Any journalist worth his salt, has contacts. Politicians, smugglers, terrorists, drug cartel members ... you just name it, they will have some contact or they will create a way of getting through to them. To me, an organization of the caliber of CNN doing this is no surprise at all - in fact, if they cant do anything like this, they might as well close shop! Reporting about road accidents and the like is just peanuts.

Report Thailand Ranked 7th Happiest Country in New Global Survey
ravip replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In this thread we are discussing about "Thailand Ranked 7th Happiest Country in New Global Survey". Hence when I replied to your comment, I did NOT mean to accuse you of anything - what I meant was, we see the 'status' of people, only whom we associate with - but, there are millions who tend to differ. Most times we judge the entire populace with the standard of our associates. Sorry, for not been clear in my previous post. -

~ Where on earth does money bring unhappiness? ~ Definitely the survey did not include foreigners living in Thailand - that should be another survey, IMHO -

Imagine if the Thai Police stopped him and questioned, the head lines would have screamed... "Innocent tourist walking down the street was stopped by the RTP and questioned for wearing a balaclava in public!" And we AN members will have a field day bashing Thailand in its entirety! -

TBH its very common to encounter psychologically challenged people in todays society. I guess with the stressful life, many people are mentally challenged, in various degrees. This might be one method for them to release their pent up pressure.

Drinking Habits Of British MPs: A past report (perhaps from the 1960s) on the drinking habits of British MPs concludes with this amusing anecdote: George Brown, the Foreign Secretary under Prime Minister Harold Wilson, was well known for his love for drinking. Perhaps the most well-known session occurred at an official reception on a state-visit to Brazil. Spying an attractive person in a red dress, he asked for a dance. "There are three reasons, Mr Brown, why I will not dance with you,” the object of his affection reputedly replied. “The first, I fear, is that you’ve had too much to drink. The second is that this is not, as you suppose, a waltz that the orchestra is playing but the Brazilian national anthem, for which you should be standing to attention. And the third reason why we may not dance, Mr. Brown, is that I am the Cardinal of Sao Paulo."
