When Poland joined the EU in 2004 the UK was one of the few EU members that opened its labor market to the new member states immediately. That accounted for a large number of Poles arriving in the UK. There are a few Polish families near where I live and they have integrated well all appear to be polite hard working and an asset to the UK.

No we don't actually need them but if the alternative is someone like Trump I would say they're crucial.

This time round they have zero support from the general public. Sack the lot of them.

Russia invaded Ukraine thinking it would all be over in a matter of days or weeks. I feel that it is for the Ukrainian people to decide and only them, they should be supported in whatever decision they take not forced to capitulate by withdrawing support or Trump and Putin stitching Ukraine up between them. Ukraine's biggest problem is it's limited manpower and a reliable supply of intelligence weapons and ammunition compared to Russia, but they haven't lost yet. Russia has nowhere near the military resource of the US yet even the US with its massive resources and firepower could not succeed in Vietnam or Afganistan neither did Hitler succeed in invading Britain. Numbers aren't everything though I agree at the moment Russia does appear to have the upper hand but that could change. If reports are to be believed Russia has lost over a million of its young men and its economy must have taken a massive hit, its not inconcevable that pressure from within Russia or even a regime change could happen. The sooner the war is brought to an end the better but it must be one that Ukraine can accept and not forced into.

22 years Ex British Army here I have worked with the US Army and can assure you American soldiers are not just a bunch of useless losers. As in any army you will find some are average some good and some very good, personally I always got on well with them, at times we may have taken the piss out of each other but there was always a sense of mutual respect. I respect anyone who voluntarily puts on his countries uniform and stands up to be counted. Unless you have served you dont have the right to criticise let alone call them "just a bunch of useless losers". If you had served I very much doubt you would have made such a disparaging remark.

Not just the UK but the west as a whole seems to be veering away from America/Trump and towards China. Sad times.

I live in the south west of England on the coast. One of my hobbies is sea fishing and I belong to a club that has a Ukranian family in it (mother and her son and daughter) they came shortly after the war started the father is still in Ukraine though apparently not on the front line. I believe he is somehow involved in manufacturing for the army. I deliberately do not talk about the war when speaking to the children though I will be very interested to hear what their mother has to say about Trumps peace plan. I know her brother was killed in the war and she was worried that Russia would steal her children if she had stayed.
