brand as the saw and 11.5 inch on the packet and assured to fit by the salesman. Fil just told me yesterday they don't fit,to short.???? Wondered why he was taking so long as stopping to sharpen original one all the time. The fun will begin on Monday when i head back to the shop in search of the right ones.
