For most of the 2024 F1 season I was able to watch the practice sessions and the race live on True Visions ch 607 (Bein Sports). However, this season True Visions don't seem to be showing it and ch 607 is currently blank. Thankfully, Bein Sports are offering the 129 baht deal again in 2025 as my plan B, although the annual subscription seems like good value.

I concur. Similarly I don't fully understand why Australians often refer to themselves as "proud Ozzies", or why folks from Birmingham often refer to themselves as "proud Brummies" .

Adjacent to the current embassy the One Bangkok office towers, mall etc officially opened a couple of months ago, so this should solve the issue of where to park the car if driving to the embassy.

Even exempted from incurring the obligatory 10% dividend withholding tax taken at source by the investee-company?

Indeed, I checked other types of service on the booking system as well (which indicated that there was availability for those other services), so it seems that they are not allowing booking appointments for annual marriage extensions at the moment. Perhaps it's another ploy to shift more people onto the less laborious retirement extensions instead or to use agents. I was wondering whether I could physically visit CW in person to make an advanced booking appointment a month in advance, or whether it can only be done using the online system?

I've been checking the online appointment booking page regularly this month in order to lock-in an appointment for my marriage extension renewal at CW next month. However, each time I login the system says that the next 30 days is full (specifically for marriage family annual extension, as lots were still available for retirement annual extensions). I was wondering whether any members have had any luck securing an appointment recently for CW annual marriage extension? Any recommendations on alternative methods for booking an appointment? I'm suspicious that visa agents are somehow monopolizing the appointment slots.

Yes, the rally commences in HCMC then passing through Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, and then finishing in Singapore. -
and Krungsri / Bank of Ayudhya....Japanese bank? and it's designated as one of the 5 systemically important banks (SIB) by the Bank of Thailand....Bank of Thailand would only apply this to Thai banks, e.g., Krungsri which is a Thailand bank although their largest shareholder is a Japanese bank. They are not regarded as a Japanese bank...similarly UOB (which evolved from Radanasin Bank more than 20 years ago) is a Thai bank with a large Singaporean shareholder.

I guess the same applies to View Talay Sands in Na Jomtien. Obviously a quiet location but it's a low rise beachfront with duplex 2Br condo units, so maybe it's not the same developer as the other VT's.

I had been anticipating this given the Thai gov't announcements a few months ago regarding doing away with the 1,500 baht vat free threshold on imports. I placed an order with iHerb on 17 Jul (after notification of the change in arrangments by iHerb) and received delivery on 25 July by Flash Express (with no additional taxes to collect). The invoice included an all-in amount for duties/vat of 15% that I had prepaid. I usually purchase when iHerb has a promo/discount which I guess offsets the the duties/taxes to some extent. In the past I have usually ticked the box for delivery by Flash Express (with free delivery) instead of US/Thai Post, and this is now the only option available, which means the max. number of items per order is limited to 3.

If in Bangkok/Bangna I would suggest arranging to see a specialist at Manarom Hospital for a diagnosis and recommendations on the best way forward for the child. https://www.manarom.com/child_eng.html

The Villa at J-Avenue does have a small pharmacy adjacent to the cashier.

How much do you drink (if at all)
mark5335 replied to still kicking's topic in I Drink Too Much Forum
I was regularly drinking a bottle of gin per week for the last several years until a couple of months ago, when my annual medical check-up showed a big spike in my liver enzymes. So I stopped, and have switched to having an occasional San Mig Zero in the meantime. -

Indeed, and for that reason I was advised when I renewed my 5 yr DL at DLT Bangchak 2 years ago, to use the Yellow Tabien Baan only and not the pink ID card.

Cabinet Approves VAT on All Imports Exceeding 1 Baht
mark5335 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It will likely also affect other items such as personal iHerb health supplements for which import duty is already paid (if >THB1,500 orders), in that apart from the import duty, an extra 7% VAT will now be required to be paid. -
