Thai tax and SuperRich

Great for you , but if you live in nakhon nowhere , there are no exchanges, or bad ones . A walk to them for me is driving to farther provinces like CM. -
Thai tax and SuperRich
FlorC replied to FlorC's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
For one , you have to trust them , not for a few baht but for a big amount. Two : if they exchange for you , it will go on their record and seen as their income and will rocket them past the 150k. You get taxed for bringing money into thailand , so theoreticly , if you bring cash with you in the country , you have to report it , even if not exchanged and leave in you foreign currency. -
Thai tax and SuperRich
FlorC replied to FlorC's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
The 2 questions are pretty simple. Assessable Income available prior to Jan 1, 2024 It is all about proving it. To other posters : Why would Superrich or other private exchanges share all cash exchanges with BoT ? -
Has anyone asked green and orange Superrich if they are sharing information of currency exchanges with foreigners with the Thai tax office ? Or has Thai tax office ordered them to see exchanges in 2024 ? I can't reach them by email and have no phone. Follow up question : Which are the best currency exchanges in Chiang Mai/Lampang ? (no banks !) Thanks

Expats How Do You Deal With The Toxic Air Pollution in Thailand?
FlorC replied to Mitkof Island's topic in General Topics
Every year it is hard to deal with the air polution here up north. You can't enjoy the cooler temps , you can't keep windows open and an insulated house does not cool down much. I try to manage with 2 hatari's , but the 5 year old one gets louder and louder. You can't grease the motor. The newer one has a PM meter which is as accurate as my hand held PM meter from lazada. Not happy with the 2 hatari's , so last month I bought the sharp J30 , is was in promo at local makro. It has plasmacluster technology, so I wanted to try it. But the sharp was even worse than hatari , even at the lowest speed it had an irritating sound. Luckily I could return it to makro. If those 2 are so bad , what are the cheap ones on lazada going to be ? Luckily I can lock myself up during those 4 to 5 months with the purifiers and wear a mask outside , but my cats insist on going outside even in the worst air , and they can't wear masks. Thailand is taking years off my life with the polution and the worries and frustration. -
Careful with Toshiba . I have the 416 and it is much too loud.

Aseannow is all about trump and Europe, not much about Thailand
FlorC replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
What should happen is that all non Thai news SHOULD NOT be in the email news updates. I loose time reading those links to all the left-right BS. I don't want to know, I don't go looking in the forums for it. -
"Your Bank Despises You." (essay by Dr. Vernon Coleman)
FlorC replied to Old Curmudgeon's topic in Off the beaten track
I had this happen back home . They refused to give cash (about 10 k euro). They threatened to end " the bank relation ". Not yet here in Thailand . I take out everything but the 400 thb minimum 7 months for immigration . "Your Bank Despises You." > I despise them much more. -

Thailand’s DES Ministry Blocks Access to Over 178,000 Illegal URLs
FlorC replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
NT blocks certain sites , while true/3B doesn't. I can't remember who wanted the internet firewall decades ago , taksin gov or the Prayut gov. Sinds 14 months the new gov has been blocking sites , raising taxes , more aligned with the WEF , ... Give us back Prayut ! -
I have a Dell xps , but you can forget about gestures on touchpad and screen like in windows. In linux only basic gestures and if you want to change the cooling like in mydell or dell power manager you have to go in the bios to set it. Too many downsides using linux mint. Newest computers are less supported too in linux. Forget about the easy taskmanager of W11 , no looking at the status of your gpu's. So glad to reinstall W11. But at least in linux there is no mandatory Dell audio enhancer cr_p.

Thailand's Pet Food Exports Soar 31%, Raking 80 Billion Baht
FlorC replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The latest from whiskas is more soup/sauce in those 80 gr packages than something to chew on. Their sheba even worse. So much better in europe. -
Thailand's Pet Food Exports Soar 31%, Raking 80 Billion Baht
FlorC replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well that is a big surprize . Cat food is really bad in Thailand. All stinky fish. Limited choice , all the same from wiskas, friskies or the unknown brands from the supermarkets (that stink even more). My cats don't like it very much. I don't blame them. Brought some from europe , and they loved it. Raw meat is a hazard . Still looking for jingjoks and mice in a can. 🙂 -
The West’s Unlikely Weapon in a Conflict with China: Pornography
FlorC replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Headline should be : The West’s Unlikely Weapon in a Conflict with North Korea: Pornography A lot of Chinese porn since a couple of years. A lot of Japanese porn directed and subtitled for the Chinese. Western propaganda targetting the N-Koreans in Ukraine. Tough choice , watching porn and get shot today , or survive ?
