  1. Most likely other countries will take a sensible approach and counter with targeted tariffs that will maximise the damaging effect on the US while minimising the effects on their own citizens and economy. Everything that the US imports is now a minimum of 10% more expensive some are nearly 100%.
  2. When Americans realise the affect these tariffs are going to have on their pockets they just might drag him out of the White House and Lynch him. A 50% tariff on a country doesn't mean that country pays 50% it means the American consumer pays the 50% and the 50% ends up in Trumps pocket Treasury.
  3. The best way to predict the future is to study the past. Trump is repeating the policies of the 1930's not a particularly good idea. I've just looked according to Trump the UK imposes 20% tariffs on goods from America that is a lie. What he is refering to is the 20% VAT that is in effect a sales tax that is imposed on just about everything sold in the Uk no matter where it originates from even domestically produced. The EU has VAT as well Trump is obviously not being truthful with the figures or he's too thick to understand which I doubt, more like he's playing to the MAGA faithful and those either too stupid to understand or just accept everything he says as gospel When other countries retaliate and impose their own tariffs things are going to get very expensive in America of course that also means a lot more money going to the treasury collected from ordinary Americans that are paying the higher tariff prices. The result of all that will enable Trump to give massive tax breaks to the millionaires and billionaires that bankrolled him.
  4. Trump has effectively just declared economic war on the world. I would hate to be an American right now.
  5. I still have the memories though even those are fading nowadays I would struggle to even climb the stairs.
  6. European defence stocks are way up one example Rheinmetall up 119%. Then there’s Rolls-Royce Holdings (UK) Thales Group (France) Leonardo (Italy) Saab (Sweden) BAE Systems (UK) all up - the main question to ask is have they peaked.
  7. Or a snake they eat rats bugs and lizards too and they're more lovable they like nothing more than sneaking into bed with you at night.
  8. If all else fails you could always go out and shout "DONT YOU KNOW I'M AN AMERICAN" That usually has the desired affect.
  9. I suspect the UK will rejoin the EU maybe not in my lifetime but as time goes on it will become more and more advantageous and then they will be forced to adopt the Euro. So far Brexit seems to have mainly had negative consequences with very few if any positives. A lot of people were conned by Farage and Johnson bears a striking resemblance to Trump.
  10. It was Trump who got rid of the agreement with Iran in the first place now he's giving them 2 months to agree to a new one the fact is Trump is a dangerous idiot. How about instead of threatening Iran giving the something in return like removing sanctions and getting rid of the nuclear weapons held by Israel.
  11. It doesn't matter how big a military a country has or how safe that makes them feel. A nuclear bomb doesn't need a missile or plane to deliver it it could fit in the trunk of a car or be hidden in a container of anything you care to mention or for that matter a small tactical nuclear warhead big enough to take out the white House and half of Washington at the same time could even fit in a backpack. Then the winds would spread the radiation fallout further afield. Just imagine if some terrorist group planted nuclear devices in half a dozen US cities and detonated them all at the same time.
  12. Trumps Gold Card will enable Putin to plant hundreds of KGB in the USA.
  13. Great bring back the serving wenches in their skimpy Chang & Leo dresses.
  14. I don't see anything wrong with him offering her a bed as long as long he wasn't in it as well. If he was good luck to him and I hope he rose to the occasion.
  15. How long before US citizens start seeking asylum.
  16. Turkey just signed a contract for 40 Eurofighter Typhoons and Meteor air -to-air missiles no longer interested in F35's. Trump is losing America not only friends and allies but customers as well. Trump may well think that America can do withoutcustomers outside America but the companies and workers that produce the goods sure as hell do.
  17. Nothing to do with keeeping the war going it's about buying defence equipment from countries you can rely on.
  18. Portugal wont be the only country deciding not to buy or canceling orders. The UK for instance has ordered 138 they have received 48 so far. They have offered to send Typhoon fighters to Ukraine to police Ukrainian sky's as part of a peace deal they can't sent send F35's as they would have to get permission from Trump in the past that wouldn't have been a problem as we were all on the same side. Will they continue to buy the remaining F35's or look to Europe for an alternative I don't know but it is a possibility. It's no good having fighters if you are limited as to where and how you want to use them. Their biggest problem would be the aircraft carriers were built for VTOL aircraft so possibly they could just get the number required for the carriers and cancel the rest who knows. At the moment Europe is developing two separate programs for 6th-generation fighter jets: the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) by the UK, Italy, and Japan, and the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) by France, Germany, and Spain. It wouldn't surprise me if those programs weren't accelerated as a matter of urgency. Then there the other countries that have F35's on order in Europe alone there are Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Belgum, Finland, Greece, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Turkey then there's Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Israel. One concern would be the potential for America to turn them off. Under Trump America if fast becoming an unreliable partner. That is just the F35 how about all the rest of American military equipment that will be losing sales Europe is already ramping up its defence industries. There is no doubt about it under Trump the American Defence industries will be hit hard from overseas sales and Trump has stated "the US could massively cut defense spending" so where will that leave them.
  19. All these tariffs are doing is attracting counter tariffs that attract more counter tariffs that result in more and more and more in a never ending cycle. Why not just say Im not trading with you any more you are all treating us really badly so all imports and exports are banned. America only has 4.22% of the worlds population which leaves the other 95.78% to trade among themselves peacefully.
  20. A ceasefire would basically freeze the front lines where they are. Could be that Putin won't agree to a ceasefire while Ukraine still holds Russian territory in the Kursk region.
  21. Putin won't stop with Ukraine he's already said he want all of Europe if that ever happens USA would be next.
