No nothing has changed, though the advice given by the Border Force Officer wasn't strictly accurate. When your girlfriend presents herself at the UK Border, she will still need to satisfy the Border Force Officer that she's still a genuine visitor who, on the balance of probabilities will leave the UK at the conclusion of her visit. When she was approved for longer term Entry Clearance she would have satisfied the Entry Clearance Officer that she had a need to visit the UK over a longer period of time, she will still need to satisfy the officer of the above on each and every visit, though a refusal of entry would be unlikely unless there was a change of circumstances or the original application was fraudulent. Whilst she would normally be allowed to remain in the UK for up to 180 days, there is no such rule that says that a person can only remain in the UK for 180 days in a 12 month period.

Buying covid19 insurance while living in Thailand
theoldgit replied to watgate's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
They don't seem to be offfering new policies or renewing those on expiry. -
I had no problem getting a refund from Turkish, I called their call centre in Istanbul and they offered a refund, and waited on the phone whilst the email confirmation came through, they did advise that it would take three months, and it was to the day.

Thailand Pass Test & Go
theoldgit replied to Seba1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As this has nothing to do with visas or Immigration from Thailand, I'll move to the Thailand Forum. -

90-day online report success first time
theoldgit replied to Presnock's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I on the other hand had 100% success with the previous system, with an instant approval of every report since day one, maybe I was just lucky. I recently reported using the new system, and whilst the receipt of report was acknowledged instantly, it took four days for the approval of my report to come through, I can live with that though. -

You said "approved the stay until April", which they haven't. Your 90 reporting and leave to remain are totally different, you have to do both. -
Extending stay on UK Visit Visa
theoldgit replied to ray richards's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
The conditions for which she could apply to extend her stay are extremely limited, https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor/extend-your-stay Those considering an application would take into account the reasons given for the trip in her original application, including her proposed length of stay, and her continuing ties to her home country. I’ve taken the liberty of altering the title of your question, to give forum members a clue as to what you’re asking. -

Looks like your post refers to Thai Immigration rather than to visas overseas, so let's try it in the Thai Immigration Forum. For clarification, Thai Immigration didn't approve your stay until April, that's when you next have to report, extending your stay here is a totally different process. -
Whilst the OP may well have time to obtain a new passport, as has been correctly pointed out there is no requirement for a British Citizen to have six months remaining on their passport to enter the UK. The current advice from the HMPO is that an applicant should allow ten weeks for a new passport to be issued, the UK Embassy are not involved in the processing and issuing of passports. Whilst I agree that travellers should always be aware of the passport requirements for the destination country, I certainly wouldn't claim that it's a "rule of thumb" that you shouldn't travel on a passport with a limited validity. I do have one caveat, the OP isn't clear how long the child will be staying in the UK, if returning to Thailand then a new passport can be applied for in the UK, providing they have time, an online application is considerably cheaper than applying from here in Thailand, if they are remaining in the UK they can apply there at their leisure.

Hua Hin restaurants set to stop serving alcohol by 9pm
theoldgit replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
Bars are officially closed and according to media reports restaurants aren’t allowed to serve alcohol at all from tomorrow. I do agree with your view regarding some of those who maybe had a little too much to drink being a tad too boisterous. -

It says it’s a readjustment of the control measures, so I imagine the latter report may be accurate. -
The visit and settlement visas are both very different and both require a different level of evidence, by the way the required income level is £18,600. Just because your wife was refused a visit visa it doesn't mean she would automatically be refused a visit visa. I will send you the details of a very reliable guy by PM.

Frightened of losing her new outfit I think, though to be fair she's never had a problem with anything she's ordered.

@billd766I've made a number of international transfers via the K+ App, all have gone through without a hitch and without the need to visit the bank or supply any paperwork. My last transfer via the App was for 116,000 Baht sent to Singapore, the exchange rate on the day was good and the fee was 250 Baht, the cash arrived the same day. I wonder if they've changed their procedures?

Not always, I ordered some items recently, paid for the items when I ordered, after a couple of days of being listed as "packed", the order was listed as cancelled and the cost was automatically refunded to my debit card a couple of days later. My wife always orders COD, I think she has her personal driver, we're often out when the package arrives, that's why I don't use COD, she receives a call and pays the operative by bank transfer.

Wise Money Transfer Newbie here.

A number of banks offer this facility, it's also on my Bangkok Bank App, though I've never used it. The fact that you may not wish to open any more accounts maybe relevant to you, but the OP has an account with Kasikorn, and my responses were relevant to him.
