From what we heard if you fly emirates they even cover the situation if someone on the plane has Covid-19.

I have also heard so... It should do as it covers from you embark on your journey which could maybe be after you have locked your main door.

Exactly this... For anyone who would normally be returning to Bangkok 14 days on an island is a far far better option than 14 days stuck in a hotel room.

The tourism aspect depends primarily on the quarantine requirement in the home countries of any potential tourist. I really can’t see many tourists until ‘travel corridors’ have been agreed between various countries and Phuket.

Additionally, one month from now, if the Delta variant has gained a foothold in Phuket I would guess that the Sandbox model is quickly abandoned.

However, if success is observed I wonder if the time limitation is reduced to 7 day in a month or so.

Much of this depends on how whether or not the Delta variant can evade the existing vaccines.

Thats is why its better to get in now than maybe not getting in next month. Out is never a problem.

i hope to be on that flight from Dubai next Friday as I endeavour to return to Thailand. I received the green light on 24th June to start the COE application which I have done. Nevertheless, I cannot complete it as the SHA+ hotels have yet to get their system (SHABA) up and running from the government. It means I can book the hotel but they cannot send me confirmation until that system is activated. I spoke to the manager at a popular hotel in Phuket this morning and was advised that the system would probably get operational only after the announcement appeared in the Royal Gazette. They thought that would be Monday 28th. I will then be tight on time and I guess this applies to all other "non executive" travellers. Please correct me if you know different!

It is already operational. The shaba reporting that is.

  4. Just guessing here, but as I understand.. Visa rules and sandbox has nothing to do with each other. Embassies are happy to give you a visa whatever visa that may be..If you are able to use it due to coe s and other rules is your gambling. This means that all is and always have been normal concerning that. If you can go to KL or to Myanmar or to singapore.. They dont care about that as long as you follow procedure that changes every 2 hours.

However, instead of the previous requirement that arrivals must have tested negative for the virus within 72 hours of arriving, officials will require that the test has been conducted within seven days of arriving.

This all seems wrong I think 7 days is too long.

And it mentions the documents will be checked at the departure airport.  Should be interesting at places like Suvarnabumi how this will work or cause delays.

only direct flights.. No stops in bkk.. Transit not allowed.. exept for thai airways.

I wonder what they are going to do with the ones who are vaccinated, enter Covid negative, but later found to be Covid positive as has happened in UK, Aust and Canada when in quarantine. It deemed less likely to be severe infection, but possibly still able to transmit.

If so its a hospital checkup.. Then if well enough you are released in a forced quarantine (probably to their liking and you have to pay) for 14-15-16 nights like now.

@ 150 TO 200K Per 7 day tourist package you won't need any of the above .. Just stupidly deep pockets

There is no need for a package. If I understand you correct you refer tot TAT numbers.. Some will spend that for dinner only.., but most people are happy enough on a 1000 baht a day budget plus accommodation which can be a private rent or whatever.. It does not have to be a hotel to put it that way.. You dont have to buy anything for them to let you in is probably a better way of saying it.

I get your point but when it was winter people where really hoping restrictions where lifted here so they could come over to spend the winter here but since summer is starting and the weather starts to get better they don't mind to stay home or closer to home .

Of course.. I agree with you , but on a whole people on a tight budget will do that, but the rest of europe that hasnt had any possibility to neither travel nor use any of their money for a year are happy to be on the move again. To put it in perspective in my opionion which might be wrong... If 70% do like you say.. There are stil 30% who would like to travel.. Lets say 5% of them do that.. That is still 5% more than nothing.(numbers taken out of thin air..  ;))

You're lucky!  It's 500 where I am. Has been for years. but they will give you two if you ask. E.g. For buying new and selling old motorbike.

Still. It's done while you wait, and beats the queues.

https://www.tielandtothailand.com/certificate-residency/#:~:text=This document is FREE and, within Thailand for a fee.

This document is FREE and takes two to three weeks to process. Office hours are 8 am to 10 am for applications and 1 pm to 4:30 pm for certificate pickup, excluding weekends and Thai holidays. The alternative is to apply for a residence certificate at your home country’s embassy or consulate within Thailand for a fee.

In many parts of europe they are lifting restrictions and the nr's are going the right way with less IC beds filled and less hospitalizations so things are looking better there then here . Why would people come ? So it's not that Easy. If it would be 20 below celcius around there maybe , but summer is starting in most parts as well so .

People would go to antartica if they had the chance.. the whole point is.. Most people are fed up with travel restrictions.. Its about time to move around.. This is why.

Still no embassy listing Phuket as an option. Currently its a no go

There are many things to consider.. It is not only the asq that will be waived. It could also possibly be no requirement for a pre covid test. Also the fit to fly paper should be of no meaning...

Covid insurance for most people is included in the normal travel insurance yearly people have from their home country, but not before its own country lift travel restrictions on that country.

Is a digital doctors print out that you had a vaccine enough or do they require a verifiable vaccine passport that does not exist? There are still tons of question, but I suspect they will be answered by 1. June IF they are still sandboxing Phuket which its seems they will.

Want to bet that you have to be vaccinated fully, have proof in form of certificate, translate certificate into Thai, buy covid insurance, have test 72 hours before and test 5 days after entering Thailand all at your expense

Its going to be .. Certificate of vaccination, COE... And to get that one you need. Valid visa for entry. Place to stay which you decide, Covid insurance for sure, Travel insurance for other ilnesses.. meaning a valid insurance that covers covid which they all will do when thailand is off the red list. A test 72 hours before is possible not maybe not necessary.

More imortantly.. Can you transit in bangkok.. Probably not.. So meaning in the sandboxprogram.. You better have a direct flight to Phuket, Chiang Mai or Krabi or one of the others in the program.

  13. Yepp.. It is like that..

The rule right now if it is followed which i doubt is that overnight trips from phang nga(which you have to pass anyway) is met with quarantine in phuket. However.. Daystrip is not...

I have no idea how they will know the difference...
