Thai Police: is their reputation deserved?
spidermike007 replied to Watawattana's topic in General Topics
The RTP at it's inception seems to have been created with a status quo from the government. We will NOT pay you a living wage, but you have a franchise, and the limit of your income is based solely on your own creativity and initiative, and you will always be protected. Is that not the case? -
Aussie man sues Thai ex-wife after Danish affair & money swindle
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
It is likely safe to assume he did not take his time getting to know this woman. Time allows clarity. Never, ever move too quickly. That is the undoing of most of these guys. Lastly, do not get hung up on them, emotionally. Have some fun. Get to know them. Take your time. Always remember, if it is good, it is only going to get better. If there are problems, they will reveal themselves over time. Time is your ally. It is rarely their ally. They are usually trying to step up the timetable. We need to push back. We need to assert control. We need to be honest, and let them know we are not interested in an immediate relationship. Something might develop, but if you are in a hurry, I am NOT YOUR GUY. An environment like this allows us to set boundaries, and take our time. Take advantage of that. She starts saying I love you, and you respond by saying that's nice. I like you too. What, you do not love me? Of course not. I have only known you a few months. I have barely gotten to know you yet. Be a man. Step up. Pay tribute to the gender. Refuse to lay down anymore. Refuse to be a doormat. Refuse to check your cajones at the door. -
If this is indeed true, it seems like a major over reach, and rather draconian. I cannot see it being enforced. And if these govt. goons ever figured out a way to enforce it, the expat population would likely drop to 10,000. Over taxation is a device used by lazy minds who do not seem capable of running an economy. Or, perhaps they see it as a way of "purifying" the nation?

Honoring Dr. Fauci's Legacy in Advancing Public Health
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
He is only a hero if you believed the entire narrative and are convinced the vaccines worked, and continue to work. Everyone I know who got vaccinated, got covid. And many I know who did not, either got it, or they didn't. None of them died. Most had mild cases. Now? I will never again get another covid vaccine. I only got them so I could travel. I trust my immune system far more than vaccines. And I don't trust Fauci, nor the CDC, nor the WHO, nor the FDA. -
Pita Declares His Readiness to Succeed Srettha as Prime Minister
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
He is ready, all of Thailand is ready. He is the elected PM. Not Srettha. He is a fraud and an imposter. But there are some very regressive minded creeps who are not ready. And they hold alot of power. And they want to hold Thailand back, and continue to earn a fortune, at the cost of the people, the welfare of the nation, and the future of the nation. They are so greedy, so self absorbed, so ignorant, so lacking in vision, that they do not understand the cost of their thirst for power and wealth. They are not worthy, nor are they decent. But, they have the power. -
Philippine President Warns China Against 'Acts of War'
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
How about I send you an invoice for my rental? Would that help or would you consider still consider that to be fake news? And why would somebody make something like that up, and why would someone even question another person having made a statement like that? Beyond bizarre. You must be an MG owner. LOL. -
Man fatally stabs friend to death over 20 baht in Chon Buri
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of the violence here is gang related, related to young thugs and young criminals and fortunately it has very little impact upon us, as expats. I've been here for nearly two decades and have had no altercations. When I was living on Samui I did have some close calls with some hotheads, but I was always able to pacify the aggressors with either words of kindness or an act of humility. I am infinitely more concerned about violence, road rage, thievery and inane acts when I am in the US, than when I am in Thailand. I consider violence in America to be far more random, and it can happen anytime, anywhere. And it seems to be getting worse. -
Man fatally stabs friend to death over 20 baht in Chon Buri
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Well this is one of those deep philosophical discussions that we could have for days. I do believe there is something innate within the American psyche that absolutely adores violence, we are a nation founded upon violence, we were birthed upon violence, we gorge ourselves on violent TV, film, video games, and we have more mass murders than any other country in the world by many multiples. Whether or not that increases in Thailand is somewhat irrelevant, the fact of the matter is I do believe many Americans find violence appealing on many levels. -
Add in Angola, Mali, Niger and Chad to the list of misery, and hugely irresponsible planetary destruction by over population.

Man fatally stabs friend to death over 20 baht in Chon Buri

You had some very bad luck! Never had an issue in nearly two decades. In the US, all kinds of issues. Not here. -

I doubt it. The US adores violence, weapons and mayhem. They will always be the world leader in mass murder. -
Jurassic World 4 Set to Film Across Thailand
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps they can get some of the current politicians to star in the film. They could save alot of money on CGI. Thailand needs alot more than a movie, to save its economy. They are quickly sliding towards international irrelevance. -
Philippine President Warns China Against 'Acts of War'
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
China is out of their minds, with their false claim of the entire South China Sea. What next? The entire Pacific Ocean? The CCP is up to no good. They cannot be trusted. Xi is a monster. Best thing to do is avoid buying anything Chinese, if possible. Avoid MG, at all costs, as it is a very inferior vehicle anyway. Just rented one in Europe and it felt like a large, low end toy. -
PM Unveils Thailand's First Châteaux Wine Exhibition
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Total nonsense. Wine prices continue to be some of the highest in the world. Total taxes are well over 300%. Thailand could have a dynamic wine industry, employing many thousands. But, they need to be willing to make sacrifices, a word they do not seem to understand. Srettha is a master of BS. -
Thai-US powered operation crumbles cybercrime hacker syndicate

An excellent result. Perhaps execution would be an appropriate punishment. It would help to prevent them from ever doing this again. -
No "Legal Miracles" for Thaksin and Yingluck, Says Former Deputy PM
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One would have thought the extremely corrupt removal of Pita and his replacement with a cabinet that the foul and super toxic army is participating in, after 9 incredibly incompetent years of rule, would have caused the people to rise up, would have caused a massive gnashing of teeth and would have caused millions of people to have taken to the streets. No Such Thing took place. -
British Pensioner Struggles with Frozen Pension in Thailand
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It feels like a penalty, it's almost as if they're saying we are at the great nation, and if you choose not to live here we need to penalize you for not having the vision to see how great we are. -
British Pensioner Struggles with Frozen Pension in Thailand
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If anything, the British government should give people living in Thailand an annual bonus, for their vision. Also, they are in theory saving the nation money, by not using it's services. -
Buddhist teacher kills neighbour over grass cutting noise

Headline should have said man who fraudulently impersonated a Buddhism teacher online, and knew nothing about the precepts, lays waste to his neighbor.
