  1. Sent much much more than was required, but better than not enough.

Thanks for sharing your personal experience with us, especially the info regarding supporting documentation. Very useful to me as Mrs M has decided she want's to visit the UK, so I am planning a short trip next year ....Did you have to get your fiancee's ID card & house book translated?

  2. I believe this is to facilitate the auto process, next 90 day report all you will need is passport, I noticed this last week that there were 2x people processing the 90 day reports and if you went to the lady at the computer people were told after that only passport needed in the future - no forms - no photo copies etc. Luck of the draw on the day, I was almost tempted to miss my turn so I could get the lady

I got my photo taken when I renewed my extension on Dec 11. I don't think the photo is to simplify 90 day reporting as they have had "paperless" reporting implemented for some time now @ Kap Choeng immigration...just my opinion of course

  3. Just watched the Chelsea v West Ham game. I thought WH might have given Chelsea a hard time....but it didn't happen... surprised Andy Carroll was taken off....not his fault that he wasn't getting the service IMHO....but when Song replaced him, he seemed to fire WH up to the extent that they nearly got a late goal...pretty good goal by Costa...no comment about the other one

  4. Good update. When I did marriage extension in Udon, I always gave them 4 pictures, one outside the front gate (with house number), one at the front door showing interior, one in the living room and one with us all sitted on the bed in the bedroom. Each one also included NL Jr. Although a rather arcane requirement by some offices, I never found it too invasive but made sure that it was a completely new suite of photos each year.

Same for me NL....just done mine in Kap Choeng and provided same pics as you....and I also take new pics each year

  5. A year ago and longer, I read dozens, if not hundreds of posts on dozens of threads- indicating that paying the fine was the only negative consequence of being on overstay, and even multiple overstays.

The OP has posted a personal experience that reinforces the fact that things have actually changed. I, for one, appreciate the information.

The righteous moralistic (being polite here) responses to the OP are exactly why more people don't post their personal experiences. And the expat/tourist community here is poorer for it.

Nothing to do with being self righteous, moralistic ot holier-than-thou....I don't give a furk if you overstay by 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year or 25 years..it's just the fact that people start to bleat when a dilligent Immigration Official identifies and asks questons about previous transgressions and gives them a "hard time"...If you can't do the time...don't do the crime....

  6. I think I must have been watching a different game to previous posters or I need to step down my alcohol consumption on a Saturday. IMHO (and that's all it is) I thought that Man City were spectacularly unspectactular in the first half....but in the second half they were dynamite....good job David Silva was fit and able to return...what a pity he was taken off....he didn't look toooo happy himself

Not clear whose comments you're picking up on but I think you've summed up the game ok. It was hard graft in the 1st half against a packed defence playing on the counter. Second half we got the desired early goal which opened up the game. For me, we didn't panic, we had to play with a difficult team selection, but we got the job done. Happy man!

Just airing my views my man. I was just offering an alternative view of jellydog's post...that it wasn't all one way...

  8. I live in Buriram province but I do my 90 day reports in Nakhon Ratchasima province, as it is a 250Km round trip journey to Kap Choeng as opposed to a 120Km round trip to the immigration office @ Dan Kwien (Korat) office....most of my mates do the same, no problem

I just turn up with my passport (no other documents required) and am usually in and out in less than 5 minutes

  9. Man City V Everton: So far I've seen 2 kung foo style kicks (one of which should have resulted in a RED card IMHO) which are better than any I've seen in any of Bruce Lee's movies.....On a different note, lets hope Aguero's injury is minor and he can return soon...he is the most awesome player I've watched this season....Also, fair play to Milner who wasn't looking for a penalty....you can't play it on your fiddle...I wonder if referee's are required to have their eyesight tested regularly.....

  10. Brilliant example of British Bulldog Wartime Fighting Spirit from the Geordies there. There'll be some puking and fighting on the streets of Newcastle tonight.

    And now to Mordor....

There's puking and fighting EVERY Saturday night in the streets of Newcastle.....LOL....and Sunderland

  11. Not said this many times but I enjoyed that, we were excellent. Performance of the season.

I think that we started OK for the first 18 minutes anyway....but after the equaliser we were completely overwhelmed....the best team won....can't argue with that....I agree that our goal was a fluke...luckily Aguero was substituted other wise it could have been worse

You started the better of the two teams, buckley and wickham in particular on zaba were giving us problems, and when we went a goal behind I for one thought here we go again. It was so important that we equalised quickly. But I think you ran in to City just as the majority of players put a shift in for the first time this season.

Think most of us on here would be interested in why the fans started leaving so early...I was so shocked...it has to be due to a series of games and not just due to being 1v4 down...right?

    Good luck today.

North east football fans are very unforgiving....it's probably because we had a good start and then fizzled out...this is an old story...unfortunately.....Thanks for your good wishes for todays battle against Liverpool

  13. You can apply on the last day your permission to stay expires if you want...assuming that the immigration office is open of course. In your case, Feb 15 is a Sunday, so to be safe the last day would be Friday 13th.....I normally apply for a renewal of my extension to stay within the last 30 days before my permission to stay expires, which in your case would be between January 23 and February 13

  14. As william-pad wrote, DVB-S2 receivers sends +13vdc or +18vdc to select between TWO possible satellite signal feeds (polarized signals sent either Horizontally or Vertically).

If one of the DVB-S2 receivers is 'always' sending +18vdc up the coaxial line then it prevents the LNB Feed from ever selecting the opposite polarity necessary for the 'other' DVB-S2 box to receive the correct signal feed from the satellite.

Option One: Running TWO coaxial cables and using a Dual-Feed LNB.

Option Two: Using a Power Strip with individual ON/OFF circuits so you can power-OFF one DVB-S2 while the other is powered-ON might also work. **

** Option Two may cause issues with subscription updates ... meaning your subscription channels might give you an error while the box waits for the next timed update to be sent out.

Option Two is what I am currently doing. If I encounter issues regarding the timed updates then I will replace the current LNB with a dual feed LNB.

  15. Your set top box sends two voltages 13volts and 17 volts to select the signal polarity, this is where yoiu are having a conflict True uses the same polarity so no conflict with two true boxes.

You should buy a dual input LNB for around 500 baht and your boxes will run independantly, you will also need to run a second co-axial cable as well

    OK Thanks for the explanation
