  1. How long is she intending to be away for? She can exit Thailand using her Thai passport, but she would need to show the check-in staff her UK passport, for two reasons, she would normally need a UK Visa in her Thai passport, and currently only British, or Irish nationals are allowed to enter the UK due to Red Light Covid Restrictions. She will need to book and pay for a hotel quarantine before travel for her arrival in the UK, along with Covid tests before travel and following her arrival. On her return to Thailand she can enter on her Thai passport, even if it's expired. She will of course need to obtain the CoE to return to Thailand, and quarantine on arrival.
  2. It could be done if you set your mind to and you really need to get back to start your degree course, and for the record I'm not coming down on anybody, unlike yourself, I'm saying there are options, if you look hard enough.
  3. "Traveller says she will stay on in holiday hotspot because quarantine will ‘bankrupt’ her and sorting flight before Monday deadline is ‘almost impossible’ KLM flight leaving tonight at 23.15, has availability and will get you back in time, just got to get yourselves to BKK and pay 30,000 Baht each.
  4. Only if they have Resident Rights at the moment, so spouses and partners living in Thailand intending to visit wouldn’t be allowed to enter, I’m not sure those traveling to settle would be allowed, but I suspect not.
  5. Air Asia are scheduled to restart that route from the begining of October, whether to do or not is anyones guess.
  6. It's never happend for any other country, there were reports of people returning to the UK as soon as they set foot in Mexico following the last tranche of changes. Whilst I have every sympathy for those caught out by these changes, it's not as if we didn't see it coming. The UK Government received a lot of criticism when they delayed enforcing the restrictions on travellers from other countries, travellers from India was a good example.
  7. It seems like you would only be allowed to stay in Qatar if you are vaccinated with an approved vaccine. Are you both British Nationals, or have UK residence rights?
  8. It's worth noting that only British and Irish Nationals and those with residence rights will be allowed into the UK and, as already been stated, will be required to enter managed hotel quarantine at a cost of £2,285 plus £1,430 for each additional eligible adult or child over 11.
  9. We are considering that one, is this the same one? https://higatwickairporthotel.co.uk/offers/self-isolation-hotel-package/
  10. For the last year or so the UKVI have been dating the visa from the intended date of travel in the application though the maximum three months in advance rule still applies, it initially caught a few people out, I don't know if it's still policy.
  11. Nobody's mocking you, or anybody else, so your insults are unwarranted. Many people, like myself of a certain age and with serious health conditions, appreciate the need to travel distances to get vaccinated, and are prepared to do so, be it 200, 400 or even like the guy we were talking to today from Udon Thani, in excess of 800 Kms, and all credit to him, and I suspect many would do the same.
  12. Amazing! There were a number of Brits at the Vaccination Centre where my wife got her vaccine today, some of whom came from our neck of the woods, “out there in the provinces”.
  13. Have you tried the BCCT, my wife and I are currently in Bangkok for my wifes appointment for a AZ vaccination this afternoon, sourced via them.
  14. A lawyer friend of mine says a copy of that book should be handed to every single male traveller arriving in Thailand.
  15. Was it this one? https://aseannow.com/topic/1213602-irish-passport/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-16506851
  16. Is this what you meant, Villa Hua Hin, B215 now though.
  17. The Immigration Office in the basement of BluPort is closed until at least the end of August, and in any case doesn't extend stays. Kasikorn Bank in the basement is open from Monday to Friday, though maybe not until at least 10.00, maybe even 11.00.
  18. I really miss my Shepherd Neame beer from Kent, especially Bishops Finger available in Sainsbury at £1.20 but I've never seen here, used to see Spitfire in Villa and Gourmet but have seen for some years. I occasionally treat myself to a bottle or two of London Pride at £4.75, as opposed to £5.50 for a four pack back in the UK. I've had Old Speckled Hen on draft in the British Club and in a bar in Udon Thani, quite partial to that, but only occasionally available in cans here in Hua Hin.

  20. No, as the OP says it's in Bangkok, on South Sathorn Road near the building that houses the new British Embassy.
