  1. Yes, of course the press was making up stories about Huge Don not being able to stay awake during the trial.
  2. They both have dementia, one is more senile than the other, but both are at least partially senile. One of them is fairly demented, at least partially insane, and would not know truth if it bit him on the ankles. Both are terrible choices.
  3. It happens often, but it does not make it into the press. As you may know, the press in the US is somewhat compromised.
  4. The US has a long history of atrocious behavior towards Native Americans. First they killed most of them off, then they stole their lands, gave them disease, and then they gave them rotten deals. Some were fortunate to get good reservation land. A few have reaped great fortune with the casinos. But, not many. I am sure MAGA supporters, and white supremacists will be all over this.
  5. That was Huge Don, and his failing health. Burgers alone do not provide enough energy for him to remain awake all day.
  6. Are you stating that Trump was not sleeping during his trial, and his health is not extremely poor?
  7. Very true, Thailand has essentially lost its ability to attract affluent tourists and is now stuck with predominantly Chinese, Russian, Malaysian, Arab, and Indian tourists. Nothing against those people (except perhaps the Russians) but they are low spending for the most part, and quantity over quality never really works in a situation like this.
  8. From what I understand this will be a different format. There will be on the spot fact checking. Since 90% of what Trump says is fake, an exaggeration, or made up, this will hurt him. He will look like even more of a fool than usual. Biden has a far greater grasp of the facts, and even at his age is smarter and sharper than Huge Don. This should be interesting and is a great opportunity for Biden, (the better candidate) to pull ahead in the polls.
  9. None of the problems that existed long before covid have been addressed. It was a perfect opportunity to do a full reset. However, the hubris, the arrogance and the absolute insistence on believing that Thailand is not only the center of the universe, but the most important and desirable tourist destination in the world, has seemingly prevented the goons from doing anything worthwhile. Thailand is making only very minor improvements, and continues to move backwards. The army, and the goons leading the nation do not have a clue. It is all about worshiping the golden calf of money.
  10. Regardless of the merits of this video, expats and tourists here have to exercise caution. There are underage gals working the streets and working in some bars or massage shops. Likely not many. But some. It is likely the US offers a reward to the local cops for snagging one of its citizens with an underage gal, as they are very zealous about these prosecutions. As an American, the laws in the US apply to all US passport holders, worldwide. Often the Thai cop will demand 100,000 baht, if she is 17, or one million baht, if 16 or under. You do not have it? You are turned over. Many guys end up on planes with an assistant DA dispatched from DC, in handcuffs, facing federal statutory rape charges. Unless you have millions to throw at a lawyer, you are looking at 10 years in a federal pen. And you will be on the sex offender list the rest of your life. Many will dispute this. I have spoken to lawyers about it, and it is correct info. And the US government is over zealous about the underage thing. Not worth it. Always best to check if she looks really young. If she does not have ID, that is real trouble. Do not proceed. The law changed in 2003, when the PROTECT Act was enacted. Prior to that, sex with minors abroad was covered by Customs statutes, which required proof that the US citizen left the US with the intent of having sex with persons under the age of 18 - something that was very difficult to prove. (It's also worth noting that both Jerry Lee and Elvis married teenagers. Laws in the US are peculiar in that many states allow marriage to someone below the age of consent, as long as their parents agree.) Under the PROTECT Act, there is no need for the government to prove intent. If an American has sex with someone under age 18 while in a foreign country, that's a crime, period, even if that sex isn't against the law in the country where it took place. One mistake. One arrest and conviction of this sort and your life is basically over.
  11. Hope none of the injuries were serious. The safety standards here are seriously lacking and enforcement of any standards is very, very third world.
  12. Now that is where you are wrong, there are millions upon millions of migrants in America, the entire nation is founded upon immigration, and that's likely never going to change, unless the nation diminishes to the point where it's no longer appealing to anyone anymore. As I said before most of the immigrants that I know work very hard, and contribute to society on many levels, and I've seen multiple studies that have shown that immigration ends up being a net inflow into the nation's coffers, with all the money that they pay in taxes and all the benefits that they do not receive. It is very obvious you and I live in very different worlds. I won't call you names, as that is not my style.
  13. All the immigrants I know in the US are extremely hard workers, very diligent, pay their taxes, contribute to society, and it's likely a net gain for the country. I don't know where you come from and I don't know which podcasts you listen to, not which numskull politicians, but you might want to consider weaning yourself away from them for a short period of time, to regain your senses.
  14. Call it the Prayuth Decimation. There is a reason why army rule nearly always fails, with regard to economic policy.
  15. Frankly I'm not sure that I am the one who is lacking critical thinking here. It is not that the landing gear mechanisms would wear out over time that I'm questioning, it is why the light would come on mid flight on the way to the Philippines. Have you thought about that? Sí puedo, pero no, no lo haré.
  16. Thomas is a man who possesses a stunning lack of vision. That he is a supreme court justice says alot about Bush Sr. and the US. Not exactly the brightest mind on the court.
  17. Please resign. You are no good. You are an incompetent. You were not elected, but rather appointed by extremely greedy men. Get out. Get out now.
  18. I am no aeronautical engineer, but this sounds fishy. Why would the landing gear warning light go on during a long flight? Why not land at an airport better equipped to handle a crisis, should one happen? Entirely bizarre.
  19. My guess is that the RTP has been putting pressure on the government since decriminalization first happened. They are losing billions of baht per year, in extortion, bribes and payoffs.
  20. Just not true. I can stand on a corner in KL for 30 minutes, before I see one beautiful woman walk by. In Bangkok, it takes about 30 seconds. Same applies to China. Thailand is exceptional.
  21. There is no doubt this may be the worst supreme court in US history. They just keep making bad decisions. No wonder the public has no faith in them anymore. Does anyone need more proof that America adores its violence and mayhem?
  22. I haven't solved any problems yet, but call me. You will get a chance to communicate with an unelected PM, who is a symbol of broken dreams of democracy.
  23. The economy has not come back, as you claim. It is in bad shape. Low growth, higher unemployment, (despite what they claim) lower car and real estate sales, manufacturing and exports are down. Etc, etc. Many are struggling here.
  24. The poll indicates the sentiments of the public, who are always disregarded. They just don't count. Remember the election, Anutin? The dinosaurs seem to love backwards movement and seem to always reject any step forward. Progress? They don't have it in them. Legal ganja is far superior to the war on ganja, and the RTP free for all we used to see. It would make more sense to classify alcohol as a drug. It does far more harm to society.
  25. As an American, the laws in the US apply to all US passport holders, worldwide. Often the Thai cop will demand 100,000 baht, if she is 17, or one million baht, if 16 or under. You do not have it? You are turned over. It is quite possible the US pays a "ransom" to Thai cops to ensnare American guys. They absolutely love prosecuting guys for sex crimes. If she does not have ID, that is real trouble. Do not proceed. I've been told by reliable sources that the US will throw up to $10 million at a conviction of an American caught overseas with an underage gal, so unless you're super wealthy and able to fight something like that you are facing a long time in a federal penitentiary. The law changed in 2003, when the PROTECT Act was enacted.
