The Shinawatra family continues to face challenges
Next time the voters will demand payment in advance for their votes, like back in the good old days. I guess that they will take the money and not feel obligated to vote for Pheu Thai.

Pattaya police crack down on noisy Kuwaiti motorcyclists - video
This sounds like the average app-delivery bike in Thailand. Did the Kuwaiti's all have valid drivers licences?

Disney fights Thai doctor’s death lawsuit, citing husband’s agreement
Why sue for just U$50,000 and not U$50,000,000?

Thailand businesses urged to adopt same-day delivery strategies
Why not start by offering day to day delivery. I order most stuff from Lazada or Shopee, where delivery from Thai suppliers to greater Bangkok takes at least 2 days.

Finance Ministry Pushes 99-Year Leases for Foreigners
That would be true, if you will have to pay income tax of the money you transfer to Thailand to buy the condo, as it has been rumored for a very long time. As far as I am concerned, a u-turn has not yet been made on this idea.

Older Diesel Cars to Undergo Stricter Inspections to Curb Pollution
Stricter pollution regulations is good, but stricter law enforcement would be better. Also all motorbikes and cars with modified exhaust systems should be removed from the roads.

FTI Urges Government Action as 567 Thai Factories Close in Five Months
I wonder what they were thinking about, when making the free trade agreement with China! Maybe some heavy brown envelopes have been distributed?

Torsak Sukvimol Reinstated as Police Chief After Investigation
Could that by any chance be the same committee, that didn't find any prostitution in Pattaya?

Thai commando takes taxi driver for a ride after fare fraud fiasco
The 300 baht tourist tax was probably scrapped because they found out, that the average tourists are already being scammed out of much more than 300 baht, every time they visit the country.

Former deputy interior minister Vatana returns home after 16 years in hiding
It always amazes me, how a prison sentence can expire, for a convicted felon, if he just flees the country for a number of years. The prison sentence should be waiting indefinitely

Thai Tourism Revenue to Hit 3 Trillion Baht, Falls Short of Goal
The real estate market in China is suffering and has not even hit the bottom yet. Why not invest in other more financially strong markets?

Taxing times: Tourism Minister stands firm with 300 baht tourist tax
Another fine example of Dual Pricing in Thailand. This makes me feel, that they don't really want us here, even though they are heavily dependent on our money.

AirAsia soars to new heights: Asia’s best low-cost carrier for 2024
I stopped using Air Asia a few years ago after two consecutively cancelled flights. Air Asia is no longer among the cheapest. I had a credit with them expiring soon and had to pay 8,000 Baht for two return tickets from Bangkok to Phuket including 2x20 kg luggage in September.

Thailand Considers VAT on Imported Goods Under 1,500 Baht
Good luck with that. It will be an administrative and logistics nightmare.

New Tax Rules for Expats in Thailand Spark Concern
This seems like a bulletproof loophole. There will probably be found other ways to get around the demand for taxation. The most obvious way to avoid taxation in Thailand, will be to spend as little money as possible in Thailand, compared to now, where we spend or save all your money in Thailand. I guess that this was not the governments intention with this law. I have already started paying for all my international purchases with my foreign credit card, in order to avoid taxation in Thailand. I am from a country with a double taxation agreement with Thailand and my pension have already been taxed before I receive it. I wonder if I will be able to deduct the full already paid tax, when I transfer only a smaller amount of my pension to Thailand.

New Mobile Banking Rules Aim to Curb 'Horse' Accounts
My sim is also in my wifes name. This because the phone companies did not allow me to have a post paid account with them, without having a work permit. Why is this information shared only on the day it is effective? Would have been nice to have a little time to get things changed.

Motorcycle Accident in Pattaya Claims Life of a British Man
The video does not match the article, since they were driving in different directions. The video does not show the accident itself, but it is not hard to imagine, that the vendor probably made a right turn in front of the brit who was driving at high speed in opposite direction.

British Tourist Dies in Tragic Jet Ski Accident in Phuket
