What exactly is a Thai pink ID card?
petedk replied to Equatorial's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
On the MRT it is 60. I bought one without any problems. Just showed my passport. BTS refuse to sell them to foreigners. Just as the 20 baht flat rate will be for Thais only. -

I tried with my pink card but was refused. "Only Thai people!" -
Report Thailand Expands Alcohol Sale Venues Amid New Law Changes
petedk replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What are "tourist areas", what are "special areas", "deignated venues". Yes, it's very vague -
I sometimes see security guards, in pairs and with dogs getting on and off the MRT trains. That seems to be enough security. Oh, and of course we all have to go through metal detectors so there is no chance of anyone carrying weapons on the MRT. 🫢

There are CCTV cameras on most trains too. (At least on MRT)

Crime Russian Woman Arrested for Prostitution on Koh Phangan
petedk replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
haha In comparison: I was talking to my friend this morning and he was saying that his "girlfriend" (she works in a bar) has been offered a job in Japan. They told her she could earn 150,000 in 12 days and no matter how hard he tried to convince her, she wouldn't believe him. I gues the Russians can demand more money in the tourist areas such as Phuket, so five customers a month is an easy job for her. -

And where does one find a comprehensive list of these laws? I have searched Google many times about opening hours, noise levels, public disturbance, but seem to get vague results. Asking for a friend 🙂 -

You forgot to mention that he was fine when he landed in Thailand. His sickness came very rapidly after he was sent to jail (and probably hit him before he even managed to see inside his cell). yes, it was a remarkable recovery. Nothing short of a miracle. -
Video Rangers Hunt for Tourists Feeding Monkeys in Krabi's Monkey Bay
petedk replied to snoop1130's topic in Krabi News
At no point did the photographer say that it was illegal. He only asked why they were doing it. As the foreignbers asked what his problem was it seems that they were unaware that it was illegal. People feed monkeys all over Thailand so I guess they thought it was ok -
Shirtless Tourist Sparks Outrage at Thai Restaurant

Thank you for your very polite answer. No I didn't search Google. As I said I tried to deduce the meaning from the context, and that is why I replied immediately. FYI, I did Google after I finished my daily reading of Aseannow and saw the meaning, but I didn't return to this site until now. -
huh! I'll give them 0 for lighting. Our street lights work 2 weeks , don't work 6 or 7 weeks, work 1 week, don't work 6 -7 weeks. We have complained, the neighbours have complained but nothing helps. As there is no footpath and it is a very busy road, I have now bought a powerful LED torch and shine at the traffic. I have cars stop and ask me what's wrong, so I tell them I am afraid of being hit.

Travel Fake TDAC Website Emerges as New System Debuts in Thailand
petedk replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
As someone said it isn't fake or a scam as it clearly(?) states that it is a third party site. I remember when I tried to do my TM30 for the first time I was met with a similar site. There the fact that it was a third party was quite cleverly hidden. As with many official sites, there are commercial sites that pay Google for their site to be advertise and they often come before the main official site. -

Accident Retired Police Figure from 'Boss' Case in New Hit-and-Run Controversy
petedk replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Was it his home where he stopped? There are so many cases in Thailand of "fleeing the scene" and this should automatically be heavily punished.
