  1. This season, I receive the EPL using a " RS Sunbox" connected to an existing True dish, which was installed for around 1600 baht by a local Thai guy and cost me 1800 baht prepaid subscription for the whole season. I can only get Stadium 1-5 and X, but can usually watch all my team's matches. Much better than the previous subscription to CTH, which if I recall was about 750 baht per month. This eliminates any irregularities with the CTH billing system....

  2. This year i changed from a rental property to live in the girlfriends village home. I dont have a rental agreement anymore so need advice for residency confirmation for my future visa extention based on retirement. I have also been advised that she somehow has to advise immigration that there is an alien residing in her house. I live in the Lampang area that does not have a local immigration office.

A signed copy of the house owner's ID card and blue house book is what I provide for proof of address.

Form TM30 is used to advise immigration of an alien living in a Thai residence.

It can be downloaded from http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm30.pdf

  3. My post is a photo of a document that was given to me by the immigration office at Lop Buri, it is what they require and I have no problem with complying.

I don't need to link to anything I know what the (very friendly and helpful) immigration office I attend requires and I provide it.

Up to you what you do and what you believe but I give you a word of advice.

Get rid of your negative and provocative attitude and you will find dealing with immigration, and life in general in Thailand, much easier.

Thanks for the advice. I've always given immigration anything they asked for in a timely manner and never had any problems. I have never given them more than they asked for.

That was my point. Don't make up requirements, like maps to your house or photos of you and the Mrs when applying for a retirement visa. Don't give em any ideas how to make it harder for us poor old expats.

I also think it is a big mistake to take your wife when applying for a retirement visa. Nothing to do with her and only creates problems. But that's my opinion.

You have the advantage when they think they have to explain stuff in English.

Don't smile, don't frown, be neutral and nice and act dumb rather than smart. But that's only my opinion. Your milage may vary.

When you visit an immigration office where little or no English is spoken IMHO it is a big advantage to take your wife / GF with you especially if (like me) your Thai language skills are not adequate enough to allow a detailed discussion with the immigration officer in the event of an issue....but that's just me

  4. I prefer Nestle cornflakes as they don't go soggy so quickly as Kelloggs.

Makro CM superhighway had plenty of both in big bags earlier this week.

If you keep the cornflakes in an airtight container they last for ages. I use Kelloggs and they never go soggy. I get mine from Makro (either Buriram or Korat) Nestles don't ever go soggy....even when you put milk on them!!!!! Like eating balsa wood IMHO

Soggy when you pour the milk on, not soft because they are old and left out for weeks.

"heavy with water or moisture : completely wet and usually soft"

(amazed people don't know the definition of soggy)

Nestle cornflakes 99bht for 500gm in Mackro.

OK misunderstood your first post....my bad

  5. Thanks longstebe

Yep, well done, Dick has certainly earned his bonus because I had you dead and buried a month ago.

I feel a bit sorry for Steve Bruce and Hull because I think Newcastle will scrape through.

    Ta Jip99

  6. You can breathe easily now for the weekend eh and just watch how nervous Hull and Newcastle are.

Yes....IMHO I think Newcastle (despite recent form) have more chance of beating WHU than Hull have of beating MU...

  8. Premier league needs both Newcastle and Sunderland its one of the biggest football rivalries.

    However:

    1. I can't see Newcastle winning again this season although there's only one game to go

    2. I can't see Hull beating Man U

Some serious <deleted> has to happen at the Magpies for them to become a class act.

    Sunderland.........they also need help

Biggest mistake NUFC made this season IMHO was to undervalue Alan Pardew and let him go....he deserved much more respect than he was shown and subsequently demonstrated this immediately upon arrival @ Crystal Palace

Agree that us Mackems also need help

  9. I don't want Newcastle or Sunderland to go down, and hopefully they can be joined

by the Smoggies, the supporters in the NE must be the best in the World,to still be

behind the clubs ,its the f@$king management, they put money before everything,

find a decent player, does well ,value goes up, sell him.

    regards worgeordie

    +1

  10. same old same old with sunderland ,a manager comes in and your fortunes turn around and you avoid relegation then he lasts a 3/4 's of a season maybe a touch more then the cycle happens again, how many times now? sori but poyet said there's something intrinsically wrong within the club , I make him right.

Poyet MUST be right, otherwise it would be his fault????

  11. I expect that, like me, you want Newcastle to go... We play them last game in what will hopefully be Allardyce's last game.. I'm sure he'll be keen to send them down.

Not really as I like to see all NE teams do well, but if it's them or us....YES
