  1. The best way to deal with aggressive dogs is either a can of insect spray, or mace, or pepper spray. They all work like a charm, all animals hate insect spray and will do anything to avoid it, just spray it in their face and they go crazy. Somebody needs to tame these wild beasts, and somebody needs to tame the idiot owner of the resort, whatever it takes, besides a 1000 baht fine by a seriously compromised group, that calls itself law enforcement.
  2. I have work and family that takes me back 2 to 4 times a year, and I travel around the country so I can see and feel what's going on, and it is not pretty. America is a pale shadow of its former self and there's a lot of people who are very bitter and disenfranchised. America is just not much fun and people seem relatively joyless. And for my single friends the dating scene has become an absolute horror show. By comparison, I have single friends who do really well here. And they are not rich, nor do they have great looks. They do have personality, and they do have a sense of humor, which helps a lot.
  3. As a relatively impartial observer and someone who barely cares who wins (as much as I detest Trump) I would have to say that Biden's performance will likely drop him in the poll standings, as he did not perform well. There is a good reason why there is a great deal of fear and panic within the Democratic party at the moment. Van Jones said it well. I love the guy, but his performance was dismal.
  4. I am not a fan of Trump on any level, I really dislike the guy, but I thought he performed reasonably well, even though 97% of what he said was a lie. But that is just who he is. Unfortunately there was no fact-checking on the spot, but Biden did not do well, I felt like it was a bit of a train wreck, and I thought he needed a very strong debate to emerge from this thing in a position of strength. I think the results have hurt him significantly and I think the chances of him winning now have diminished greatly. It was a mistake from the very beginning for the party to allow him to run again, and it was even more of a mistake to allow him to maintain Harris as the VP candidate on the ticket. This is a very, very sad moment in American history.
  5. Whether it's a foreigner or a Thai, anyone claiming to own the beach should be punished. His resort should be called out by name, the man should be outed by name, and whatever else it takes to make this idiot behave and show some respect.
  6. China is the biggest culprit as they continue to subsidize their factories, running up historic amounts of debt, and ruining the playing field. They just don't seem to care. The upside is that the Chinese economy is in very big trouble, and the next 5 years or so is going to be quite a fascinating roller coaster ride.
  7. Anything beats those junta-appointed crony senators who were not only toxic but were traitors to their nation and their people. Anything is an improvement over them, however an army general getting selected is obviously an indication that they still have influence.
  8. Nah. The politics are toxic. That is a cesspool. Same applies to the US and all of Europe. Life here is very good for most of us. I enjoy a very high quality of life. I enjoy every day here. I visit the US often. The quality of life for most, is very low. Only the top 2% and people with properties which are paid off, who also have very good incomes, are doing well. There is little joy in America now.
  9. Yes. As soon as I read the woman, and see who she is, I run for the hills. Not interested. Not on any level. Not even casually. No thanks.
  10. This is likely due to military intervention and influence on the kangaroo courts. Thailand is not a democracy. It is still an army ruled autocracy.
  11. It is a very simple procedure. You get your face close to hers, you move your lips towards her lips, and if she does not pull away, you begin kissing her. Making a fried egg is more complicated.
  12. Great result. It is long overdue. Now, with his connections, one hopes he remains banished. When he was chief of immigration, he made a constant fool of himself, by his ridiculous xenophobic rants. Recently, as deputy national police chief, he hogged the spotlight, with his fake crime buster image. I consider all the PR, all the grandstanding, all the hogging of the limelight, the nonstop press conferences, statements, declarations, and proclamations and crackdowns to be window dressing, meant to deceive the most naive among us. Think about how many of the guys he went after. Then research how many were actually convicted and jailed. Then consider the fact that he was one of the top cops in a land where cops are known to be crooked. The RTP at its inception seems to have been created with a status quo from the government. We will NOT pay you a living wage, but you have a franchise, and the limit of your income is based solely on your own creativity and initiative, and you will always be protected. Is that not the case? He spent alot of time and effort trying to convince the public he was clean, and a real crime buster. I always knew this was fake and that he was a publicity hound and loved the limelight. He was the chief of immigration. Then the deputy police chief. Both of those are pyramid schemes. Few immigration and police officers are clean. And the money gets funneled to the top. So, the money laundering was necessary to clean what was likely billions of baht, over the years. This joker likely has a $20 million lakefront château in Switzerland or a penthouse in NYC, and multiple overseas accounts, where he is stashing his ill gotten gains. The real mystery is why he was caught. The cops are above the law. He must have pissed someone off. Joke (pre-cadet class 31; Police Academy class, or PAC, 47) is no common cop. His police officer father was the chauffeur for Thaksin Shinawatra’s wife Pojaman’s Police Lieutenant-General father. Perhaps this chumminess with Pojaman’s family had contributed to Joke leading police security for Thaksin when the latter visited Chiang Mai in March 2024. Joke’s father was also said to be close to ex-deputy premier General Prawit Wongsuwan and politico Sanoh Thienthong. Joke, who is married to a billionaire tycoon’s daughter, has admitted to paying journalists to write favorable stories about him. He is perhaps the fastest-rising police officer in recent Thai history, already a becoming a major-general at 42 but retiring only in 2031. (The police retirement age is 60 while officers usually reach major-general rank at about 50 years of age.) Cronyism at it's finest.
  13. The reason I keep gravitating back to Thailand is my love of ancient architecture. My love of Sukhothai design is lifelong. The older ones with the Khmer influence are especially appealing to me. I have been to Wat Mahathat 30 times. The influence of Singhalese, with the Lotus bud chedi, ( a symbol of purity and Divine birth) and the four images of the Buddha, are profound. I especially like the Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo in Si Satchanalai. I am also deeply drawn to the Hariphunchai architecture found in the Sukhotahi Historical park. I used to travel to Bagan in Burma often. It is not possible now, but the Pahtothamya Temple is one of my favorites, with the 11th century paintings of sea creatures. This shuts them up quickly. They look at me like I am from another planet. Wow. I had no idea you were so passionate about archaeology.
  14. This incredibly corrupt agency would not want people to see what goes on behind closed doors. Easy to make an election promise. Not so easy for them to do what they actually promised.
  15. I think it's pretty much the same thing for the average man, loss, decapitation, amputation, it's all the same net result. Yikes.
  16. Funny. I can't get enough baby blood. I predict Huge Don will lose by 9 million popular votes, and at least 10-20 electoral votes.
  17. The US embargo of Cuba has always been a travesty, and a rather arrogant and poorly intentioned move. It hurt the Cuban people, not it's horrific, multi billionaire, drug running leaders.
  18. Thank you so much for the credit. I really like you acknowledging that I am not a communist. Some of your partisans are not quite as generous. I recently posted something critical of Trump on another forum. Here is an example of one of the replies. And I am thin skinned? Ha! You mean like the EXTREMELY thin skinned, racist, pedophile piece of fascist followers of the America-hating democrat agenda? You mean like that? Jeez. What can one even say to such blabber?
  19. They are not very good at putting away, or eliminating the really bad guys. Too bad. Some of us might even volunteer for the task. There are alot of bad players on the world stage these days.
  20. Gotta love how you guys make incredible generalizations of what is estimated to be 49% of registered voters in the US. And we are all also communist, love Marxist ideology, are not patriotic, are anti-American because we are critical of Trump, worship celebrities, and many of us eat babies and drink their blood. Way to go. Keep up the harmony creation, and make America great again with hatred and division.
  21. I cannot imagine a worst fate than losing one's member. I would imagine the effect it could have on a man's self esteem, not to mention his dating life, could be quite dramatic! Huh? You mentioned you were a bit abnormal, and we had some things we needed to discuss. Really? Baby, I was just getting to like you.
  22. Thankfully. The US can be very over zealous in its reaching out and attempting to prosecute those they don't like. Except of course guys like MBS, and other crooks and serial killers who are considered valuable.
  23. This man was tearing apart the very fabric of Thai society by working without a permit for his specified job. One cannot even count the number of Thai people that would be lining up for a 500 to 4,000 baht haircut. If this kind of thing were to continue society could have a meltdown, and it's very foundations could crumble.
  24. You should have stated avoid Agoda for flights, which very few people use for flights anyway. Booking direct with the airlines is the way to go, for that. However, for hotels Agoda is very good. I use them alot. Have had very few problems with them on hotels.
  25. I agree. I have traveled all over the world, and the Thai people seem to be among the most content, and the most fulfilled. I do not use the term happiness, as it is vague and useless. They are also lighthearted, and fun to be around. That counts for alot. The Nordic happiness index stuff is absolute nonsense.
