  1. Well i guess one would think that by being the same store it supposed to have the same products on display, unless the size don't allow this, however TIT, be aware that sometime staff moves around products too, an example, imported italian flour has always been together with all the other flours, but last time i was there it was not in that shelf anymore, by browsing the store i noticed that it has been moved far away, just next to the pasta shelf, i would try to show some staff the picture of the water i am looking for, just as a measure to be sure they understand what i am talking about....i am coming down to Pattaya next week, so if you want 10 or 20 bottles i can get them with me if you like :)

  2. I'd suggest you talk to Sunbelt or someboy who knows about the current BOI assistance, as it was quite generous back then.

and i would strongly counter-suggest that rather then give your hardly earned cash to someone that in the best of the option will just tell you what you want to hear instead of protecting your interest (so you can discover the messup at the very later stage, when you will be in trouble for not have double checked what supposed to be right), better you give your money to a local charity.....

  3. perhaps this new "trend" is just a well orchestrated plan by the usual very greedy hi-so, where a well masquerade wish to improve the society is in fact only a way to drive many people out of business so they can cheaply aquire new assets....just a thought

  4. At Central you can find natural sparkling water from Italy and France :)

That's Perrier and San Pellegrino and another cheaper Italian brand. But that is not what I am looking for, because it is rather low carbonated. German Gerolsteiner or any other brand would be great, but I assume that the import is not feasible as transportation and import costs do make the product too expensive.

    Cheers

I went out for some shopping today, so i have taken the opportunity to have a quick look for you guys....here it is, Central BKK :D

  5. Buy five - get one free. all for the agencies.

mmm... somehow this quote remind me of a packet of shaving rasors i have seen on the shelf at Central, where the "extra" free 1 rasor was promptly charged by the clever management, possibly some greggy's relative, did they all went to the same business school over here?

  6. I feel like being young, or a farang-noi if you will, still puts me in a bit of a novelty category in terms of my interaction with Thais. Sometimes I will go somewhere, be it a shop or restaurant or hotel and I observe that Thai people are much more friendly towards me than they are to you, a 40,50,60 year old farang.

Hello John, i came across similar situations where a elder person was treathed somewhat a bit "colder" or just lets say in a more "formal way" by the staff in charge, however my perception of that was not that they were just more friendly towards me because of the age, to the contrary it seems that in the thai culture the elderly are much more respected then in some western cultures, so these thais probably were just staying as much "formal" as they could to avoid appearing as disrespecting the elder customer, then when they meet you as a younger person they might have felt more relaxed about the situation and have taken some more confidence in a friendly way, that's possibly an explanation, however there are so many different situations and circumstances in this world that sometime it become so difficult to really understand what's happening around us.

Now, sometimes I am kinda scared for the future, how I will be treated in Thailand. To be honest, again, I really don't feel like you guys get treated very well. I border on the line of saying that Thai people more or less hate you.

I think than more than "hate" that would be just "greed" and i noticed that they also tend to scam each others as well as the farangs or those very unlucky other ethnicity that got a less fortunate fate (ie: Burmese workers), the worse of all however are the so called "bad farang professionals", this last category despite in so many cases not having any economic issues (ie: being starving for food because of no money) still like to litterally steal their customers money, some of which just try to legitimate their theft by saying "...this is the way it works in Thailand, so if you don't like it then that's going to be the reason of your failure...", how to justify this kind of attitudes? in my very own personal views i define this kind of business like "a russian roulette game", before or later this "clever" kind of business man is going to get the "bullet" kind of customer he deserves and is not really a point of "if" but more a "when", while a "poor" scammer stealing to survive might get some sort of compassion, these rotten elements really should get no simpathy at all.

Thailand somehow resemble how some parts of the old Europe was not so long time ago, i still recall when some of the elderly were talking about how on their little town was possible to leave the front door of the house unlock, the same with the windows, car, etc....try to do it now and spot the differences....so what are the reasons behind these bad changes? why the moral values are going all in the waste bin(and Thailand is no exception)? I am an atheist but i believe that the loss of religion values in this country (or better to say the moral values in it) are playing a big part, people watch the tv way too much and the wrong things too, those "lakorns" where you see people killing each others, fighting, disbehaving, you name it...are just telling people "look, this is the way the world works, learn how to be a winner in this way", all our knowledge is based on things we have learned to copy and use for our benefit, apart from some TV posters which are absolutely "self made" :) that's what it is, so how can we can made something to change in a better way? maybe by being ourself first what we would like others to be too? it seems reasonable to me

  7. from my own experience and feedback i have seen around, it looks like there is a more relaxed kind of attitude as long as your paperwork is fine, however you might well find the same or possibly even better with other countries but i am not personally aware of this, so other users might tell you about their experiences about the other EU countries, good luck.

  8. In the Subway at Prom Phong I bought a big sprite and was shown a sign saying free refill. When I went back for the refill I was charged by a different member of staff. When I tried to remove the sign from the register, I found it was too firmly glued for me to make an effective protest (didn't want a criminal damage charge as well).

Policy at Subway seems to vary between staff, let alone between branches or countries.

Knowing whoes is olding this franchising here in Los, that doesn't surprise me at all, actually if you try to report your complaint to him he will probably tell you that it's all your fault and surely his staff in charge it's the best you can find, etc.. so it must to be your mistake i am sure, the reason why i tend to avoid all of his sca....sorry i meant to say "business ventures", now that i am aware the way he operates, it's just a pure coincidence....

  9. This article from The Nation shed some light on what this Human Right Commission really is, the article is really self explanatory and somehow explain why so many people see no other ways to fix a problem, other than the "thai way", if local authorities fail to protect the interests of the single individuals and the community then it's either a "leave it as it is" or "diy" kind of situation, the local consumers protection organisation seems to be no better than them too, welcome to the wild wild east....

  10. Does it really matter in the end, for how long a person is going to live? just one day or a 100 years do not really matter to me, try to live your life at is best as long as your actions will not make other's lifes worse (unless you have a reason for it, ie: chasing a scammer), we could be gone any days and for any given reasons, the trick stays in making sure we live decently without risking to have a worse life tomorrow, in addition to this i will also suggest to never procreate, as i really see this as a really irresponsible and selfish act, people seems to prolificate just to make sure they get some sort of "back up" later during the life cycle, how can someone do something like that? it doesn't matter how rich they will be as the sufference a human being will be subjected to during their life is surely not worth the ride, think, you will get sick, see almost everything and everyone you love or care about die, being destroyed, etc, sorry if i might sound kind of pessimistic but that's how i see reality, so, enjoy your life at it's best but be responsible! :D:)

  11. Just as a quick note, everytime you update the software of your Iphone, that update might eventually lead to your phone becoming all of a sudden incompatible with previously used items that didn't had any issues before that particular update, as a sad additional note it seems not possible to reverse that step by going back to the previous version for some of the updates, so be carefull there...

  12. ....You joined to tell us this only ? :D

......mmmmm i don't think there is an option to post messages whithout joining or am i wrong? thanks to the op that taked the time to register to share his info, whatever good or bad they might be :D

.... But If you bothered to read it properly that's not what I was saying ????

:) yes i know my grammar tends to object itself sometime, however the final means of "communicating" is just to understand each others, while not necessarely agree with each others, so if you can understand what i means then i reach my final target and i am happy with it :D ...was i wrong in interpretating your post on that way? to me looked just like that....

  13. Typical snotty comment from the sort of smart-arse that people do warn you about on this forum...... if you were a regular contributor to this biking sub-forum (I'm a newbie myself but hoping to become an old hand here) you'd realise that bikers belong to a universal brotherhood, and stories like this are appreciated wherever you go. Do you have any inkling what the IOM means to bikers?

    Seconded.

then i would just say that as i am not sure of what is all this about,i agree too for the sake of my scooter, anybody else want to join the caravan? somehow in this country i feel more attracted by the many sisters around, love and peace :)
