  1. I'm in a different position but I'm looking at the different ways I could return to Thailand and when best to do it. Not an easy task with the fast changing situation. Would the visa exempt 45 day permit route work in the same way if I was going to apply for a Non-O visa based on marriage? I already have the 400k baht needed for that although it has been temporarily moved to my wife's account as she receives interest but it can be moved back to mine as soon as it's needed.
  2. I heard somewhere that many in the Trump family including Donald have been vaccinated. In that case and many others the vaccine debate is largely about politics.
  3. Covid is a different type of virus to the flu that we get every year. It's more closely related to the common cold, MERS and SARS. Obviously the last two are worse than a cold. I'm not sure what you mean by "destroy the economy and usher in global reset". There has been substantial damage to economies around the world although to differing degrees but I don't see any evidence of a destruction of the economy on a global scale. This would suggest that either the plan isn't working and they (whoever that is) have failed or you are incorrect in your assumption and possibly you're blind to the facts.
  4. I doubt we'll get rid of the virus or at least not for a long time and we will see increases in infections even in vaccinated people but just looking at the infection rate isn't giving the whole picture. The UK has done very well with vaccinations but there is still an increase in infections but the number of hospitalisations and deaths hasn't risen at the same rate the last time infections were this high. The most important thing is to keep people out of hospital as much as possible to avoid swamping the health system and stop people dying.
  5. I don't know if this will appeal to real tourists but for those of us who are just returning home and happen to live in tourist areas that are included then it's great. My only question is will Mahasarakham be on that list?
  6. My wife works in the Department of Skill Development which is part of the Ministry of Labour and I sent this to her. I pointed out that it doesn't make sense to survey vacancies when you've already "proactively prepared 814,198 vacancies". I'm not sure I understand how you can do that either.
  7. I always thought the rainy season started not long after Songkran somewhen in may. My wife confirms this although the rain hasn't been that consistent this year apparently and our rice field needs more water. Given that the rainy season starts sometime in May and it's half way through August briefing on projections for August an September seem a bit pointless. As we sit here on the 15th August I wonder how accurate their projections for the first half of August are.
  8. I would have thought if were safe enough to change the rules to enable domestic tourism, which they'd have to do then the same should be possible for international visitors so long as they aren't coming from a country with a high level of Covid and are vaccinated.
  9. To hold it together maybe? ???? Don't know much about guns like that but in the unlikely situating that there's a screw through the grip to hold it together and given my experience of my family then it probably worked loose and fell out. If it were in our house it would be tied together with a piece of cloth rather than look for the screw. Anyway that's a view into my world. Thanks for listening. ????
  10. I think the problem with opening gyms is that older and less healthy people are likely to have worse outcomes such as hospitalisation or death but as far as I know aren't more likely to become infected or transmit Covid. Gyms are likely places to spread Covid unless precautions such as distancing and mask wearing are practised and rules aren't something that are always observed. It might work ok but how do you stop people who don't have the IQ required. I agree that there are many benefits to exercise.
  11. I agree. You need a negative test anyway so it's only the flight that's needed. Stopping flights and buses never made sense since they've just had to replace them. I suppose it allows someone to make an announcement so they look good.
  12. Sounds a bit fishy to me. Maybe they weren't real police who called but it was the right thing to do to check what they said. I wonder how they knew about the debt?
  13. The UK has definitely done very well with the vaccine although a lot of that is probably down to the NHS but overall we've had a lot of deaths at least some of which might not have happened if we'd done better to start with. I think the best way to decide how well the UK or more accurately the UK government has done is their attitude towards an inquiry. If they thought they'd come out of it looking good you can bet they'd be pushing forward with it quickly so they could use it to increase their chances in the next election.
  14. True but it's going to be very difficult to explain why Scotland can't make a decision on being a free sovereign independent nation after all the fuss made by Eurosceptics about the UK doing the same. They've done it before though at the last Independence referendum so I doubt they'll stop now. Many of the Brexit supporting MPs who were members at the time of the referendum on Welsh devolution in 1997 which produced a vote in favour then voted against the legislation when it was brought before parliament. I can't find the voting records for the Scottish devolution legislation but I suspect there would be a similar pattern. There's nothing wrong with that as referendums aren't binding on parliament as it has to remain sovereign and they were free to exercise that right. That's in stark contrast to their views when remain supporting MPs voted against parts of the Brexit negotiations.
  15. I think you'll find that most of the shackles on the UK are down to the USA particularly in terms of defence and we don't get a vote in their elections unlike the EU parliament. The EU doesn't decide on defence issues for member states so they have nothing to do with HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales which were planned, ordered and built during our membership of the EU. In fact I think they were planned and ordered under the last Labour government. I could be wrong but I'm sure our Foreign Secretary is sat next to our flag which is upside down. I wonder if he noticed.
  16. I think the AstraZeneca vaccine is being supplied on a non profit basis at the moment at least so that wouldn't work in that situation. Possibly later when that agreement runs out.
  17. I've no idea but I suppose they might be considered essential and at least you're outside and for the most part moving so the virus should get blown away. O course the other possibility is they're ignoring the rules which is quite common.
  18. Yes I've seen later posts mentioning that but I was referring the original article. Even so it still doesn't mean it's finished yet.
  19. My wife is a government worker so she was able to get information from the local government office fairly easily and it appears that we wouldn't have to quarantine on returning to Mahasarakham at the moment. I think she's trying to check this as it doesn't seem to make much sense. As far as she could tell Roi Et is different as it's a higher risk area so quarantine is needed. Again this doesn't make much sense but that's often the case. I still think if there's 2 of you then quarantining together should be OK. As StateSix says some people are isolating in huts on their land. The Roi Et health department would be the best place to check, either by phone or website if they have one. Best of luck
  20. If the community did work with them then that's a good thing and probably one of the best ways to solve a crime. I'm not sure why you think that doesn't happen in the west.
