I just returned from one month in the US. Though I have some great friends back there, who are leading fulfilling lives, most people are utterly humorless, and seem to be live to work, eat, and sleep. The cost of living has skyrocketed to the point where only those who own their homes, that are paid for, or those earning over $400,000 per year, seem to be in decent shape. It feels like a relatively joyless place, these days. So thrilled to be living here. The quality of life is higher on so many levels. At least for me.

Anyone else struggling with loud sleep farts?

My woman and I try to outdo each other. But sadly, I can never even come close, when it comes to the volume and length of her farts. -
Analysts Predict Baht Decline if Trump Wins US Presidency
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well, during his first term Trump borrowed like a drunken sailor, and swelled the deficit by 7.1 trillion. It would likely be higher this time, with all his zany economic "plans". Would that strengthen the dollar, or weaken it? Many of his proposals would likely lead to more inflation, like the silly and ignorant tariff plans, which would be nothing more than a tax hike on the American consumer. -
Perhaps asking to modify the parameters of the Paris accord might be a more intelligent approach. Climate change is real, and it is man made. Increased temperatures — which might be welcome in some places — are only part of the story. More important are changes in precipitation, decreased snowpack, glacier melting, droughts in mid to low latitudes, decreased cereal crop productivity at lower latitudes, increased sea level, loss of islands and coastal wetlands, increased flooding, greater storm intensity, species loss and spread of infectious disease.

Yes. Of course. Nothing on this forum is stated as fact. All of the replies are opinions. Why would anyone think otherwise? I don't consider your posts to be facts. Why would you consider mine to be? Having said that he did factually dismantle a lot of previous environmental policy when he became president in 2016, that cannot be disputed. It can be obfuscated, it can be stated otherwise, but the facts cannot be disputed.

It is Trump's stated goal to do everything that he possibly can do to avoid anything that benefits the environment. He wants to open up national parks, monuments and national forests to logging, mining interests, and oil companies, ruining the top park system on the planet. Since it's likely that he's never been to a national park in his lifetime it means nothing to him. He wants to drill on pristine land, he wants to erase air quality standards, and in general he behaves as if we have seven or eight, perhaps nine alternative planets to move to, if we completely foul this one. The man is beyond irresponsible when it comes to the environment, he's a dangerous hazard.

Bangkok Braces for Rising PM2.5 Levels Amid Cool Weather
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
For 6 months of the year, this is an enormous problem. And the goons in charge don't seem to have much motivation to address it. Burning would be a good place to start. Penalizing people with poorly maintained diesel vehicles would be another. Indifference, greed and corruption are the enemies of progress. People are dying. Do something. Do anything.- 33 replies

Foreigner Wrecks Chiang Mai Stall After Smoking Ban Warning
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Why maybe a little bit extreme when it comes to this issue, but I don't think smoking should be allowed within 10 meters of food, it is truly one of the most disgusting habits a human can engage in, and second hand smoke is just beyond obnoxious. -
Trump Fires Back at ‘Lowlife’ John Kelly After Damaging Remarks
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
As a supporter of Trump you simply have no basis and no credibility whatsoever when it comes to criticizing somebody for name calling, your man's been doing it for a decade, there's no limit to the depth that he will stoop when it comes to juvenile bullying and name calling, so back down now. Stop the nonsense. -
Some advice/opinions please on moving to Hua Hin
spidermike007 replied to delgarcon's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am
Talking of AQI. Definitely better than Bangkok, or CM, which is horrific when it comes to air for 6 months or so. Also, too over developed for my taste. Hua Hin are has alot going for it. -
Some advice/opinions please on moving to Hua Hin
spidermike007 replied to delgarcon's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am
I did. I consider Chumporn to be one of the ugliest and least appealing cities in all of Thailand. And there does not seem to be much soul to the place. Hua Hin offers alot of great food and shopping and is relatively close to Bangkok. It also has a good mix of older expats. Some nightlife, but not obnoxious like Pattaya. But it is drier and the air quality is not great for about 7 months of the average year. I lived on Samui for 9 years. Loved the weather, but the island got unbearable. -
The PC crew, the liberals in the US, the universities, and many others are so anxious to hop on the support bandwagon, for anyone who wants to be different, regardless of the complexity of the circumstances. When it goes so far that the governing body of competitive swimming in the US is supporting "trans women", who are biological MEN, and enabling them to compete with "real women", who have little chance of winning against a 6'4" man who has transitioned, with shoulders the size of a quarterback, it is beyond ridiculous. I am an open minded guy. I have had a number of gay and lesbian friends for a long time, and am generally supportive of alternative lifestyles. But, there has to be a limit. Somewhere, somehow.

Foreigner Wrecks Chiang Mai Stall After Smoking Ban Warning
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
The other silly aspect of this is his complete lack of regard for the gas hazard. One wonders if he smokes while filling his car with gas. He is simply a weak snowflake, who could not handle being asked to put on his cigarette. And no self discipline either. -

Nobody refers to Trump as Hitler. We simply state that he has been quoted as saying he liked Hitler and admires him. Same applies to Kim, MBS, Putin and other despot serial killers. -

The foreigner, feeling threatened, responded by overturning trays of bualoy, damaging tables, and throwing his lit cigarette at her. You are defending an out of control goombah. Lock him up. -

Trump is the true Marxist. His use of disinformation and propaganda is right out of their playbook. So is his adoration of dictators. -
Why Kamala Harris was always destined to lose
spidermike007 replied to NickyLouie's topic in Political Soapbox
I agree that she doesn't seem to have a particularly coherent message but when you contrast her to Trump, who's cognitive faculties have been on the decline for a few years now, she comes across as a blazing genius, a or a nuclear physicist. Trump comes across the schoolyard dummy. -
Why Kamala Harris was always destined to lose
spidermike007 replied to NickyLouie's topic in Political Soapbox
Why Trump was always destined to lose. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W. look smart and articulate. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws - he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: 'My God… what… have… I… created? Unappealing, unattractive, idiotic, incompetent, hateful, hurtful, abrasive, rude, blowhard, liar, cheater, thief, infantile, failure, loser, fraud, sexual abuser, incestuous, tax cheat, insurrectionist, un-American, dictator-loving dictator wannabe, out of control, sociopathic, convicted felon, toxic narcissist & brutish A-hole. Everything about the con-man referred to as Trump is unlikeable. He's everything wrong with the human animal, all stuffed into one specimen. In my opinion he started to fade in the last year of his presidency. He may have had a minor stroke. Since then, it has been a steady downhill path. Far less coherent than in the past, very hard for him to continue a sentence for more than 15 seconds, alot of rambling, complaining, playing the victim card, and juvenile name calling as usual. Even most of the CEO's he met with recently were shocked at how lacking his message was. -

Why Kamala Harris was always destined to lose
spidermike007 replied to NickyLouie's topic in Political Soapbox
There is no doubt that she's a poor candidate, and considering the money that she's been able to raise, and when you add in all of Trump errors, mistakes, and statements of astonishing ignorance, she should be 10 points up. Having said that I will take a flawed character that may be a halfway decent president over a convicted felon who's a career criminal huckster, a scammer, a wanna be fascist, a failed president, and is completely insincere about his proposals.- 210 replies

I generally like Samsung products and I've had great success with their inverter air conditioners, their refrigerators, and their air filters, but I will not buy their TVs anymore. The big issue for me is they stop making parts after 36 months, so I've thrown two perfectly good Samsung TVs in the trash because they couldn't be repaired. For me it's Sony all the way, they make parts for 10 years and they rarely ever break down. Also like LG. Have a 77" C2 oled now, which I love.
