  1. This, and the multiple other threads on EVs, just reinforces that, like so many other things on the internet, people tend to divide into two tribes - the fingers-in-ear types who will hear nothing bad said about them, and the fingers-in-ear types who will hear nothing good said about them. ( And, as has already been shown on this thread, many in the latter camp are also driven by China/Thai/ anywhere other than their own country, or ones similar to it, bashing). My next car, (not for a few years yet though), will very likely be an EV, and I would have no hesitation in buying one from a Chinese manufacturer. However, I do take note of the news surrounding some of these vehicles and their batteries. Such as the Jaguar i-Pace (Austrian made), Chevrolet Bolt (US made) and Hyundai Kona (Czech Republic and India made). All of these models have been recalled due to battery fires, and, not coincidently, all use the same LG battery type (made in several locations in the US, Europe and South Korea). Note that neither China nor Thailand appear anywhere in their manufacturing locations, though the Korean bashers can continue feeling smug. This is not a bash on EVs, but rather pointing out that, when these things happen, they can usually be traced to one particular piece of tech, with the lessons learned allowing it to be fixed or changed. Rather than putting their heads in a bucket of sand and denying everything, EV owners should acknowledge this. However, given the length of time that MG EVs have been sold in Thailand, and the hot conditions here, there surely would have been some indication of fire problems by now. The possibility of my new EV car bursting into flames will play as small a part in my decision as to what type of car to buy in the future as the possibility that my petrol or diesel powered one will do the same. 2. You too normally have impeckable habits, so it's sad to see you resorting to fowl comments, and all over a few poultry remarks I happened to make. I also find your KFC references to be in bad taste. Bringing back memories of my poverty ridden childhood. My father's idea of a treat was to take us there to lick other people's fingers.
  3. Strictly no rental of motorcycles to any tourist in Pattaya. Problem solved. Better still... Strictly no rental of motorcycles to any tourist in Thailand. Problem solved.
