I was in HCMC last week and received a new Non O (Marriage) Multi Entry 12 month visa whilst there. The cost was $200, and I dropped my application/passport in at the Consulate at 9:30am and received the new visa in my passport at 1:30pm the next day. Note that I had made an online appointment for the application 3 weeks earlier. The online appointment system is a great improvement resulting in a very short/fast queue, in stark contrast to the Consulate in Phnom Penh where chaos reigns. (Applicants in HCMC without an appointment are rejected). I've often used the DHL offices in Interchange21 in Asoke (un the arcade) , and in Emquartier (adjacent to the cinema) and they've always been staffed who incidentally generally seem to be efficient in sorting out my parcels. You can renew up to 12 months late. So if your DL expired pre-Sept 2021 (i.e., more than 12 months), then you will need to start from scratch again.

I had to take a taxi from Phrom Phong to Chaengwattana earlier this month. Grab quoted 533 baht on the app, so instead we flagged down a meter taxi and it cost only 245 baht. So yes my experience in that case was that Grab costs twice as much.

I was in Siem Reap a couple of weeks ago, and most of the restaurant/bars in Pub Street appeared to be open and the area was quite lively (on a Saturday evening). The Hard Rock Cafe on the other side of the river appears to be closed indefinitely. There seems to be far more tuk tuk drivers than tourists at present though.

Additionally, the demographics in Thailand whereby the proportion of females far exceeds that of males is an added bonus.

I received my new passport from the embassy in Bangkok in June, I then flew out to Phnom Penh at end of July (but haven't been back to the passport issuing country for a few years now).

I did this at Suvarnbhumi 11 days ago. I presented both PP's to the I/O, he then sent me to a desk where another I/O assisted me with completing a form for notification of new passport, taking a fresh photos/fingerprints, and putting new stamps in the new PP noting the carry-over from the old PP. It took a bit over 20 minutes to get it done.

If married to a Thai, could the 30 day visa exempt entry be extended for 60 days (instead of 30 days) for the purpose of seeing Thai family?

I had to do this for my wife 4 years ago. Back then the IMMI system accepted "Self Certified True Copies" so getting a copy notarised was not necessary. After uploading the scanned copies into the system she subsequently received an email from DFAT confirming that the validity of the 3 years visa had been transferred to her new Thai PP. We travelled to Australia a couple of months later under her new PP and there were no problems.
