  1. Since the last Covid infection, my wife has been suffering from chronic frontal sinusitis, which unfortunately gets worse by using the air conditioner all the time. Therefore also in the current horror heat, we only use fans during the day and the air conditioner in the bedroom at night.

This now results in our house being between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius during the day ... which makes a new problem for me:
As a back pain patient, I am dependent at irregular intervals on taking certain medicines that are not available everywhere on an uncomplicated way (Tramadol, Amitriptyline, etc.).
I always have a supply of these in my cupboard and am now worried about storage, as the medication should NOT be stored at more than 23 degrees Celsius.

Might I be better off storing the medication in the vegetable compartment of the fridge or are there any other options? I am grateful for any serious suggestions. ????

  2. I guess it was about 10 to 12 months ago when I first read the good news that the Immigration Bureau introduced the long-awaited possibility of an "Electronics Extension of Temporary Stay" via Internet for various visa types in Thailand.

If I remember correctly, it was started as a pilot project for Bangkok at that time.

I would be interested to know what happened to this project and in this context I have two questions:
    1) Are there any field reports here on the forum about the use of the "Electronics Extension of Temporary Stay" under the pilot project yet?
    2) Are there any announcements yet when the pilot project will be completed and also available in Pattaya and other regions?

  3. @CharlieH: Would have been my second option if I hadn't received a recommendation here. But thanks to the helpful answer from "The Hammer2021" I can save myself the annoying question/answer game at the call center (...including possible misunderstandings).
It's nice to know a friendly community that is happy to help and share their experiences.

    1. Fire up the computer.

    2. Open an Internet browser.

    3. Enter the following search words: "DHL Pattaya".

    Thanks for the <deleted> answer.

If it were that easy, I wouldn't have bothered to post it here. The fact is that DHL Service Points that no longer exist are also displayed without being marked as such. You would have to call or drive to practically every address ... hence my impudent question as to whether anyone happens to know of a service point in East or Central Pattaya that is not closed.

  5. I think I made my decision:

Living Will Template from Bangkok Hospital and afterwards let certified by the German honorary consul in Pattaya.

By the way: does anyone have an idea what the "HN", EN/AN" and "PD/Ward" abbreviations in the form header might mean? ????

  6. Is anyone surprised if I say that after reading the posts on my topic "Living Will (...without witnesses?)" I'm more confused than before?

I'm happy about the lively participation on the subject, but unfortunately I can't say that it helped to solve the questions ... on the contrary: the numerous different claims about the legal basis for the procedure of creating a "Living Wills" don't make it easier for me than I had hoped.

Just like you need to have a Thai lawyer draw up your Thai will you should get your Thai lawyer to draw up your living will.  This way the living will will be valid in any Thai hospital and can be applied as soon as you enter the hospital.

If you plan on putting your wife in charge of your medical care should you be unable to do this yourself then, according to my Thai lawyers, she will need to sign the living will.  You will also need to have at least one other party sign as a witness that you signed the document.  Often this is a member of the lawyer's staff.

Be sure to leave copies of the regular will and living will with your wife and any close friends.

If you don't have any friends other than your wife then make some.  Surely there are some farangs living within a reasonable distance who will enjoy getting together for food, drink, and conversation.

Very helpful post ... thanks Harry ????

I think there is a misunderstanding here: I am not talking about a "Last Will/Testament" but about a "Ling Will Declaration".

  9. I would like to draw up a living will for myself, but after several days of research I am a bit at a loss, because all the offers or options that I could find for Thailand contain the signatures of one (better two) witnesses.

Since I have no family or friends other than my Thai wife, it is almost impossible for me to find two trustworthy witnesses. I don't want to fall back on neighbors or my wife's family members for this very personal topic.

    Hence my question:
Is it possible to create a living will by hand instead of using one of the available download templates and then have the finished letter notarized by the German honorary consul in Pattaya instead of the signatures of two witnesses?

I'm grateful for every (serious) answer.

Ultracet contains  37.5 mg of tramadol plus 325 mg  paracetamol.

2 tablets of Ultracet should be as good or better than 50 mg plain Tramadol.

True, but I don't normally use Paracetamol, and I don't want to have to take it as a "bonus" when I'm take another pain reliever.
