No need for MFA certification. I, a teacher here with a work permit, have signed photos in the past and they have been accepted.
On my own passport renewal I got a teacher from the school where I was at the time. a Thai, so sign my photos.

That means Monday morning I have to go to my immigration office to state that i'm back home & she (who is very infirm) has to go to her nearest immigration office which is very far from her to register that I stayed at her house as a guest !!!
She cannot do it online as she has no concept of computers/mobile apps or the internet as she is 89 years old !
How is it "not really that hard for her"?
Or how are we a threat to national security?
I've told my wife she will have to go alone & I will chat with mother-in-law via my wifes mobile phone !
Thank you very much immigration
If she does no report you were there then you do not have to report your return. Who will ever know???? No one.

If the views "they don't want us here" and "they all hate us" and the like are to e believed, then surely this is playing into their hands. A bunch of foreigners complaining and whinging. I bet the Thai authorities love it, if they really do hate us.

Try a different browser.
Tried everything. I am a trouble shooter and will always try every which way until I ask for advice. I know for a fact that I was not the only person having major difficulties yesterday.

Still trying. Possibly the worst website I have ever come across.
15 working days wait for visa but allow a month to navigate the application process. Lol.

Good Morning,
I can't seem to get passed the appointment page on the VFS website.
It is an application for a UK visitor visa for my wife. We have completed the application and uploaded the forms. Continue from that page and onto the book appointment page.
My wife's intended travel date is 9th November. I am trying to get an appointment for 9th September.
Once the appointment, standard slot, has been booked there is a "confirm order" button. This is unresponsive. As the page is loading I can briefly see a "Cancel" button and a "Continue" button but they soon disappear.
Anyone with any ideas?
Thanks.

Live in the sticks?
Sent from my Lenovo A7020a48 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
I regularly speak to up to 50 expats every month. The amount is actually increasing rather than decreasing.

I notice prices going up every day (Thai wife does and points it out). My usual grab bag of 6-8 things at 7/11, milk, juice, sugar etc. used to cost under 500 baht, now its over 600 baht. The usual trolley of groceries from bigC used to cost 2,000 baht, its now 2,500. just yesterday the usual pack of bacon went from 300 to 320 baht, a knob of butter was 90 baht and its now 110 baht.
Yes you can find some things that haven't gone up (yet) but a large percentage of normal everyday things has gone up by 10-20%.in the last year.
As for people leaving, I dont know any, have been chatting to a couple of new arrivals at the condo pool.
I've been buying bacon for the same price for the last 5 years. 260B/Kg. Having said that, I often make my own.

I think it is fair to say that the FC was on the slide from the day the owner, Martin, died.
For the period of time when his widow was still running it it was still doing OK as the money from the car and bike hire, which was run from the FC, was keeping the income flowing. As soon as she rented the property and took the car hire with her it was always going to struggle. With rent to pay and only Thai staff, no money or investment from overseas, the expences were always going to be difficult to cover.
There would be a good crowd late afternoon to early evening some days with a bigger crowd on Sundays.
As already mentioned, the opening of other bars around Surin has also had an effect.
The Aussie sports bar, now also closed, opposite, The Fantasy Bar (used to be Norbies), Watering Hole and The Beach near to Speed, and also Bamboozled that has a large gathering on Fridays. They are the main drinking bars but there are also a good selection of restaurants with Starbeam probably the most well known.
The OP said 2 years but I would guess that the Farang Connection closed more recently than that. It was sad to see it go as it was an icon of Surin.

Thanks Briggsy, can you show me where it says it's not permitted?
It most definitely is not allowed. I'm very surprised the IO at the border did not notice.
As and when an eagle eyed IO does see it, and possibly the previous times, you will find yourself in all sorts of trouble.

Thanks guys
have found a couple of places for the milks and sugars, cheaper than Makro including delivery
All the local shops here buy from Makro and resell at higher price, so need to buy cheaper than Makro's price so i can undercut them and still make the profit margins
Just got to source the dreaded plastic items, lol
Thanks again for your help and advice, much appreciated
If Udon is like any other Issan town I would be inclined to look around the railway station area. In the past, this was where people set up shop as their supplies were sent by train from Bangkok.
Many shops would be selling such items as you are looking for to local shops, noodle shops and restaurants, etc.

I got an email from Halifax staing the same. I got my mate to bring me a Vodafone sim card, that I ordered online and sent to his address.
Topped up a fiver. Need to use it once every 90 days to keep it alive.

Trade account as a wholesale customer, not as just another bulk-buying retail customer. Bigger savings.
Checked Ngee Soon yet? Two locations but the biggest and easier access one is out Nadee side.
My wife has a trade account at Makro.
On spending an average of 30k a month there she gets a rebate of about 180 baht. Not really worth worrying about.
She does get a monthly visit by 2 Makro reps though. Lol.

Rajapat courses are in the region of 15000 a term. 2 terms a year for 4 years.
Add a few baht for uniforms, books and other things and you will be well withing the 300k quote.
-
I tried it for 3 months at the start of this year. No meat but I did eat fish and other sea food.
I did OK and made a lot of nice dishes. Makro happened to be going through promotions on prawns and salmon for quite a few weeks so that was good.

Yes. You can get a visa on arrival at the border.

Come on holiday to Thailand, get Dengue and spend a couple of million Baht in a hospital to have it treated, maybe your insurance will cover it, maybe not.
There is no treatment per se. I had dengue 2 years ago. On a drip with paracetamol. 7 days stay. 13000 baht. Insurance picked up the tab.

Prior to the referendum result the country was coasting along quite happily as part of the EU.

Before the EU became a gravy train and let in countries with extremely low GDPs and very poor economies, between 2004 and 2007, it was 76.

UK Pensions (2018)
in Home Country Forum
Posted
I think you'll find that the cut off dates for receiving your pension at 67 have already been fixed.
Any further increase would be for those born at a later date.
Not 100% but I believe the cut off for 67 years old was being born before 1st April 1970. That date rings a bell as I only made it by a couple of weeks.
