  1. The UKVI recently made a change for the uploading of documents, maybe this is causing the problem. Who can use the self-upload service If you use the ‘UK Immigration: ID Check’ app to scan your identity document, you’ll use the self-upload service when you apply. You cannot use this service if you have your fingerprints and photograph taken at a visa application centre (VAC) or UK Visa and Citizenship Services (UKVCAS) service point. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/uploading-evidence-as-part-of-your-visa-application?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notifications-topic&utm_source=dc3daa85-2300-4749-b2ad-66fb9ece3efa&utm_content=daily
  2. He doesn't need to supply flight and insurance evidence, the UKVI specifically advise against purchasing purchasing non refundable flights until a visa has been issued, and I don't think there's any point purchasing insurance until the visa is issued, either way the UKVI don't want to see evidence of those. He, or his mother, should concentrate on evidence of his life in Thailand, the school certainly helps. What I'm not sure about is there maybe something formal his mother needs to provide, others may be able to advise.
  3. We use Line or Whatsapp for free calls, but of course both sides need to be able to use it. I use Mytello for other calls, very cheap for most countries and I've found it to be reliable https://www.mytello.com/en_TH/?gclid=CjwKCAiAo4OQBhBBEiwA5KWu_3Goan1aqTEmFaYQOA6UTnztNfA13kygVEdj2mqNX677OrXr4BsgoBoCchQQAvD_BwE
  4. They might want to consider refunding some of the thousands of passengers who have been waiting for cash they forked out some years ago for flights on Thai, only to have them cancelled, with no sign of their cash back.
  5. The rule actually include the requirement to stop for pedestrians waiting at a crossing, they don't even have to put one foot on the crossing. The Highway code states that at a junction drivers and riders should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning. Tourists from countries with these laws are lulled into a false sense of security when they visit here.
  6. I'll move your post to the appropriate forum, UJ is more likely to see it there and confirm the advice you've already been given.
  7. SC Pharmacy in Bangkok, near Siam MRT. I stock up when I'm in Bangkok.
  8. I sent a letter recorded delivery to my bank in the Isle of Man last month, it cost me 125 Baht. I posted it in Hua Hin on the 19th Jan, it was handed over to the air carrier on the 22nd and arrived in London 1st Feb, it was delivered in the IoM on 3rd.
  9. Which is exactly what my wife and I did before we were married. We provided details of our subsisting relationship, proving that we were in a relationship akin to marriage, and along with details of my income, our home in Bangkok and her income from a part time job in the family business she successfully applied for a number of UK and Schengen Visas. It could be argued that a Thai wife living with their British spouse/partner here in Thailand has a better chance of Entry Clearance for a Visit Visa than a spouse of a British National who lives in the UK, as the ECO could believe, rightly or wrongly, that they intend to remain in the UK with their benefactor.
  10. The UKVI advise that non flexible tickets shouldn’t be purchased before a visa is issued, and, unlike Schengen, do not ask for sight of tickets with an application.
  11. The main thing she has to do is satisfy the ECO, the Decision Maker, that her proposed visit is genuine, affordable and that she is likely to return to her home in Thailand at the conclusion of her trip. You say that she has sufficient funds in the bank, maybe she could detail where those funds came from, condo rentals maybe, and are they sufficient to live on and fund her trip. It might be an idea to detail how house and condos were funded. You also say that you live together here, then provide evidence of that and provide evidence of your status here, I'm assuming you're travelling together. As @brewsterbudgenhas indicated she needs to declare, and explain, the Australian refusal. You are correct in saying that it's her application and it's she that needs to satisfy the decision maker of the above, but I agree that it should be fairly straightforward.

  13. @007 REDI think the flights shown could well be cargo flights, maybe they use the BA10 flight number to retain their slots. I've certainly seen an aircraft at Suvarnabhumi with the BA livery fairly recently. Flight cancelled We’re very sorry, this flight has been cancelled. Your re-booking and refund options are shown in Manage My Booking. You can go to Help in disruption for telephone numbers and useful information about cancellations and baggage problems. Bangkok Heathrow Airline: British Airways Terminal: -- Local time: 10:10 Tue 1 Feb Scheduled departure: 23:30 Mon 31 Jan Cancelled Airline: British Airways Terminal: 5 Local time: 03:10 Tue 1 Feb Scheduled arrival: 05:30 Tue 1 Feb Cancelled
  14. Maybe, just maybe, there have been quite a few and they're now living in the US and don't bother reading, or contributing to this forum as often, or anymore. Just a guess, I really don't know, have you had a look at Visa Journey, more generic than this forum though? https://www.visajourney.com/?_fromLogin=1 EDIT - I see that a previous poster has already mentioned Visa Journey, did you look at it?
  15. The DWP have a contract with Citibank in the US to pay State Pensions to all recipients living overseas. Citibank use their own conversion rate, and charge no fees to recipients. If there is a public holiday in the US during the week the pension is due to be paid, there might be a delay in payment.
  16. I purchased the Mibeazc by Siam Pharma last year and it was fairly cheap. It was out of stock when I tried to purchase in December, so got Ezetimbe Sandoz at 700 Baht for a pack of 30.
  17. You've posted this question twice, on two different forums, I'll close this one.
  18. I used my six digit PIN in the UK, in an ATM and Sainsbury's, and it worked just fine.
  19. Your children are British Nationals and as such don't require a visa or a TB Test, as they can travel to, and live in the UK at will. As a matter of interest, for children who do require a visa the TB test would cost THB 3,800 per person. You will pay the clinic directly for the cost of your TB test. The cost of the test is in addition to the visa application fee. The test fee does not cover treatment if you have tuberculosis. Children under 11 who do not require screening will have to pay THB 500 per person as an interview fee. Those children who the clinician decides will need screening will be charged the same fees as adults although they will not be charged the additional THB 500 interview fee - if the clinician decides that the children will need screening they only charge THB 3,800.
  20. I personally think your covering letter is too long and contains "information" that will not assist the ECO in reaching their decision. The fact that you brought your wife a necklace and smart watches adds nothing to the application, neither does much of the other information, including the fact that you miss each other. There's no need, in my humble opinion, to detail her travel history, or the fact she's provided copies of her previous passports, they will see them in her supporting doccuments, she's applying to settle in the UK so providing evidence of her previous return trips is of little value as she doesn't need to prove she'll return to Thailand. You seem to meet the criteria, including financial and accomodation and that you've actually met, adding too much extra detail may well cloud the issue, she will of course need to supply evidence of her English and TB tests. Tony M may well have a different view of your note, I would value his opinion over mine.
  21. I've certainly used a Kasikorn Debit card in Europe for ATM withdrawals and in stores, without any problems. I hadn't notified the bank of my travels, for no other reason than I forgot to do so.
  22. Entry Clearance isn't a Consular issue, also as this question has also been asked in the Visas to other countries forum, I'll close this thread.
  23. Thanks for your input, the OP has already confirmed that his Sister in Law is fully vaccinated, has the day two test booked and has already completed the Passenger Location Form. He confirmed all this in his opening post.
