Two things: X, Facebook, or other social media posts are not proper citations. Cite a real source. Stop reporting each other for trivial things. Moderators are not here to fight your battles. Thank you.

Getting real tired of people simply reporting minor issues about people they are disagreeing with. While we appreciate reports of serious violations, moderators are not here to fight your battles for you.

The topic is the Maldives banning Israeli passport holders. Not existential arguments about the history of the Arab-Israeli conflicts. We've had enough lobbying, hyperbole, name calling, etc, and are ready to do what we have to in order to settle things down. Nobody is going to change anyone's mind, and none of you are saying anything groundbreaking, so stop taking it so seriously. Posting in all caps or large fonts doesn't help you, it just makes you look desperate. We'll also bin the posts containing them. We understand it's a contentious, emotional issue, but we have an obligation to keep the forum informative to readers, and circular arguments and insults do nothing to facilitate that. Many of you are trying to give reasoned and thoughtful input, and we do appreciate this. We'll try to keep you from getting drowned out. Thank you, please have a reasonable discussion, that's on topic.

Removed some bickering posts, including one that did misquote another poster and one where someone told another that they were reporting them, both of which we frown on. Please do not misquote others, it's a cowardly debating tactic. If you report someone, stop arguing with them and move on. Moderators are not here to help you fight your battles. Thank you.

Removed some personal attacks and comments on moderation. Both are against our code of conduct.

Removed a few trollish posts, some in very poor taste. Please keep in mind: None of you are likely to change the other's minds. Nothing said here ultimately matters, despite what some would like to believe. We will take action against the worst offenders.

Please keep the conversation focused on visa matters. Other subjects can be discussed elsewhere in the forum, but we like to keep the subject matter very focused here. Thank you.
