  1. Hi Gulliver, i don't know any good lawyer, however i can surely make you aware of a particular bad one which you should definetly avoid, good luck in your search and don't forget to let us to know the outcome of it, i just sent you a private message with all the details.

  2. About bloody time too. I am totally teed off with this seemingly unstoppable assault on my privacy.

A week ago I was having a lie down since I wasn't feeling too chipper as I was convalescing after a sojourn in hospital. Somebody rang the bell at the entrance to my palatial slum, not once but three or four times. I raised myself up and went to see who or what was demanding my attention whilst I was engaged in a private quiet moment. I found no less than 4 'suits' complete with attache cses and clipboards and they immediately launched into an unmistakable sales patter - in Thai. Sod the 'keng inside' admonishments of my beloved, I went straight to hurricane force tirade. As I glanced around for something nasty, or solid, to augment what was coming their way, I told them in no uncertain terms, as if they needed confirmation, that I was less than enchanted at being disturbed. If I want to buy a washing machine or a toffee apple I go to the mall. That is what it is for - I think - although others may have other ideas. If I want some other service I will go to an agent or the company's office. What next? Staff from the ever avaricious BPH calling to see if I need an operation or some medication? I do not want to be persued into my home, a refuge from the cruel world, to augment the bottom line on a company's balance sheet.

My eyes alighted on the garden hose and I rushed to turn the tap on and pointed the jet at my tormentors. The sight of them hurtling down the soi at high speed more than assuaged my annoyance. The guy who lives next door who witnessed the event, a cop, was in hysterics over the event. It was clear that I had had a sympathetic audience so maybe this was more than a temporarily irascible farang venting his spleen.

The Yakult drinker of TV surely love them, it seems they can't get enough of that :)

  3. Drinking 1 small bottle of this deliocus pro biotic drink each day will keep you healthy - and it is delicious!

These Yakult girls should be honered for services to mankind.

Albert Einstien drank Yakult every morning :D

...and that's maybe why he couldn't even remember the way back home, probably he was looking at that "possible" delivery lady (you can see her picture if you check on this thread) :)

  4. ...I can hear them laughing all the way here in Patters :D

yes Pattaya got his own laws and if you think about it, this "thai rule" must have been created by the same person that decided that if you jump on a baht bus without saying a word you just pay 5 or 10 baht, but if you dare to just say a word to the driver, do not matter what word, even an "hello mate" then you will be charged 200-300 baht, tell the police and even the great farangs working for them will tell you that you are the wrong one! welcome to the circus :)

  5. You touch it you buy it

What is that? the "Midas Law" applied to Thailand? it would really suit the country Sir :)

just don't bring it inside and put it in your fridge.

agree, doing an intelligent thing here would just not be right :D

    Just leave it alone.

Sure! how can anyone dare to touch something inside his own property? don't even think about it you silly billy! :D

  6. No, it's a scam to pressure people in to buying something they don't really want. I'm not leaving spoilable dairy products on my doorknob for several days while I wait for them to return and collect the bottles. Any Yakult on my doorknob is going in to the trash.

Hey DP25, c'mon let's find an appropriated solution to makes everyone happy, so once all the perishables food get returned so many times and is no more suitable for human consumption, it will finally reach the door knob of the lucky appreciator of this "marketing initiative", after all the rotten milk, fish, etc... we have seen around, i highly doubt that these little bottle will be just disposed as they should, don't worry guys, once at the hospital i can tell the little lady to deliver more of it at your bed :)

  7. .....

Yes, but you are confusing a real scam costing maybe thousands or a pensioners life savings with a straight forward system that is in place and common knowledge for locals and maybe long staying farangs.

This cost the OP 68baht and he had the goods therefor no scam :)

So care to tell me what scams have happened to you can you give an example?

So it seems that 1) a scam must be more than 68 baht otherways is not a scam, can you tell me from what amount can i start considering something a scam? 2) all the elderly that ended up with encyclopedias, crazy items, you name it, have not been scammed because they actually have been given what they signed for...., that's great!

sorry but i am still not convinced by this theory, it should't be about the amount of money but about respect of the right thing to do, i really dislike people insisting so much in making me buy something (yes i don't get along very well with street taylors) and if they start invading even my own property obstructing my way in, or anything not requested that can somehow create unnecessary discomfort on my end it's a big "no-no", i will never think to leave on your doorstep my wardrobe just because i am selling it cheap and you might wanting it, on the same way as i will not park my car inside your garage because you might fancy to buy that one as well, can you see my point? i have respect for the others and i expect the same, if however you think i am wrong then please show me where as i am not perfect (but sometime it really scares me how close to perfection i am.....) :D

  8. this sales system that somehow it is wrong?

this "sales system" ( :) ) is really close to another "sales system" they do in Europe, where a great "sales person" make sign purchase agreements to the very old ladies not understanding what all these "systems" are about....luckily when this kind of things end up in courts, the companies usually get what they deserve, however here in the 3rd world things might work out a bit different...

  9. if something it's wrong it will remain wrong in whatever country i am located, just because the most of the people might eventually think something wrong is right, that doesn't make that thing right, we got already enough sheeps around, people should start using their own mind without taking something for granted, look for the truth

So basically you are just saying that you are completely ethnocentric.

Don't you realise the exact same argument can be used against all the things you believe are "right"?

well show me where and i might even agree with you, till then it's not a good idea to leave things hanging on my door.... :)

  10. if something it's wrong it will remain wrong in whatever country i am located, just because the most of the people might eventually think something wrong is right, that doesn't make that thing right, we got already enough sheeps around, people should start using their own mind without taking something for granted, look for the truth

  11. if you want the alleged plusses of this drink, it is recommended that you drink it on a regular bases.

i didn't care much about the healthy bits, i was just drinking it because it's tasty..... :)

  12. Yakult will be devastated I am sure... :)

well to everyone his own, i am doing my part :D

Reason x edit: added possible identikit

and if this is what the delivery lady look like, then i am even willing to offer my skilled and fair help to her when Yakult will be no more, is she the right one? :D

  13. IMO this is a very bad way to do business, i buy this product every now and then but after have read your story i am not going to buy them anymore, i feel sorry for whoever is trying to make a living with it but simply i don't agree with these sort of actions, as everybody can see, many people felt they have been somehow "scammed", perhaps because it is a "scam", the best thing to do will probably be give to the security in place the lot and make sure they understand you don't want any kind of commercial harassments on your doorstep or chop-chop and find a new job. By showing "complacency" you will give the wrong message to all those business out there and one day you might end up with hundreds of items obstructing your entrance, so better to think about it first and is not about the one satang or one million, if someone try to get from you something you haven't mutually agreed that's bad and shouldn't have happened on the first place, so from now on i am simply going to boycott Yakult

  14. They are highly recommended by the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT)

That really give me a sense of disgust if not worse :) , i cannot honestly imagine anyone recommending them other than all those people that just sell themself for a sandwich or two :D (you can find them in this forum).....i sent you a private message to evaluate everything by yourself...

  15. Could you pase ell me the address or Internet-contact or something to this italian Restaurant.

    Stefan

DA VINCI RESTAURANT595/2-3 Phaholyothin Rd., 053-752535. Mobile 086-656-3363.

Reason for edit: "copy & paste" was apparently not working, but once on the web, all the white fields magically became 3 times the previous not visible text, so removed the repetitions...

  16. calling this place an Italian restaurant is a shame !

    .....The Dutch owner

That would said it all.....why it didn't invest in an Amsterdam style coffee shop instead ? regards, Surhaagen Von Rayu

  17. hhiser, you may not have to re-invent the wheel. I believe there already is a consumer protection organisation in Thailand:

    old.consumerthai.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1465&Itemid=37

I also believe that Thailand has consumer protection laws:

    www.amchamthailand.org/asp/view_doc.asp?DocCID=1055

does anybody else get the feeling that some organisation exist just as a way to give some friends/relative a monthly salary and nothing else or is just me?

  18. Yes pleanty of clever businessman out there, i have been told by Sony-Ericsson that the reason why my previous mobile broke off was because i was using it, so my fault then, it's a bit like if you buy a new car and after a month all doors fall on the floor and they tell you that is your fault because you were using the doors of your car, also i have been to both the 2 big service centers they have here in BKK for a software related problem and the best suggestion they could came off with was to go to Pantip and let one of the "pirates" fix it as they couldn't do the servicing for their own products.....great!
