Is it really that complicated, wasp is complcateing the issue by throwing it all into one pot. He needs to decide what visa works for him and just look at the requirements are for that visa.
You are exactly right moe666. It's not complicated at all, as you say, the OP just needs to focus on a single goal and concentrate on acheiving that goal.

Technically it is valid until midnight, but at 12.01 am the next day you are an overstay!
You have to renew or leave on or before the 23/09/10.
Also - if you leave and re-enter (with a re-entry permit) before 23/9 - you will get another 90 days from when you re-enter. (At least that is how I understand it.)
That is only if you have a non-O-A which was obtained in your own country. It does not apply to extensions done here.
A multi O-A visa would give you another 365 days, a multi Non Immigrant o will give you 90 days from when you re-enter before the expiry date of your visa. If you are on an 1 year extension, a re-entry permit will keep your current permission to stay alive.

You can use an e-visa to enter Cambodia at certain border crossings and only get a small stamp in your passport ratherthan use a full page

About copies of PP for free:
I have scanned all used pages and combined two pages in the upper part of an A4 sheet and the next two on the lower part using PhotoScape software.
Add or replace pages as needed when changes have been made.
All you have to do whenever copies are needed just hit he print button. But it has to be in black n white! They do not accept color copies.
I've done this for all our documents for which copies are frequently required.

Thats what I did when I applied for my first extension of stay at Chok Chai to save paper. The officer who dealt with my application told my wife that she would accept 8 passport pages in colour per A4 sheet this time but next time I would have to have only 2 passport pages per A4 sheet. I suppose it depends on the Immigration office.....as per all other differing requirements.

Ditto.
Never filled it in and never had a problem

Happened to me 2 weeks ago when I lost my wallet..... I had to give copies of my passport ID page and Visa page as well as showing them my passport. I also had a copy of the police report of my lost wallet as my wife says they sometimes ask for it. In and out in less than 15minutes, which includes getting the photocopies and having my photo taken.

I went to Bangkok earlier in the week to do the same. I went to the embassy myself to get the Affirmation endorsed by the British Embassy. All I needed was the application form & my passport. I submitted it just after 8am and picked it up just after 1pm and the fee was 2834 baht. I used an agent to do the translation and take it to the MFA to be notarised. The cost was 1800 baht, which includes the MFA fee & postage by EMS to my house in Buriram. The cost of the translation alone is 250 baht for one page. I'm expecting the documents tomorrow. PM me if you want me to send you a scan of the agency business card.As bigneilo states above, using an agent removes the hassle of potentially incorrect translations and multiple visist to the MFA

A Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa will give you up to up to 15 months but needs a border run every 90 days.
A single will give you 9 days.
A 12 month extension from Immigration based on having a Thai Wife will give 12 months and you do not have to leave.
A 12 month extension from Immigration based on Retirement will give 12 months and you do not have to leave.
Requirements for extensions Here
LB, I'm sure you meant to type 90 days for a single entry Non O....

I've just read on another forum that the Chok Chai Immigration office has moved from route 24 @ Chok Chai to a new location near the Pottery Village about 12km from the Chok Chai intersection down route 224. Has anyone been there yet who can confirm that it is now operational??

400K THB must stay at least 3 months in a saving/current account
The seasoning period is only 2 months for a first time applicatio, which is what the OP states.

It's better to get Cambodian Tourist eVisa online before you go to Poipet for $25. Instead of using a full page, you get 2 small stamps(entry & exit) and don't have to deal with the touts. This removes the need for step 4 above.

It's better to get your Cambodian visa online in advance. You only pay $20 and you only get 2 small cambodian stamps (entry & exit) in your passport rather than using a full page.
Google "Cambodian evisa" for details

I'm not a crusader either but I refuse pay these touts also. I believe in integrity and fair play and was lampooned when I posted my experience of not paying 500 baht to a tout @ Poipet to jump the queue and get my passport stamped ahead of all the other people who were queueing patiently.....
Integrity and fair play in this part of the world or on this form?
Fair Comment.
I forgot to add to my original post that while I disagree with paying touts, I wouldn't try to convert those who do......

If the "use before" date is April 18 2011, then you can arrive in Thailand on April 17 2011 on a multiple entry Non "O" visa. It is the single entry visa that is only valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

Thanks for all your replies and advice chaps, I'm happy now.

I am currently on my first one year extension (of a Non Immigrant O visa) based upon retirement, with permission to stay until Jan 2011. My 90 day report is due on April 26. I am visiting the UK on May 3 for just over 2 weeks, so I will get a re-entry permit when I do my 90 day report. When I return to Thailand, what will be stamped in my passport when I pass through immigration at BKK airport? Will it be another 90 day permission to stay, or will I get a stamp up to the end of my current extension? Or something else?
Thanks in advance.

just incase anyone can answer this tonight .. how long does it usually take to get sent the email after applying for the eVisa ? .. it says no more than 3 days .. but if its usually instant i might have a go before tomorrow when i leave
I applied in the evening and got it the next morning.
Dont forget to print 2 copies, one for entry & one for exit....

Not correct. Your address is on the reverse side of the new style licence.
I stand humbly corrected.
I never bothered to read what was written in thai on the back of my Thai D/L, but my address is there plain as can be. ..
Sorry about the wrong info. ..
Have they changed them recently ??, I have the credit card sized licence issued in 2549 and the address is on the front??.
regards
Freddie
I got mine first week in December, so I guess so.....hence the phrase "new style"....

I put M x 90 on my application.

Also if i take a 20 dollar bill will they have to accept it, or will they push me for 1000 baht or whatever they claim these days, the fact i will be going to the casino will put me in a stronger negotiation situation i believe as ive been to the border before and know the score a little, but ive not been for a while hence why i'm not sure of the situation these days.
The visa run company will take care of that. Its all included in the price

The legal requirement is for the applicant to be the holder of a Non-Immigrant visa and to have a residential address confirmed by his Embassy or Immigration.
That is what I had to show when I got my car & motorbike licences at Nang Rong less than 2 weeks ago. I got the residence certificate from Chok Chai Immigration Office.
Did you have to pay bt500 for that. Someone on another forum is saying that he had to pay bt500 + bt50 for postage as they had to apply to BKK for it?
This is Chok Chai, he was talking about
Yes, I had to pay 500 baht. I took my application form to Chok Chai, who then faxed it to BKK. I picked the residence certificate up the next day.

I visited SM Hospital in May of this year. I live in Buriram province, but my wife recommended St. Mary's to me. We got there around 10am and it was busy, but I was there just over 2 hours, which included the wait for blood test results. I was very happy with the service which cost just over 1000 baht, which included a 100 baht because it was my first visit as an out patient. This is the only hospital that I have visited in Thailand, so I have nothing to compare the experince with. All I can say is that I was happy with the service and will go there in the future if required.
