  1. Trump had no idea what he was getting into when he picked on China, and it is very likely this is not going to end well for him, nor for America. He has simply precipitated the decline that was already in motion for decades now.
  2. In an ideal world in the mind of Trump, he would arrest everyone who disagrees with him on any level, and that makes him a bit of a fascist dictator, at least in his own fantasies.
  3. I agree with what you're saying, but I've never once equated Trump with Hitler, you're confusing me with some of the other guys on the forum. Though he is incredibly ugly, and I couldn't disagree with many of his policies more adamantly.
  4. It's incredible to me that this debate has gotten so far off course that people don't even understand that the protests were about immigration and the crackdown on both legal and illegal immigrants. Hence the pure silliness of asking why people are waving the Mexican flag! Talk about the fog of politics and MAGA.
  5. Brics had 11 members as of last year, including the original five members of Brazil, China, India, Russia and South Africa, and now six new members with Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Emirates. In the last few months Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Nigeria we're announced as partner countries, which one has to assume is the precursor to becoming full members. The economic output of the Brics nations now far exceeds that of the US, and that has to be a huge worry to Trump and his minions. With the Trump isolationist policies and the tariffs, the US is alienating more and more countries by the day, and it would appear America is becoming increasingly less relevant to the world. Will any of his policies change that? I don't think so. Quite the opposite, perhaps. What Trump doesn't seem to understand is that nation's now have many choices when it comes to accessing services and commodities, and the US is no longer the only big dog in the world, a luxury they enjoyed for 60 or 70 years. He doesn't seem to understand the fact that everything has changed, and very old, and highly inflexible minds like his cannot comprehend the concept of change and evolution, and have very little grasp of globalization and the inherent ecosystems within globalization. How is this going to affect the US in the long term? Are we simply going to be left behind? Will Trump's policies dramatically precipitate the decline, and will the world simply decide to isolate America? One thing is for sure, the future is going to be quite interesting for the US, and I don't think that it's the future that Trump and his cronies anticipate.
  6. Certainly not double brick walls with Thai brick. I will avoid using Thai brick aways, as I consider it a horrific building material.
  7. Look at the history of my posts, it is very rare that I have wished a pox on the family of any leader. Having said that, if you can establish some reasons why I should have more regard for this guy who's leading the military Junta in Burma, by all means go for it.
  8. Correct. It is safe to say I despise the man, but worse than that I have I could not possibly have less respect for the man, and that's saying a lot. The police absolutely had this under control, it was just a matter of time before they squashed everything, the National Guard and the Marines were total overkill. Trump looks like an absolute goon throughout the world, the entire world is looking on thinking things are way out of control, when they are not, and absolutely no effort is being made to address the root of the problem, which is very typical with Gump.
  9. Are those similar to Q con bricks? Those would be my first choice but they're quite costly.
  10. Well I'm certainly not making it up, and this is a story coming directly from my woman who is pretty straight with me. As a matter of fact we lent them the money so they could get this position, and by the way we were paid back in full. As is always the case with any member of her wonderful family.
  11. Anyone who asks someone to prove that Trump is more corrupt than virtually anyone else in America, has either not done their research, lives in a state of total denial or is just simply defending him for the sake of defending him. Period. End of story. Biden was a saint worthy of canonization, relative to Trump.
  12. Egg on the face can be a terrible thing, but shame and humiliation are two things that can create positive change here, and they are some of the only ways you can actually get through to the officials. Social media can be a very powerful tool, and the government is simply showing how guilty they are by going after these people. People who pursue defamation cases are almost always, without fail, very very guilty. Shame on these fools.
  13. LA is a huge city encompassing over 470 square miles, and these protests are taking place in one tiny little area and there are a few hundred people involved. Trump is blowing this completely out of proportion and sending in the National Guard and the Marines is beyond inane. It's something that Mussolini or Stalin would have done, and it's embarrassing as an American. He is truly a blight on American political history.
  14. Yes. Trump is 100 times more corrupt than Biden was in his wildest dreams. If you can't see that there's nothing that I can say to you to establish real and actual facts.
  15. Good. Much like Trump, she was poorly qualified for that office. I hope the Dems never consider her and I hope they're wise enough to go with younger more Centrist people in the future, who appeal to the masses. Harris was a disaster on every level, l I never liked her even as a Centrist Dem. It would sure be nice if more Republicans were speaking about out about some of their terrible candidates, congress and senate members, and their horrific president.
  16. The really sad part about this whole situation is that the facts on the ground just do not support Trump's narratives nor his decision to send in the National Guard and Marines. There are maybe 200 or 300 people protesting at this point and as of now there are thousands of LAPD, National Guard, and Marines. Okay these protesters did get out of hand and they did create some damage, but the LAPD had it under control. Rather than address the reasons for the anger that these protesters have, Trump as usual is just simply trying to flex his incredibly weak and pathetic lack of muscles. The goon is just using this as an excuse to grandstand, and demonstrate his dictatorial tendencies. This will not end well for him, he may end up creating some sort of military parade to celebrate the victory, but his popularity will decline over this. The man is a nitwit and a juvenile bull in a China closet.
  17. This guy is absolute scum of the earth, he is gutter vermin, he's a thieving, serial killing dictator thug, who is ruining the hopes and dreams of a nation. A horrific pox on his entire family.
  18. Fantastic idea, anything to avoid standard Thai bricks is a great thing, they are an absolutely horrific building material, with no insulation properties whatsoever, difficulties with running wiring and plumbing through them, and a very impractical material. I'm going to be building a house soon and I'm going to be using super adobe brick I've already purchased all the equipment required and these bricks are a minimum of 200 cm in depth with tremendous insulation qualities in addition to a gorgeous aesthetic as shown in these images.
  19. Her defiant stance comes amid allegations against some members of her party of straying from integrity. Is that part of a George Carlin routine? Where did that come from? That would be amusing if it weren't so tragic. It's encouraging to think that there is actually somebody out there fighting corruption here, but one wonders if there's any possibility of her putting even a dent into the issue, it's so pervasive, it's so widespread, where would one even start? Every single department in Thailand is corrupt from the local, to the state government, to the federal government. You cannot get a position within the government at any level, the police, customs or immigration without buying that position. Everybody knows that and fortunes are being made on a daily basis. My woman's sister-in-law just paid 200,000 baht for a lowly 10,000 baht a month position in their local village. It's so common. Millions upon millions of baht are being made from this these kind of practices and this has been going on for a century perhaps, or longer. The RTP, Customs, and Immigration, all of these departments are simply pyramid schemes with bribes being funneled to those in power. Is there any will to stop these kind of practices? Of course this is just a silly dream, everybody's making so much money with this bizarre patronage system, when hundreds of thousands of baht are being paid for a low position and millions are being paid for a high position. The fortunes that are being made and the illegal and illicit funds that are being collected are astonishing and shameful.
  20. I'm sure a lot of people are going to jump on the bandwagon and criticize the guy for being broke, but the reality is that being broke is no fun, it can happen to anybody, and my heart goes out to this guy for his bad fortune. Hope he gets the help he needs and is able to get back to his country and family.
  21. So I guess Thailand is not the digital Nomad Hub after all! The problem is when you create an administration full of people who were appointed strictly based on family connections, wealth, or proximity to power without taking into account anything even within the neighborhood of merit, skill or experience, you end up with situations like this. You have grossly incompetent people who are creating these programs, and they're simply unable to implement them, they don't have the intelligence, the skill, nor the abilities. More egg on the face of the terribly incompetent young PM.

  23. Yes, if I or my family were in danger. Absolutely. There are deranged and psycho women all over the world. Under less extreme circumstances, no. If things were bad, I would prefer to just walk away. Abusive relationships are not my thing. Never have been. Some guys like chaos. I much prefer harmony.
  24. They did sanitize the city alot, and it did lose some character. I do miss all the funky bars of yesteryear. But, it's still a great city. The roads are a challenge. Rama II is the ugliest abomination. A decade behind schedule? Heads should be rolling.
  25. Yes. Absolutely. My presumption would be that by turning it over to the police the last possibility in the world would be that it would find its way back to the it's rightful owner. However I'd be incredibly discreet about it, and not a soul would know about it, and the city that I found it in I would leave in the rear view immediately. Finders, keepers.
